Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Really looking forward to the new torso. I hated the exposed balljoints on the shoulders of my 2015 Toa. Also, seems like Phasma doesn't have an arm swinging function - was really hoping that she'd have one! -

Any idea if Batman in the Harley set has dual molded legs? It's hard to tell from the prelims.- 8,446 replies

As worried as I am that the waist swivel function might be floppy and loose, I'd rather not have them ratcheted. It'd defeat the purpose of having a function - kids want to bash their opponents with their set! And so do I.

I wasn't referring to its transparent-ness, but I get your point. It's a pity, though. Umarak's mask design has got to be my favourite of the 2016 masks. I'm a bit disappointed that the G2 villain masks have no powers, though I get why Lego might do that to "simplify" things. On voice actors, no Australian for Umarak please! I think it'd make him more goofy. He looks incredibly menacing and intimidating, IMO an Australian voice wouldn't fit.

Going back on topic, War Machine is going to have two shoulder cannons in Civil War - I wonder how Lego is going to pull that off. -

Definitely getting Kanan's Speeder and the Ghost microfighter! Thanks for posting these. -
I see, right. Does Umarak's sword hilt use that piece too?

But Lego's been especially tight on leaks next year, so we may not have such luck this year :( -

Nice mod! I didn't know 75060 had this issue. Thanks for the instructions, I'll be bookmarking this for when I have time to mod my Slave I :) -
LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Aethersprite replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
What? He's giving us exclusive information, why would there be pictures? Anyway, I'm going to laugh if that polybag set's wings fold out, since the actual large version's doesn't. -
Kopaka's sword uses the same hilt piece, too.

Ah, that makes sense. I was hoping for something along the lines of it flopping its tail, but I guess that's not feasible given Akida's size. Thanks for that clarification!

Yeah, it really sets them apart. I might modify Melum's claws to distinguish them more. I'm really loving the creatures! I hope Akida has some sort of Technic function, given its Technic mess of a torso. But that's unlikely; the two gatling stud shooters are probably replacements for a proper function.

Star Wars Constraction 2016 Discussion
Aethersprite replied to Logan McOwen's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Rey doesn't look so bad, to be honest - I think the headscarf helps. But yeah, the armoured characters fit the CCBS a lot better. Definitely getting Kylo and Phasma. -
Couple questions - Do the Skull masks have powers? Do you think Umarak's mask has a power? What do you think it would be?
-
Thinking about it, I can understand why Lego did that. I suppose the hinge joint is stronger than the original joint, so Onua can better hold up the hammer portion of his staff. But... Yeah, still not digging the asymmetry. By the way, are there pictures of Kopaka's back? Combining with Melum? All the Toa have a combining picture except for Kopes.

Some random thoughts! I'll go in-depth on the individual sets later. Lego shared my thought! Umarak looks great with Uxar. Also: Umarak with Terak. Wow. He looks surprisingly intimidating. Onua looks great, but I'm disappointed with the asymmetry of his upper arms. His right upper arm is the standard hinge ball joint, while his left upper arm is the new trans-purple bone, allowing his left arm to swing freely left and right (like the SW constraction figs) but the articulation of his right arm is still limited. Easily fixed, but I still can't understand why Lego did that. Nice to see that Gali uses a system brick to cover her lower back. Here's to more System-CCBS integration.

I think Boba is a given, Lego already has the helmet mold. I do hope we get more clones, they fit the CCBS aesthetic the best. -

Same, I just got him last week! One of my favourite CCBS sets of all time. The ankles are a bit wonky, but I can deal with it. Everything else - articulated shoulders, the torso build, the amazingly sculpted head - is perfect. He's huge and imposing, and makes an impression wherever I display him. I love him! -

I don't mind the blue eyes aesthetically speaking, but what bugs me is the inconsistency with the 2015 wave - the 2015 Toa that had yellow eyes now suddenly have blue eyes. Also, I realized that Uxar would pair very well with Umarak! If Umarak has the Uniter feature as well, that is.

I was thrown off by Pohatu a bit at first - like you said, he looks so young now - but I realized that he's actually closer to his Nuva mask! The patterns on his face are rounder. It's most evident in his eye holes, the throwback to his Nuva mask is quite noticeable. (I can't for the life of me recall the name of Pohatu's Kanohi)
