he did say he doesn't want to BL or eB. for new brown though i agree it's quick and cheap to just get from BL. you can get for 0.16 a piece for like 100 of them. i'm not sure how long you will need to get them otherwise.

all kids want to play with bigger kids. i know coz i was a kid once too (readers: what?? impossible! :-P). but bigger kids don't want to play with younger kids. they want to play with adults. and a small collection of adults wanted to role play kids and stalk other kids, etc. TLC can't get 100% satisfaction, they can only hope to get a good portion of the target audience while keeping them safe to avoid lawsuits. if you don't like it, get your dad or older brother to sign up. that way your dad or brother will be responsible for your safety.

nah...east coast tru or target stores are always slower than their great lakes counterparts. they had the dwarf's mine for almost 2 whole weeks before east coast. i'm suspecting approx the same time frame for indy. on the other hand, we still have hoth sets. :-P just got another 6 from TS TRU. can't carry more or i'll risk dmging the boxes trying to get home on the train. :-P hehe, when i left there were still 12 left on the shelves. going to get more tomorrow. they probably have more in stock. i'm going to get 7 more before i stop. :-P those who are interested should organize a trip to times square. :-D

you're most likely correct that there will be age groups but the ones you put up are poor categories. it would most likely be: 4-11, 12-17, 18+ there will definitely need to be one for 18+ to seperate the adults from the children. they don't want to have to deal with pedophiles lurking in the game that's for sure. as for the other split it's only sensible to split teenagers from the kids. i am guessing you are around the 9-10 age group, since you put such a strong emphasis on that age band. 0-8, 9-10, 11-99. hmm, a wide range elsewhere except for the middle which is only 2 years.

i would agree. the spider looks really cool. too bad we can't see how the combo mech looks like. instructions are not online yet. :-/ there should be another combo mech but you'll need the storm lasher set. :-P

i bought the AT-AT but i don't recall seeing "limited edition" plastered all over the box though. from what i could see, the sith infiltrator, the x-wing, the republic cruiser, hoth base and tie crawler are limited editions. then there's the dwarf's mine and the silly EF crawler set too.

not before i go way off topic by saying i just made a bunch of money by buying 5 more hoth set. that and i just save a bunch of money by switching to geico. :-P that doesnt make sense but so was this thread. :-P

maybe they meant one head with 2 printed sides like those EF heads? dunno...just playing devil's advocate here. :-P

not sure if you notice, the fish bus-driver has yellow hands but a green face. hope they fix this before it hits the shelves. :-P

yeah...seems like it. i don't know why they don't just recycle the golf balls from the y-wing set. i like to see more detailed pic of sandy too. i just don't see how her head can fit into that helmet. probably can't extract the head from the helmet but will need to wait for better pics. :-P

it's bruce wayne. batman has a nice white bandana which doubles as his eyes. :-P

thanks christian for the pics. what i need is a hi-res pic of sandy. it does seem like the fishbowl helmet is a new part. woohoo...just what i need. *y* at closer look, it seems as if there's no way to take sandy's head out of the fishbowl helmet. probably made of one single part. drat...hope to see either the actual set or maybe a higher res picture of that set soon.

crap. the secret store was in union, nj. had like 15 boxes of 7666 last friday. i went yesterday evening just to check and they have 0 left. none even in storage. must be another AFOL that got to that store before i did. i then went on a mad rush to scout out the other TRU nearby and no luck. will check out TRU times square today. edit: i went to check on TS TRU at lunchtime and it had 19 boxes left. when i went to buy some after work around 6pm, it only had 5 left, so i bought all 5. :-P the staff asked me to come back tomorrow to see if there are more in stock. they don't keep stock in the store but in some warehouse in jersey and they restock nightly. gonna buy more tomorrow. fingers crossed. oh and 6212 x-wing set is all out. so is 6210 sail barge. hunt for the limited edition and popular sets on!!!

no you cannot. you should just cancel that order, go to a lego store and order from there. you get free shipping if you order from the store too. depends on how far the shop is, the money you spend on gas might be cheaper than the shipping cost.

well, it showed six models. not counting the dud i got in jul/aug, the first one in sep/oct was racers, the second in nov/dec was the police/fire mini sets. that leaves 4 more to go. my guess is that it may not be an 08 BM set. could be 09? well, here's to hoping more exclusive MFs from the BM sets! hehe :-P

afaik TRU does sales nationally. never heard of regional sales event. only walmart and target have ymmv clearance deals.

are you serious? stop hyping things. There is no BOGO and certainly no sale unless you're talking about the arkham asylum, vikings and bionicles. did you go there or did you just read the circular and said there's a sale. they have 20% and 50% but on other toys and certainly not on lego.

nope, didn't buy any. EF is out of my radar totally. unless they start making better quality stuff than the gimicky monstrosity...i'm steering far away from it. :-P

i was at the lego stores in bridgewater, nj and they have the 08 EF sets. $15 and $8 for the small ones. the boxes are more gimicky this year. the mech is a cutout, and another cardboard is placed inside the box beneath the mech. the human sets are hedious. combo human sets are even more hedious. the robots combo looks way better. there's a scorpion mech you can form using the $8 and the $15 robot sets. i also saw the GITD racers sets. didn't see the price tag unfortunately. :-P no new castle or city sets though. :-/ and no hoth set and no infiltrator set. :-/

well, i need 2. 2 for resale in 6 mths to fund my purchase. 2 more to keep misb for crazy value in the future. :-P i would have bought more if i had the funds. :-D basement is filling up with misb sets. gotta sell my stock first.

hmm, i still see plenty of hoth base in my area. but nevertheless lest i live to mope about it in the "biggest lego regret" thread, i went ahead and bought 6 today after shopping for black friday doorbusters. :-D lego store in bridgewater was all out. had to get them at the ridiculous price of $60 ea from TRU. i did get the motorized AT-AT though from lego store. the staff at the store said there may be more hoth coming on monday. said to call first. so, i'm not sure if that's really true they are going out of stock. wasn't too lucky, got only 10% coupon. i got the castle chess for $40 (10% d/c and a $5 coupon) and the AT-AT for $112 (10% d/c and $5 coupon) and the naboo and darth maul magnet set.
