I've just noticed city corner blending in well with the old 1990's Octan gas station.....perfect colour match.
-
Now that would make sense, an add-on for the town square set.
-
In a way we would preferred another shop or structure over a large crane.......maybe it should have been a two part set.......one part construction and the other part general day=to-day living.....shopping, eating out and catching a bus. Though I do think the new crane is not as long body wise as the 2009 one.

Now that's one maxi-figure scale kitchen 'lisqr', I the cabinets and fixtures too ! Brick On 'lisqr' !

Well the humble base plate is half thickness......so double up......er, I guess it's cheaper to use 8x16 full thickness plates instead.....makes life easier that way, but you have your city your own way.

Does it sell Duff ? The drunk out the front....great touch 'LCM'......Brick On Drink On (but not too much ) !
-
Nice paint tinting machine 'LCM' , not bad interior.....whew at least no one has decided to do a hardware store showdown eh ? Great work and Brick On 'LCM' !
-
Impressive, very impressive indeed and yes, more photos when you can 'Hrw-Amen' and Brick On !
-
Perhaps the bus isn't wide enough eh ?

Thanks 'LT12V', 'monsinjor' and 'soccerkid6' for your kind words, and yes the kids ready did enjoy the display.....but the funny thing was back in 2011 kids just wanted to push the trains around the track and in 2013 they kept on asking to see my other two running......I had to explain that they had no motors in them and my little red engine couldn't push or pull them very well. Hopefully for 2015 I'll have a PF train for more guts......Brick On !

Interesting to see people saying the crane is not too small......it's 8 wide....though I wonder what's it length is compared to the 2009 crane in the construction site set ? Edit - I've just noticed something about 60026......it's a huge accessory pack where the vehicles and buildings are the accessories. Let me explain......look carefully at what you get in the set. A statue....stand alone, bus stop sign.....stand alone, pizza bar....stand alone.....see the direction this is going - they are can be connected or not. there are no base plates involved. In city corner, the bus stop, pizza bar and bike shop were linked in a way involving base plates....the good old 8x16's, but this set there are none. It means you have to buy base plates to build your town square up....also means that the bank and TRU shop would have to transferred to normal thickness plates so they'll fit the new style of city building.

Nicely modified fire truck....for that extra reach and a very impressive building......tons of interior detail.....any guess where the fire started......guns on the top floor ? If the fire got worse, the fire fighters could have fried fish for lunch ! Brick On 'olrad 72' !
-
I will join the chorus.......AWESOME layout ! And that rounded frontage fire station is just the bomb......I it the most ! Wonderful town layout 'Cran' and Brick On !
-
Now that idea has potential, since we have got a plumber and soon a house painter, I'll say it again....something like a hardware store or builders supply with lots of tools, doors, plumbing fixtures and tins of paint.
-
Now that's a delightful and beautiful selection of classic sets there 'LEGO Historian'.....you could say.....'Ah, the good old days'.
-
True, but with the title 'town square' what comes to your mind.....a huge crane ? How does the sign and statue reach the town square ? A more compact crane but with still the reach on it plus a flat bed truck would have been better.....plus an extra construction worker......one crane operator and one other worker.......not very real life.....you need another 5 standing around with their shovels !

[REVIEW] 76009 Superman: Black Zero Escape
lightningtiger replied to Plissken's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the excellent review 'Plissken', the figures are great, the pod nice but the other feature....seems like a corner cut to meet a price point again. I'll buy it......I'm a sucker for super hero sets now days second to city ones that is. Brick On Review On 'Plissken' ! -
Funny how back 50 years or more ago printed bricks was no problem......now days it's the DSS. Thanks for the images 'LEGO Historian' and Brick On !
-
I have more an issue with the crane being so big than any issue with the buildings in the town square set.......but a serious WTF is that odd looking green tractor and there's no cricket pitch in sight !
-
Thanks 'Danpb' for your kind words, now I have just finished off my extra non-city builds today......TMNT lare and the Quin-Jet....so the butchers shop and delivery van can get started....so keep watching !

Thanks 'ER0L', yes I had lots of fun entertaining tons of young kids ....letting them start and stop the train. Also the scrap bins so they could go nuts creating interesting vehicles or what ever....an odd space shuttle come turbo prop plane and a great looking heavy tow truck....nothing also beats a child's imagination.
