  1. The whole Lego thing could be a waste for an adult. However here we are right? Complaining, and some people even is complaining on the complains. How much of a waste of time is that? Nothing if you are enjoying it, however I feel less and less adult as the years pass so my opinions may not be mature enough for the average adult.
  2. Superflagship (or UCS), that would be awesome. Currently TLC is not driving Technic forward, that job falls squarely on MOC's. And where are the "official" ModelTeam-Technic hybrids?
  3. Well I think it is fair play, is a matter of opinion. Any single model that gets released by TLC goes by the same process, some do success, some don't. If TLC takes steps to improve their design and release cycle I will praise them and then expect the process to be at minimum that good. I won't be continually praising them with every single model and amazing myself about the complex process involved in the release of a model. They take my money and I think that is enough.Perhaps I am a bit harsh, but appreciation is something that needs to be earned, not taken as granted, complacency can't be rewarded. In the end is the final result what counts and I think criticism is as fair as appraisal and I see both of those in Eurobricks. On the other hand if most of AFOLs want big and complex and don't give a s*** -excuse my klatchian- about what does it take to release a model... be it. This is business not a MOC.
  4. While that might be true While that may be true I do believe that for example 9392 is a little beauty and the dozer is ugly and boring. Not always is about of size and motors and everyone judges by their own criteria. Anyways I don't know why that is sad, I understand that everyone can focus on their own interests. After all TLC sells this models and not cheap. It is a bussiness, not carity. From my point of view I don't need to appraise what I don't like. We are not talking of bashing a kid 's work and traumatizing him for the rest of its life. IMHO fanboyism and praising for no reason, that is really sad.
  5. Wow that looks awful. The narrower hole clearly points to a chinese fake.
  6. If it is glued freezing can break some glue bonds (superglue becomes very brittle) Unless you freeze it at very low temperatures ABS will be ok. I had a glued (by Lego for showcase) model some years ago, and It was not superglue, they used some kind of glue for model kits, and that thing is closer to melting parts together than gluing. But the presence of glue was pretty obvious. If it is not glued I agree on the hot water with dishwashing detergent. Let the model soak a few minutes and see what happens then.
  7. That thing is unexpectedly small... and ugly. Pending on the parts list and price It is a pass for me.
  8. Even the best case isn't providing enougth power to the motor, RPM should be higher. Infrared and/or battery pack protection circuit are limiting power. edit: Forget what I said, test 2 on 9v 920/1260 is ok, But if that is under no load it may very well be that with some load power is cut. At least that was my experience with a single motor on V2 receiver attached to unmodified battery pack with non rechargeable batteries.
  9. In my experience nothing PF can power a buggy motor to its full potential without some tweaks. The best option is modifying the 9v battery box remove the thermal protection and then attach the motor to it using a switch. Then use the receiver with another motor to operate the switch.
  10. It is absurd but man it is pure Lego greatness.
  11. It happened to me too, Amazing model.
  12. The V2 receiver will overheat and cut power to the motors, bu won't get damaged. edit: nice sketch btw.
  13. There are "3 sides" so perhaps sideways...
  14. If the part is asymetric as to allow an easy insert of the ball from one side but not from the other? That way it can be inserted and rotated 180 degrees to face tension from the tight side
  15. With its cross design with dual holes is pretty easy to reinforce the arm if necessary, so no, I do not think that over time it will break. Is just a matter of understanding the part design, the forces involved and using it properly.
  16. I think that focusing on the future of the HoF and not the glorious past of custom models is a more sensible aproach. Everyone knows what inspired them, so why don't you just build, become HoF worthy and inspire others? edit: and when I say you (stupid english) I am not addressing a single specific individual
  17. For applications where an axle is used, use axles 1 stud longer and half bushes if you need the axle to stay put by frction. I don't think it is a problem, the axle hole provides a lot of options.
  18. Anyways I don't think the backlog is going to go to.... ¿2008?
  19. Looking at the boxes the dozer is roughly a 42006 and the pickup closer to 42000 than to 42006. So closer to 50£ (dozer). and 75£ (Pickup) I think
  20. The box is same size as 42006, so I guess rough part count too. 42006 B model was a tracked tractor but there are strong resemblances. I was expecting something in the line of 8275 but this is obviously a smaller set. Disappointing but an ok set if priced as 42006 I guess.
  21. Think of the B model of 42006. Now look at the dozer again
  22. Now that I see it... there was no need for a picture
  23. The problem with dust is that given enougth time and some ambient humidity a thin layer encrusts and it can't be dusted, needs to be washed... and brushed. I found this worked best for me (to prevent washing) Every now and then I toroughly remove any dust by vigorously "brushing" all the surfaces while holding the vacuum cleaner close to the brush
  24. It is like 3 orders of magnitude lower than sunlight exposure. Perhaps after a few years some decoloration will be noticeable but the abs will stay strong.
