New Zealand: "Where to find Lego"
Bricktrain replied to Legoman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
When I called Lego about it late last year, they said due to the recall it was due for rerelease later this year, I dont know if it has been yet or not. It is on the Lego website, and cheaper than it was. -

The stock showing in the store should be the correct inventory, though occasionally mistakes happen but then the seller should let you know when they send you the invoice, and have credited the order, or submitted a cancellation for that part. Many sellers if they do have a piece missing from an order will ask if you want to complete the order or cancel entirely, as that piece may have been the only reason you were buying from them. I have recently bought from Germany and the shipping (post) is usually just over a week. The time for a seller to pack and ship will vary, but usually is less than a week, a lot of sellers will ship the same day you pay. Feedback is a reasonable indication of a seller, so it is good to check their recent feedbacks, also check store terms pages, if you think you are unsure or dislike the terms look at another store or ask the seller to explain. -

Welcome. I havent been on here long myself. What do you want to know about Bricklink? I have been a member there for about six years and lately have been doing too much buying. I also have a store there but not much available at present as I am building some large projects and dont want to sell anything I might need. Cheers Paul -

Bricktrain replied to davidmull's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There are white ones new on BL for about $13US. I only have blue, new or used, the cheapest used one on BL is $18 US,new about $26US. -
I have had a play with some of the parts I have and a few from BL and so far its looking like this, I quite like this for the shape of the hull.

One is white, the other is blue, which is best depends on which colour suits your model best, they are functionally the same. Lego education is probably the cheapest, they will only have white though. Bricklink will be the other source, blue are getting expensive as they are currently not available in sets. Maybe I should list some of mine -
Trailer for 8258
Bricktrain replied to Mtx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I have now used the 5x11 frames vertically between the 11x5 panels with another 5x11 frame between the bottom of the two rows of frames. Of course this means the deck is 5 thick but it seems to be the strongest way. -
I hadnt looked at that yet, I have just started building one also as I have about 90% of the parts in my collection but I dont have those, looks like they have been moving steadily from the BL priceguide. I had thought about new colours for the greengrocer but not the Cafe. I guess Black or Dark Bluish Grey would be the easiest, I wonder how they would look.

Wheres the best places to pick up UCS
Bricktrain replied to thegurumb's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Pieces or sets? For collectable sets, sellers may send a picture, but if you are a new buyer, and your English is not proper, I wouldnt be expecting too many replies. That is not really how the Bricklink system works. Sorry. -
You can download the instructions from the Lego website Lego.com instructions If you want stickers for the 8285 towtruck I have a few new sheets left, unfortunately I only kept one set of the instructions books but they are all downloadable. Of course I recommend 8285, it is the set that got me interested in Technic again and in my opinion the best looking of all the technic trucks. 8421 I was going to buy but was disappointed with the Lego set so built my own mobile crane. Of course mine will never be completely finished as everytime I think I have, there are new pieces released, which means I have to rebuild it to improve it. 8258 is a good set but it just doesnt give me the inspiration that 8285 does.

Favorite set that I own is definitely 8285 Technic Tow Truck. The set I wish I owned most, 10019 Rebel Blockade Runner.

Bricktrain replied to skymapper's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I have tried all sorts to get it to run on my laptop but it wont, fortunately works on my desktop so do all my work on there, though that doesnt have a net connection so I am a bit limited to what I can do. -

Bricktrain replied to rjk1977's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I guess its only stickers and instructions you need, unless you want the box as well, but I could sell you sticker sheets and instructions if you want to contact me. -
someone posted a link in train tech to a store with enlighten sets, they have a large range of pirate sets listed http://www.a2ztoy.com/shop/index.php?cPath=54_77&osCsid=72abf95ce3790fc897348dee2d26a640

I like this, especially the tree with the bird on top, so simple yet so effective

Are you building for a theme? Your main bridge is looking interesting, lots of detail there.
-
At a guess I would say the uprights are 1x1 bricks or round bricks with plates with clips to hold the lattice. I wish you could buy those Tan Burps.

if you know of a cheap cafe corner get it, otherwise I believe the next is about sept.

I felt the shuttle was lacking in colour a little so added a few coloured pieces to it as well as an undercarriage with wheels so it will be able to roll in and out of the hangar when built. I also found the crawler was not going to be big enough for fitting the NXT components so I have had to change plan and fit power functions instead. It also needed more colour and details. The engineers have finished for the day so have picked up their toolbox and heading back to base Not a good pic of them in the cockpit with their displays, the controls are joysticks

These sets sometimes have the metallic silver pin connectors and wheels, might be worth mentioning if yours has. One of the best technic sets in my opinion, made me get back into Lego again. looks great with chrome http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4913591 -
Thanks all Unfortunately I cant show what I intended to do as LDD wont let me put it there, but have to keep some surprises for the finished project anyway Cheers, the plan is for that to be an NXT controlled engineering vehicle that can drive around without hitting things, just a simple program as I havent really done much NXT yet. There is a MM style tank in the scifi MOC index you might like then.

HEAVY HAULER
Bricktrain replied to Cheng Fei's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks great, on limited internet at present but I will look later at the vid and other pics, the suspension on the trailer looks interesting. -
look forward to those if they are as good as these. Brickbeards airship makes me think of the ship that Robert De Niro was captain of, in the movie Stardust
