  1. So is that to say they aren't canon? I've never quite understood their connection to the main Ninjago universe.
  2. Agreed, I want these mini-heroes to be around for quite some time. If they were to create play sets however, I wouldn't want them to be basic looking buildings and whatnot. I'd be expecting at least a few Technic pieces for design rather than function (I know buildings are done with bricks, but I would still love to have a building structured with Technic pieces). I also like the way these sets came out more so than other years, of course I haven't psychically held very many HF sets, though I didn't enjoy the most that I did. Also, I feel body and hand-held detail comes out better in full-scale action figures, but faces come across better with smaller characters. On another note, I wish HF or any other theme would introduce more ways to builds faces for females. I find it very hard to design a female characters who doesn't share a face with a pre-existing character when brick-building one is so hard. This is part of the reason why I prefer the mini-heroes. They tend to have more potential for faces.
  3. Gamora looks amazing. I have high hopes that Yondu gets his fin and that Nebula ends up being the blue figure seen rotating on the figures display at New York Toy Fair. If that is the case then Marvel will have released 3 female figures this year: Mary Jane Watson, Storm, Gamora, and Nebula. Of course I'd expect them to release 2 females for GotG considering there are at least 3 major female characters in the movie. This is all hypothetical right now of course.
  4. Seeing as how the past 5-6 episodes of the Simpsons (maybe more, I don't watch that often) had special couch gags and almost no episode this season had the traditional one, a couch gag competition is just begging to be made! And I was completely unaware that we had a Superheroes month here, was this before I joined (see the info under my avatar) if so, I wish I'd had gotten into the online community sooner.
  5. Thanks for the news! Thank the movie lords I have a Netflex, the Clone Wars (is in my not so humble opinion) one of the greatest CGI animated shows I've ever seen, cannot wait to watch the remaining arcs!
  6. Wow, so I'm surprised no ones brought up events yet. I currently don't have money to MOC and so forth, I have 3 years worth of Lego to catch up on, but when I do, I'd like to be able to participate in forum wide activities. The Pirates forum is currently running the team-work competition, the Special themes forum had the Christmas run a couple of months ago, and doesn't Star Wars have it's own Heroica type game? Not to mention how often the community builds show up over at the Historic forum, which also has the Guilds of Historica backing it up. I understand Mod's are busy, Cornelius and Clone O' have 2 (or more) years of reviews to catch up on, as well as handling what I can only assume are daily reports. But one could also argue that Pandora has power here and can run activities, but she's also a Mod in Friends discussion's, the Special themes forum, as well as being what I consider one of the most active Mod's in the Website forum. So we have quite a bit of help here in the Licensed forum, and considering past posts, for good reason too. I just hope that when any Mod gets the chance, we start seeing community builds and events.
  7. I can see Gamora piloting that ship, she looks great! Starlord doesn't, though, I'm sure his printing will be top-notch. And on regard to how Lego's handling this DC theme, I don't agree with it. Lego has a lot of potential for sets and minifigures that we all know they can pull off, we've seen them create great villainous hideouts, we've seen them design great looking and stylish vehicles, so there's no reason for filler like the Batplane. There's a reason I collect Lego, and it's because they fascinated me with their builds, heck, Lego's design and build techniques find ways to wonder me with almost every new set! So when they create a wave with 1 new villain, who we basically already had, repeat vehicles, and "fillers" like that Bat-sub and plane, then yes, I believe it's time for a wake up call. Lego as a company has presented us with plenty of great things in the past, the fact that this DC (and partially Marvel line, though that GotG set looks great) is an exception to Lego's talent, is a problem. And if it wasn't, we wouldn't be discussing it. I'm going to try to say this without sounding rude (forgive me if I do, I sometimes type things that don't exactly come out the way I wanted them too), but do you know much of the DC universe outside of Batman? He has layers, and isn't all what the cinematic universe shows him to be. The Killing Joke is the embodiment of that statement. And there's more to the DC universe than Batman. When you have StormWatch, the Demon Knights, the Justice League, Teen Titans, secret six, plenty of solo comics and more, then why use Batman as your prime example? There's a lot more to the DC universe than him.
  8. Wow thanks for showing us the 'Lego Historian'! I was always under the impression that old Lego sets were, terrible. You have now shined a light in my eyes that they are indeed of quality, and surpass that of sets released in the 00's (some, not most or all). They are definitely more filler and useful than the cars we see repeated quite often now. The cars I don't agree with, but I'm not so sure when it was that they came up with the wheel solution anyways, so I'm sure brick-built cars weren't a thing during these time periods. Lego Historian, are any of the latter images yours? Or are these pulled pictures from the internet? I don't believe colored images were around for very long (not so great with these kind of things) and if so, you have quite the collection. I envy this display, be it yours or an official display, it looks great! Also, punch-buggy no punch back! Had to, just so many Volkswagen's in one place.
  9. Great review ch_ris127. I agree, Eglor is a great minifigure and this is one of the must buy sets of the theme. Though when going for Chima, I usually go big or go home (larger pricier sets since you can "summarize" minifigures and important locations through those). I'll see if I pick this one up, looks nice but there's just so much to squeeze into 2014's collection!
