it's about 20lbs. you can't use normal cotton strings. you'll need the really strong nylon fishing string for that. unless your room is like a boiler, i doubt the strings will cut into the bricks. in an average room temperate of 70F (or 25C), it should be fine. but you will need lots of anchor points. if you hang by just 4 points that too much load per point. about 5lbs. if you have 8 evenly spaced, all weight bearing, then it's only about 2.5lbs each. the problem with more points though is that it's hard to balance all 8 so that they are weight bearing. surely one or two will have 0 load since the required accuracy with the length of each is next to impossible. so conclusion. only professionals can do it. i doubt the average amateur can. best to just display it on a solid table. :-/

i think our perception of the green men has been poison influenced by tolkien's LOTR and D&D. orcs are human size, trolls are large. goblins are imps. pixies are small, elves are taller, dwarves are shorter. there are other fantasy, fairy tales, folk lores that picture trolls as small and hunched but the general view is that trolls are large like giants. something that even shrek couldn't yet defeat. maybe when the current generation grows up, they may be influenced by shrek and green humanoids will then be known as ogre. :-P i think for consistency, it's better to just stick to lego given names: trolls and giant trolls. :-P otherwise as time goes on, we're going to have hard time trying to keep up with who's who. i hope to see cyclops or two-headed ettins for castle 2009!!!! gogo cyclops! :-P

well, one good thing out of EF 08 is that the sets are perfect as mf accessories packs. look at all those swords, chainsaws, "guns" (police laser scanners), etc. making tiny spy drones was a good idea too. the kids like them ;-) hope they go on clearance sale so i can arm my troll army! suddenly the lack of shields in most troll sets doesn't matter anymore. actually it makes more sense! the officers (in bronze helmets and pauldrons) will wield axes and shields. as for the common soldiers? dual wielding berserker trolls, baby!!!

PHEW!!! for a min there i was so, so, so lonely. glad to have someone share the same thoughts too. :-P i think she died. someone earlier said she did. maybe you can google it to find out.

an adult gorilla is much heavier than 300lbs. the usual reference in a quote is 800lb gorilla.

well, i'm lukewarm on this set. i would have preferred a decked out town hall over a front heavy set. i'm pretty sure all the buildings here are chopped in half with the back exposed. if only they used that 1981 pieces to make this *wub* *wub* *wub* *wub* plus i hope you guys realize the town plan was not built on base plates. :-P the "grass" is "painted" on. :-P

most likely the stickers were dislodged during shipping and wound up sticking to either the bags or the manuals. i had that happened to me a couple of times. and also most of my manuals have dogged ears. the problem is the packaging just isn't efficient and the large empty spaces just make matter worse. i think they should seriously consider designing smaller boxes. big boxes cost more to ship, damages manuals and parts from excess movement in the box (shake, rattle and roll, baby!!), take up too much shelf space, and cost more to make. i like how they packed the UCS MF. that's how every set should be packed. compact baby!!!

i'm thinking the vladek's helmet in the new metallic bronze color. i was hoping for a little more than just the mars alien pauldrons but that'll do for now.

great! we're getting the ogel pauldrons with the trolls! from up close the "supreme" wigs don't look so bad. i think it's a combo of the metal speckles and the shape that made it terrible. though i would have liked a release of the bullet helmet! :-P hope to see the troll swords in new colors!

yeah it's cool. i like the use of trans-color cones for bottles. i absolutely *wub* the new gas station set. the trans-black cones are awesome as coca-cola generic cola bottles. *y*

how do you know the shop is american, imperialshadows??? it might have been butchered by the dutch, the der wienerschitznel shop thingymagiy. :-P now's my turn to apologize to the entire dutch population. :-P

everyone has their favorite set so this is a really bad question. if you were to ask for value, i think the UCS MF will be the "ONE set" in about 5 years time. that is unless TLC were to create an utterly superior UCS set (non-SW included) that becomes the one single representation of the brick, the firm, and the logo. which is next to impossible judging by the audience's response of their one favorite set. :-P so UCS MF will have to be it since it was designed without a pre-determined price point, and just about everything was left to the designer's whim. tell me what other sets have that. :-P it's almost like a moc-in-a-box. :-P

crossbow attack set lacks shields. i much rather use either the chess or the catapult for army building. catapult is best since you get 2 foot soldiers with shields and 2 skeletons with shields too. bow and arrow, you will need to pick the castle siege for that.

i think he's got a point. my golden dwarf helmet also suffered the same problem as yours. the gold paint chipped off at the edges: the wngs, the small studs, and around the edges of the brim. and if that's just from the shipping of the boxes, i kinda dread to know what my 4yo will do to them. yup, i agree. i absolutely love the 3 colors of the dwarf mine set. the bronze, the gold and the silver. too bad all the axe heads are in bronze. now for more metallic euroarmors!!! gimme gold and bronze!! but also keep making those metal speckles too. >:-) they are for my skellies army.

wow...you guys are real addicts to the castle theme. i have 1 crossbow attack 2 final joust 1 catapult defense 3 skeleton carriage (one is free! from postopia :-P) 1 skeleton tower 1 castle siege 1 dwarf mine (just got it yesterday from TARGET!!! wohoo) with the new metallic silver armor, the impulse set is now looking extremely sexy to me and most likely will be my main army builder set. :-P not getting the ssa. that's crap imo. poor castle extension and bad ship and silly tricone skeleton.

i meant this. is that the bullet helm? bricklink referred to it as standard helmet, so i called it standard helmet. :-P it's currently pearl silver and looks horribly cheap. :-P

thanks hinckley! *wub* look at that thing!!! the grill helm & metallic armor looks fantastic!!! now all we need is a metallic silver standard helmet to go with the metallic silver visor and metallic silver armor. go go metallic silver color!!! edit: who was the joker who voted for printed pearl? :-P

oh oh...hope you don't wreck it with your custom decal. heard a rumor that the silver paint peels off, which is why they printed on pearl silver and not on metallic silver. :-P
