I have never entered any of the comps but think this sounds like a great idea :) -

Sadly no, it was inside the tray of a truck to keep some beams in position. -

When I pulled down 8071 I did end up finding a use for that part in one of my mocs to hold some beams in place so it is useful. -
Following some feedback I have now made some changes to my LEGO Technic Seaplane MOC. I have changed the mounting beams of the floats to remove the bottom beams, they are also now connected differently to the bottom of the plane. I have added a black stripe along the side of the cabin and rear section. I have also made some other changes to the body work in places.

Thanks, I will make a point of noting that in my future MOCs. -

Modifying Lego: Acceptable or Heresy

Another question: If you build a MOC and this has "modified" parts in it, is this something which should be making a point of when presenting it? -
I have just found these ads while doing some searching. Do you feel they are appropriate or not? http://thisisnotadvertising.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/legodrugs.jpg http://thisisnotadvertising.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/legosex.jpg http://thisisnotadvertising.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/legoviolence-1.jpg

I agree about the propeller, I am going to try and track down something better :) I generally just look at what other Technic MOC's people have built, photos and information on real life seaplanes and then write out what features I want it to have, a scale and some rough sketches. I spend enough time in front of a computer during the day so prefer to stay away from them for my down time :) If I can find a way to keep the floats level then I will remove the beams. I had a bit of a look at that yesterday and have some idea. I still would like to build your c model of 42029 when you have instructions, no rush ;)