  10. I think he meant sets that were likely to be produced, the Avengers Tower is probably what he meant by Mansion, and Dr. Doom's tower is the only likely one of those you mentioned to get made.
  11. Ok so I know it's not exactly a Eurobrick's type of thing to quote someone on something they said 2 years ago, but thank you. You were last online today, I think that makes quoting this alright (it's not about opinions, so I don't think I can get in trouble for something someone could have changed their minds about). This comic is great, I'm only on page 105 or so, somewhere in the early 100's, but it's very good. Seriously, anyone who knows anything about Sandman (or how to use Google) or is a true DC fan and can catch all of the comics little references, will love this. I can't wait to finish it off!
  12. Not a silly opinion, diversity is (especially for this line) a great thing, I think I once heard a quote about taking things to the excess, and I think that is the problem with the Bat's. Warner Bro's just aren't that great at making movies whereas Disney is, so Lego will not make many characters when they know kids don't like anyone of them but the only one Warner Bro's really managed to pull off, and that's Batman. Hopefully there's a silver lining to this all, I'd hate for this year to go by a waste for DC. I don't know if you're joking, but I totally agree with this, someone or something needs to show the world that there's a reason DC is one of the top 2, a reason why people don't revolve around Batman, and this may just be that waking call.
  13. But does a set that revolves around Cop's and a police dropship and just so happens to include Batman, really count as a DC set? I would hope not, that would mean less DC sets and more excuses to not give us diverse sets.
  14. Well at first, I too thought the green haired female was Toxita, in fact I even think some of the members here thought so too, but now the bowler hatted green skinned individual is Toxita, but I'm no expert with names. I do think however, that early descriptions showed that there was an all green figure who is Toxita, so perhaps the above posters aren't as crazy as I am!
  15. Well in your opinion at least, I was just really hoping for new sets after we got a remake of both the Bat-Copter and the Batmobile this past wave, and the fact that we only got 1 non Batman character, I'm sick of Batman, but I don't want to kill this thread by saying so, I think you've all gotten the point. Hopefully this means other sets may slide on through this year but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  16. I know the Brickshow isn't dumb enough to put their reputation on the line for a rumor, so I guess I'll take this seriously for the moment, I hope it's not true though, but what are the chances?
  17. Ok, so I'm sort of in a tough spot choosing comics and Lego, obviously I like both. Scott Snyder's current run on Batman is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews, and I have to jump on the bandwagon on that one, it's great. Also, if you're interested in the Birds of Prey, it's had some pretty good arcs and though I haven't kept up with it in a while, it's pretty good for what it is. Right now I'm starting ot really get into Vertigo, the Sandman is (from what I've heard) one of the best comics out there, I'd pick it up instantly! Also, I just might be picking up Fables or V for Vendetta soon and "report" here when I do, I'm hearing nothing but good things from Vertigo, and Image seems like a major hitter too.
  18. Almost the exact same thing, except it wasn't enough to make me turn my head. I felt that
  19. Hmm, I was under the impression that the Green haired female would be our Toxita, but now discussion is making me think that all green-face bowler hatted figure is Toxita, and it makes sense. Now I'm wondering who this green haired female is, and if she is a bad guy after all. The lack of a suit already has something going for her. Also, did anyone else think Chase McCain when they saw the agent in the Infearno set?
  20. Well right next to the font, on the left, there's a green sort of window looking thing, that simply browsing your mouse over will say "Special BBCode" you just click on that, and then scroll down the options to spoiler, and type! Hope this helped.
  21. The picture originally came up blue for me, weird. But the variant does look like a reprint of the Nolanman variant, not the BTB variant.
  22. Hello Oky, you're probably wondering why I'm on your profile page, well worry not! I was scanning through Eurobricks yesterday and came upon one of your posts, and as usual I awkwardly visited someones profile because I was bored. But then I noticed, "tomorrow is his birthday" - says yesterday Freddy. So I came by to say happy birthday and make you wonder why I wrote all of this. I talk WAY too much, but hope you spent it well! It's 9:30 here on the East coast, so...

  23. Welcome to Eurobricks Zenerius! The welcome isn't so overdue though, it's barely been a month!
  24. Ah ok thanks. When you say custom printed Phoenix, do you mean 'the' Phoenix, the X-Men character?
  25. That is the last thing I wanted to here at this point, I really hope it's a lie, or false, or something. All Batman sets all year, no UCS's or D2C's for Marvel, and the next one, of all characters to use is Batman. Maybe if it had potential for more minifigures, but no, another Batman. And looking back at the new variant of Batman revealed in the March calender, the torso is literally a reprint of the 2013 Nolan Batman, which is also interesting. Though the Bat symbol in the March calender Batman is blue, and I don't recall a blue Bat-sign in any of Nolan's movies. This is all just a huge let-down, why not just rename the line: "Lego Batman and the occasional friend we are contracted to release every 2 years or so". But I'll try to stay optimistic, but the Brickshow's reputation can hang on a thread if this is false, and I doubt they'd take that risk if it weren't true, which makes me even more annoyed. But this may also open the door of possibility just a bit more for other DC sets this year, hopefully with good builds and new characters, which I think was almost completely absent in the Winter Wave save Flash and Batgirl.
