LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Aethersprite replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can't seem to find that video featuring the base. What's its title? Is there a link to a YouTube mirror? Much appreciated. :) -
Lovely! I especially dig the weapons and the feet. I'm loving these G2 revamps of G1 characters. Are you planning to do more? I still remember your awesome Gadunka!

Really? I found the Chima armour to be quite fitting, with the chains and all. It's hard to find a nice use for that piece, and I think it gels well with this MOC!

Just give me CCBS Takanuva.

LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors
Aethersprite replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Like the initial Rebels sets, there are 2 possibilities: 1) the posters are just concept art and the final design was tweaked to extend the lower portion of the wings, or 2) Lego was only given concept art to work with, and the final movie design was changed before Lego got a chance to fix their production design. -
LEGO CREATOR 2015 Rumours & Discussion

Not usually a fan of Creator sets, but the Blue Power Jet looks amazing. Gonna have to pick it up. Looking forward to see a review of it on EB! -
LEGO Star Wars 2015 Pictures and Rumors

I quite like the ship's design for some reason, so I'll probably be getting it. But I agree, it's a bit plain and boring. I do hope it has a decent interior to make up for that. And of course, a Kylo Ren minifig! -

This isn't prelim, but it's still not a great picture of the set. I'm loving what I'm seeing! I was expecting it to be white in line with how it was shown on some concept posters, but grey works as well. The wings fold out sort of Lambda-style to form a V shape as was seen in the trailer, I don't know why Lego didn't have it shown in that configuration on the boxart. Hopefully this set includes Kylo Ren! -

I love my UCS Slave I, and yes, Anio's points are not groundless. But all sets have their flaws, and I can live with mine! I fixed the floppy side panels with some mods, but otherwise I love how majestic it looks on my desk. Anyway, do we have a release date for the summer sets? -

It's huge! I'd gladly drop $100 (probably will end up being S$200 here...) on it. -

Screwed up how? Were we even promised a daily reveal of TFA sets? Lego has already said they'll be revealing the constraction figures at this event. That said, I would love a surprise reveal of a TFA set. Hopefully we get one tomorrow, the event's not done yet! -

I love the Lambda, and the new one looks like the original, but without the central wing and with the side ones flipped (see the trailer). Can't wait to get the Tydirium along with this one! -

Grievous doesn't look as good as I expected, that upper torso construction kinda bothers me. But I'm still getting him anyway! Heh. Obi-Wan looks surprisingly fantastic; unfortunately I probably don't have the budget to get him. -
Welcome Justin! Nice to see another fellow Singaporean here on EB! Enjoy your stay here!

Lovely. I especially love the use of the Tahu Mistika blades for his knee/shin armour!

Slave I Retrospective and UCS Comparison

Great write-up, thanks for doing this. I thought it was pretty long at first, but I'm glad I took the time to read through everything. Still haven't gotten my 75060, looking forward to build it! -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Aethersprite replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yes, and is it blue and white, like the original set? It looks grey to me, and I'm not sure I like Lego interpreting it in their own colours, though it won't be the first time they'd be doing it. -

We have a pretty good look at the Quinjet in the latest trailer - can anyone see if it's blue and white, like in the Lego set? The scenes are way too fast for me to tell, heh. Anyway, thanks for the input. I think I'll still get the Quinjet, though its interior isn't as good as I wanted it to be. It's still a nice vehicle and comes with a ton of desirable minifigs. -
Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
Aethersprite replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
You mean you can't fit a minifig with a hair piece inside the back of the new Quinjet, like Black Widow or Iron Man? I'm torn between the new Quinjet and the Milano. I only have space for one. I think the Milano is the better ship, but I'm leaning towards the Quinjet because there's a high chance it's the last time we see a Lego version of it. There are only 2 movies where it could appear again - Civil War and Infinity War. Civil War is next year and I doubt they'd release the same ship 2 years in a row. Infinity War will be more space-based so I doubt we'd see much of the Quinjet in it. So this might be the last chance for me to get a Quinjet. As for the Milano, it's almost guaranteed that we'd get an updated version of it in GOTG 2. Thoughts? -
Not gonna comment on the rest, mysteriouspi summed up my thoughts pretty well. As for the mask issue, it's just Onua for me. His mask rattles around on his head, it's pretty annoying. The masks of the rest of my Toa fit on pretty snugly.

Agreed on all points. My only gripe about Onua is that his mask is extremely loose - or is it just me? Anyways, he's hands down my favourite set this wave, and probably my favorite construction set ever. I built the last of all my Toa last week, and if I had to rank them, it'd be Onua > Kopaka > Gali > Tahu > Lewa > Pohatu. Gali is the real show stealer, I opened her last and didn't expect to like her so much. She's one of those sets you can just hold in your hand and marvel at all day. It could be that lovely new blue, or that gorgeous Kaukau, or the fact that I'm a huge fan of large pole weapons... Either way, everything comes together very nicely on her.

Give me Takanuva, and I'd happily take whatever walking guns Lego has to throw at us. In all seriousness, I think it's more likely we'd get new iterations of the Toa (Nuva please!), and I hope they bring something new to the table function-wise. The swinging arms are awesome, but I'd like to see something different.

Just built Gali yesterday, and I absolutely adore her. She's the last of all the Toa I build, and easily blows the other smaller sets away. I'd say she's easily one of my faves of the new Toa. The build isn't special, and initially I was a bit put off by her heavier use of silver and gunmetal (which I'm so sick of due to their prominence in HF), but they go so well with the trans-blue and azure. Also, the Kaukau is gorgeous. I was quite impressed by the Pakari and Kakama, but the new Kaukau is hands down my favourite of the new masks, even though it's the one that least resembles the original.

Fingers crossed for a store exclusive! It'd be quite neat, considering we haven't gotten a CCBS store exclusive yet. Maybe have the trans Gali mask with the exclusive set, and the trans Tahu one with the book.

That looks good. I might swap out my Tahu's torso for a Breakout torso; I have so many of those left over from Iron Man.
