Hi, Not sure where to post, so i'll start here. i'm looking to see if anyone lives near a lego store could pick up the nov and dec calendar and post what the specials are for these two months? wanted to know what i can pick up for christmas. :-P thanks in advance.

ah...good observation. i wasn't even sure what this year's BF set was. i thought it was going to come later. i think you are spot on since the airport is a 2006 set. target recycles sets every six months so it's almost 99.99% certainty that the airport will be this year's BF set. drat...i was hoping for SW sets...either sail barge or ISD. sail barge would have been excellent. i think it will be the new ebay set, replacing 4504. i.e. price will nearly double after a year. :-P it's just that popular. :-P

that's right. so far july and sept were racers sets. nov's set should be out next week. i must stress though that the sets are "random" (TLC's idea of random anyway :-| ) so i may get a diff set than the next person. but there should be enough members to post what they get to get an idea of what the sets for that month were.

wow...thanks for that. those are very clear instructions. as for my own contribution to this topic, i guess for those who are bothered by that little hole, you can patch it up with a little silicone gel or plastic/wood putty or even sculpey clay. just make sure the color match. quite easy to get a small tube from lowes or home depot, in black, white or colorless (transparent).

so, as a way of promoting the brand to girls, they will create lego n'sync sets? to maybe reach out to teenagers they could consider making lego of megadeth or other heavy metal bands? hmm...sounds crazy enough to work. :-P it's not sarcasm btw but not sure what the long term effect will have on the brand. incorporating rebelliousness into a brand certainly makes it popular with teens, without a doubt (kinda like how lilz brats dolls sell better than squeeky clean barbie). just doesn't bode well with the parents though.

i also started with OT only. then i sort of give up after a few months. with sets so well made (actually it's mostly the mfs but whatever), it's impossible for me to just stick to OT. :-P only problem is the price point. SW theme is expensive to collect. but i guess that's because of the higher quality that the designer put to the sets in that theme. *y* besides, CW has some really nice sets/parts. it also give me the flexibility to pick and choose what i want. for eg, ugly sets like EU's tie crawler is a pass for me. :-P and anakin's new hair piece = *y* so that's a yes for me. :-P

tough luck buddy. the 7776 AR set is an exclusive. so that means your chances are limited. only available from TRU or LS (incl S@H). now we know TRU clearance sucks. the batman is slightly better. it doesnt retail in target or walmart either, but you have a third option, amazon.com. i love amazon's clearance. the 06 batman sets were going for between 60-75% d/c with free shipping above $25 purchase. how's that for a clearance party eh? problem with amazon though is ebay scalpers. you gotta be quick with the purchase. so that means keeping your eyes wide open and absolutely know when they do clearance sales. :-P

asterios from classic-castle seemed to imply that what AFOLs have been screaming for will be the special 08 set to be revealed shortly in stores near you. question is does anyone know what it is? my theory (did i mention i love mosaic theories? :-P) is there are only three things which afols have been begging for that may be related to castle: - parts pack - ucs castle - civilian medieval sets of these three, which one is most likely to happen? - parts pack we pretty much know 2 from the impulse set, so what's the point of making more??? - civilian medieval sets - what could they possibly make that would be so good? i mean we like civilian sets but that's plural. still likely but definitely not a wow factor set. - which brings us to UCS Castle!!! wohoooo....i hope they make something similar to darkspawn's modular castle!!! that thing is awesome!!! what's your speculation and why? or if you know what the set is going to be, can you give us hints please!!!

umm, it just means it is messed up beyond any recognition. so what i meant up there is that if this ship becomes a set the lego version will not resemble the original at all. hence the messed up beyond any recognition. *replace messed with another word starting with F to get FUBAR. :-P

wood frame houses are cheaper for property tax. easy to mod too. don't like a room, just tear down the wall! :-P you don't need full brick anyway. just the exterior. there are houses which are fully bricked exterior but those are built around 1920s or earlier. hard to find these days. :-P besides, doesn't help with tornado since they rip the roofs open and tear at the inside. so wood or no wood, doesn't matter when there's no top. ;-) btw, i think we are digressing now. let's stick to topic....or topic can be closed now i think.

if you can afford it, get an acrylic display case. :-P don't ever need to bathe them again. ;-) issue with UV light though still exist. suggest to put your lego sets in the basement. :-P or cellar or whatchamacallit.

ah...there's the problem right there. i supposed you aren't familiar with US house size. in belgium house lots are probably modestly sized, no more than 2k sq ft i think. here in the states, everyone is obsessed with size. a standard lot is approx 10k sq ft. bet you won't want to mow after a year. :-P
