Some info regarding the new Death Star "(Rough) Google Translation: 1) **LEGO® Star Wars ™ Death Star (75159) = UCS Set** Many there have already suspected: The new Death Star is a set of the Ultimate Collector Series (UCS). But do not rejoice too soon, because it behaves here like the LEGO® Star Wars ™ Assault on Hoth (75098) Set. For me, this is certainly not a reason to celebrate. 2) **LEGO® Star Wars ™ Death Star (75159) = Play Set** Yes, the new Death Star is again a play set. As just mentioned, the joy is about the same as last discussion cause UCS set. While some fans will welcome another Star Wars play set, this may be for other fans one of the reasons not to buy the Death Star. The similarity of the model to its predecessor set (10188) is actually striking, even a Tie Advanced Hunter again belongs to the scope of the new sets. 3) **4,016 parts for 499,99 Euro** The new Death Star will have 4,016 parts. By comparison, the final Death Star (10188) consisted of 3,803 parts and included 24 minifigures. The new model will cost 499.99 euros, 80 euros more than its predecessor. I hope that this will change anything on price. 4) **Sales start on October 1, 2016** According to my information the LEGO® Star Wars ™ Death Star (75159) will go on sale from October 1, 2016th Together with the new LEGO® Star Wars ™ Rogue One Sets. Power synonymous sense because the Death Star quasi starring in the new movie. 5. **VIP presale from September 15, 2016** As we know from the LEGO® Store Calendar for September know two sets in the VIP pre-sale will be available from 15 September. The first set is the LEGO® Creator Christmas Train (10254) , the other set is the new Death Star. 6. **And these mini figures are** Like the last model, the Death Star again has 24 Minifigures, you can expect somehow to be even with the selling price. Here the designer in Billund certainly have again done a great job, because numerous figures have been revised to shine in a new outfit. My favorite is the blue Imperial astromech. I do not want to keep you in suspense, enclosed is the exclusive overview of the characters, which are included in the new Death Star: Grand Moff Tarkin Imperial Officer Imperial Navy Officer Imperial astromech Chewbacca C-3PO R2-D2 Han Solo Han Solo (disguise) Luke Skywalker (disguise) Luke Skywalker (final duel) Luke Skywalker (Tatooine) Princess Leia Obi Wan Kenobi Darth Vader Death Star Gunner Death Star Droid Emperor's Royal Guard Emperor Palpatine Stormtropper Death Star Trooper" Translation provided by /u/TheAnt06 on /r/lego Some thoughts: Yes, it's a playset, but so long as it's one whole structure like the last one I don't mind. Assault on Hoth was too scattered and too many independent things. If it's mostly an upgraded version of the previous set, so be it and I highly doubt people will hate it as much. There's plenty that can be improved with new techniques and pieces anyway. I'm curious as to what the difference between the imp. officer and imp. navy officer is. Maybe one is a crewman?

/r/legostarwars It uses a gold bar piece... interesting. And another scala dish! But dbg again. The back sticks out a lot. Not quite sure what that rear compartment is beyond storage. I also am not a fan, the lack of depth is a big factor for me. That and it means it's really weird to use the headpiece with the goggles worn. At least they haven't decided to make a new mould like the Rebel hat with goggles where they were ridiculously oversized though!

Newbie from Mars. Well Manchester but let's call it Mars.

Hooray, you finally managed to join after all that hassle. -
Looks good - the commander's communicator/controls definitely looks much better.

Considering the last Death Star set wasn't purely ANH, it wouldn't surprise me if there was something RO related in it. I don't believe it's been confirmed though.

Actually, the torso print is quite accurate for most naval troopers as they have no belt boxes and a single-breasted tunic. I am quite curious about the new TIE pilot design having belt boxes though - never seen one with them so far, guess we shall see.

Contrary to everyone else, I am least excited about the AT-ST. The tank will definitely be my first purchase.

