  1. Sandcrawler and AT-AT look good. Remnant snowtroopers look so much better than the renders. I like that they have kneeguards now. RE the whole Mando in every set I think him only having the one outfit heightens that. Han was in a lot of Solo sets but he's constantly changing clothes so less repetitive.
  2. I disagree re new troopers looking good. The visor looks absolutely huge and inconsistent with regular snowtroopers.
  3. Light grey arms & legs for the shuttle is a weird choice. The pilots wear black flightsuits, like TIE pilots. It's a faded black so I could see using dark grey like they did for Bodhi Rook but light grey? Really?
  4. Unfortunately, despite saying last year I'd hope to join, it's financially not going to work out what with all money going towards a wedding now. Hope you guys have fun and hopefully I can join again in 2027.
  5. Yes, I ended up realising a few hours after posting. I had been basing it on this part of the Wookieepedia article: "and the MC40a's clamshell-like keel was the same as the MC30C Frigate" as well as the picture on the article. Not sure if the Mel Miniatures model is a canonical appearance but I found that this morning and it's more like the heavy cruisers. There's no concrete length as even for Legends it says between 500m and 600m. The Mel Miniatures one also had the variance in width vs the other image looking almost straight. I will try and do something as I want a mini fleet but building in this scale is definitely something I'm not good at!
  6. I want to try adapting the MC30c to be an MC40a light cruiser. I am utterly stuck on how to do the raised bits on the slope at this scale. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  7. Thank you. Unfortunately, not yet. I'd like to make instructions at some point but I'm unlikely to have time until the summer. Thank you. It was important of me to get as many details as possible considering it's basically a grey box with some angles! And the cargo gives it some colour.
  8. The Imperial Troop Transport has 2 drivers and can carry up to 20 passengers - here pictured with 19 stormtroopers, half a platoon led by a lieutenant. I also included an alternate roof with an opening hatch as seen in later seasons of Rebels as well as the cargo carrying variant, where the cargo can be swapped around and take entirely new cargo. Credit to Rob van Leeuwen for the passenger bay roof design - I could not find an alternate version that I liked.
  9. 74-Z speeder bike, able to be modified to have a passenger in order to recreate the Endor speeder chase. I had toyed with using a 3l bar to make it slightly more minifig scale (the bikes are short!) but I thought 4l gave slightly better proportions. I don't love minifigs being held in place only by handlebars but the bike is so tiny it felt more appropriate here.
  10. I really love this - particularly the wall greebles and the hidden piping etc.
  11. Just watched some SW set video demos. It's rather quiet and hard to hear. Maybe it's easier in real life but it seemed like an effort to get the music to play (and not even authentic music) and the sound of the Lego pieces being moved was louder. Seems like it might be fun for children to reenact dogfights with fighters but I'm shocked that some of the sounds were not authentic SW sounds. It makes it sound cheap and feel gimmicky.
  12. The TIE sounds alright. X-wing doesn't really sound like an X-wing. I also watched the one with the cantina and the music is not the SW cantina music and it's a struggle to hear it over the moving of the Lego pieces to make it play. The TIE sounds alright. 13. Ahh... new R2 with rotating head has a body with smart brick attached to back of torso, so it's flat. That makes me a lot less excited.
  14. Looks like I'm going to be saving some money. In a promo pic of the XL-wing they've got R2 with his head turned at 45 degrees - if astros can spin their heads now that's cool.
  15. Yes, thank you! I do think it looks too old-mannish - perhaps some printing for the hair he did have would have been good. The exposed stud doesn't bother me too much.
  16. Alas, Imgur is blocked in my country. I may buy the piece and try it anyway.
  17. There is but I think it's a little too 'old man-ish' for Picard.
  18. Looks excellent. I really like that Palpatine has a secluded area. Nice work on the doors too.
  19. Largely the new ones. But I dislike the new stormtrooper helmets and the hybrid realistic/animation style print for clone trooper torsos and helmets.
  20. Love a good Rock Raiders MOC. This feels suitably modernised yet classic.
  21. That's crazy talk. Where would we be without everything being turned into a side hustle? I completed several digital Star Wars MOCs in the last year which I shared in a group chat. Haven't posted any proper picturers anywhere because I want to make sure they work IRL and I had a few people suggest I put them on Rebrickable. I know it's a compliment but the idea everything has to be on there I just find a little exhausting. It also really frustrates me when some people churn out a lot of digital builds and put the instructions up for sale before checking it really works.
  22. Whilst I don't think the GWP looks very good I think it's rather dishonest of Lego to include a picture with it integrated into the DS hanger on the DS page. I'm still midly disappointed we didn't get more conference room officers and they haven't even bothered with dual moulding.
  23. Yar and Pulaski would need the earlier uniform and I imagine they wanted consistency. O'Brien would have been a good addition (considering no rank pips probably easy to make) but perhaps if they do well they'll do other ST sets and include him in a DS9 set? Although that's probably me being hopeful since it's less iconic.
  24. I recently ordered a 16x32 dbg baseplate on Bricklink and unfortunately it warped in the post. I've been trying to straighten it out by putting it in hot water and leaving it for a few hours under something heavy but to no success. Yesterday I went to 80C water for about 5 minutes and left it for about 8 hours but the bend's still there. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I could do? Alternatively, I plan on using it for a MILS plate. Does anyone know if it'll be straight with the pieces on top? If so, I may as well just get the pieces I need and not bother with the heat.