Well, clearly the Asogian explorers travelled through a wormhole, which not only brought them to our bit of the Milky Way but also to our present time. Therefore it all makes sense! -

The name is now part of Legends, but... And they will probably be re-canonised, as they are seen in TPM. -
Quite honestly I think the Lego version is much nicer looking. The shorter wings look far better. Black looks nicer for it than dark grey too.

It hasn't been the strongest year for Lego Star Wars, but I think it's a bit much to say it's the worst year ever. The Rogue One sets look pretty good and we haven't seen the Death Star yet to judge. I agree that the Freemaker sets are frustrating, but there's only two. They haven't invested loads into it. Minifigure variety has always been an issue. Leg printing is fairly standard and our primary issue with under-detailing is lack of arm printing. Also lack of dual moulding on legs when compared to Superheroes, but that doesn't make the minifigs the weakest ever. The Resistance flight helmets and combat helmets, whilst technically 2016, are dual-moulded and are absolutely superb. The battle packs have been excellent. The Freemaker figs have been excellent. Many 2016 minifigs have excellent designs. I kind of want the new HAVw6 Juggernaut just for Quinlan Vos and Luminara Unduli. Speaking of the Juggernaut, yes its smaller but its far better built. It is substantially less flimsy. What we've seen of the Rogue One minifigs also looks very good. Whilst the summer wave has been weak the rest looks excellent.

Not an entirely new minifig, but I'd love for phase I clone pilots to receive a new helmet mould.
-
I'm very glad they haven't included the stud-shooters in the main sets (except to be part of a vehicle). I can see why they're fun for kids and they are very well made, but I don't see why Lego can't include both the stud-shooters and some normal blasters. Best of both worlds!
-
Lego seem... relucant to change the colours of special lightsaber hilts. I don't know if they would need slightly different moulds or what to change it. They could've made the Ventress-style curved hilt in metallic silver with Ahsoka, but didn't.

This is looking really, really good. I am going to have to upgrade my copy of your first version at some point.
-
If it's only a hip update, it won't be too bad. Redesigning anything else though will be a pain, because other than hips the current design is perfect.
-
A stormtrooper, snowtrooper and a navy trooper? Yas I am getting this. This is excellent. Wonder why they didn't give the Bespin Wing Guard a normal handblaster?
-
There are plenty of guides about making custom decals for faces, torsos and legs but how about helmets? In particular, phase I and II clone helmets. Has anyone here done it?
-
They have never, and will never, do packs like those for Star Wars due to licensing issues with Hasbro.
-
I miss that too, although it's pretty much impossible to really go back to that. Revealing sets closer to their release rather than everyone knowing about them months in advance is better for hype though. Enough time to get excited, not enough time to start forgetting about them.
-
Clones started to be phased out and 15 years into the Empire many had been retired, but some were still around even by the events of RotJ although it was a rare sight. When they got retired from active service they instead generally taught new recruits.

Especially since her eyes are like human eyes and only the pupils are blue. Would definitely look better with regular eyes (as would Hera). Rather... boring interior.
-
I don't entirely see why they needed to have a different design for them in the first place. Is it to make the design used for stormies in OT sets rarer? Sigh. On the bright side, at least no Rebels minifigs have CW-style eyes. Ugh. I'm pretty sure if they used Col. Yularen's torso people would murder them. It's not even a close representation. They will definitely have a unique print. And it will be white. It has to be. I'm presuming the gold epaulettes are just going to be little gold bits at the top though, no way to show them actually going over without some super unique part. Governor Pryce may have the same rank plaque but she only has 2 code cylinders. In the past, less code cylinders meant a higher rank within the same badge. Guess that's being reversed now, which kinda screws up how ranks are done. Sigh. Interestingly, whilst she is a planetary governor, her rank indicates she is above a moff (5 blue over 3 red and 2 gold).
-
They're going to have Rebels-style designs though. Sigh.

To be fair, not all clones were infantry. It's not really a stretch to imagine a few shuttle pilots being clones.
