  1. I wasn't a fan of the planets series, but it seems like the most plausible sub-theme for a Starkiller Base set.
  2. I think it's the more circular shape of the eyeslits that give that impression. For me, rather than make him look feminine, Pohatu's eyeslits actually remind me of his Nuva mask, which is great.
  3. I don't have the space for him, but Pohatu is definitely my favourite of the $15 sets. I wish he had more dark brown, but I'm glad he doesn't have an overabundance of silver like Lewa and Gali. That tan torso works wonders. Thanks for the review!
  4. Thanks for those pics! Ugh, CCBS just doesn't work for organic characters... But the parts and the custom torsos are great!
  5. I completely forgot about the Vision! It seems we're missing him, Spidey, Zemo and Hawkeye from the line-up so far. Here's hoping the 4th exclusive set gives us at least a few of these characters.
  6. Those sets look incredible. I'm buying them all! Hopefully the new Quinjet has a decent interior, like the 2012 version and the Milano.
  7. Pohatu's mask is one of the most Nuva-esque, his circular eyeslits especially. Everything else, though... He needs more brown! He's my favourite of the smaller Toa (that is, if you count Kopaka as a $20 Toa), but I still don't like him enough to get him. It's nice to see more (dark) tan, though, and thank goodness he doesn't have a silver torso.
  8. Great review! Ikir is undoubtedly the best of the Creatures; the only possible gripe I have with him is the exposed shoulder joints. Everything else, though, is solid. In fact, one of my reasons for possibly getting Tahu is that Ikir looks so good with him. And it's a pity that Uxar doesn't have ball-jointed wings like Ikir, but I guess Uxar had to sacrifice that for two extra limbs.
  9. I don't mind the clashing of textures, but the gold seems more overpowering in in-hand photos than in the stock images. I thought the gold was okay before. Still, I agree that he's the weakest of the $20 sets. His united mode is the best of the bunch though; I think I'll hold off until there's a sale to get him. Thanks for the review! EDIT: I have to say, though, that I love the new Hau! Much more than the 2015 version. The new one evokes a very Nuva-sequel vibe. One of my favourite G2 masks.
  10. I like him! It's a shame that his function is so loose, but I can live with that. I'm not planning on getting Pohatu, so Ketar'll be a nice standalone set. I still for the life of me can't figure out why Lego recoloured the Vorox shell to tan just for this set, though. I wish Pohatu would use it.
  11. I won't be getting it, but that Spider-Man is incredible! Great to see some diversity in these sets.
  12. Nice bit of information, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to what MOCists do with the mask - maybe a telescopic function of sorts.
  13. Uxar looks great! It's a pity his wings aren't on balljoints like Ikir's are, though. That be the cause of its obstruction with Umarak's shoulders.
  14. Sans the gold on Kopaka's thighs, he looks perfect! My favourite of the 2016 sets. Thanks for the review! EDIT: Oops, VBBN, I think you forgot the poll.
  15. Thanks for that. I love Kopaka. Hands down my favourite Toa of 2016. (I might be biased, since I love Kopaka as a character... Heh.) His shoulder build is interesting and looks good, I love his new mask, and the Metru blue is always a plus. My only gripe with him is the gold crystal pieces on his thighs - I'll either remove them, or replace them with silver ones from Gali if I can get my hands on those pieces. It's a shame Melum is less substantial than the other creatures, but his distinct function from Terak is really cute. All in all, definitely my first 2016 buy.
  16. Thanks for the review! Gali has some nice recolours (4M shells in azure and trans dark blue, orange Vorox armour) but as a set she's not very good, in my opinion. Easy pass. She just doesn't look appealing at all. Which is a shame, because her 2015 set was one of my favourites of the wave, and I really like Akida.
  17. Why I keep bringing this up? This is the first time I've mentioned this! As others have replied, we tend to only get one Titan per wave. But we've already gotten small Ekimu - while we could see Lego break the trend by making 2016 Ekimu a Titan, I guess it's more likely he'd be a smaller Toa-sized figure.
  18. Thanks for that information! Looking forward to the rest of your reviews.
  19. Well... Nothing new, except for a trans-blue Mask of Creation! Also, is Ekimu confirmed to be a Titan?
  20. Looking at the new pictures, I'm really impressed with Jay's dragon! I do hope the legs attach to the body via ball joints and not click hinges, else we'd have the whole Master Wu Dragon fiasco all over again.
  21. That's incredible. It's a joy to watch the cockpit open and the cannons reveal themselves. Phenomenal job!
  22. I didn't know BS01 did reviews... Thanks for that review, Dorek! My opinion of Lewa is still unchanged. Unfortunately, I don't share the view with many others that he's one of the better sets of the wave - the silver is just too much for me. Unlike Tahu, whose gold I can forgive because it helps push his "on fire" look, Lewa's silver is just too overwhelming. I wish they'd kept his Keetorange or given him more trans-green parts. Or like Onua, give him a green torso.
  23. Thanks for the review! As if I needed any more incentive to buy this set. If it's possible, VBBN, could I request a picture of Umarak combined with Uxar, but with his shoulder armour on? How much is the unification hindered by the shoulder armour? Agreed. His mask is undoubtedly my favourite part of the set. My favourite G2 mask right up there with the Mask of Creation. The blended trans-green gives off a very sickly vibe; Umarak's mask has one of the best uses of the dual colour masks in G2. Another request - how does Umarak look with his shoulder joints moved up one module (by moving up the Hordika neck)? I'm pretty sure Lego placed his shoulders so low for a good reason; my guess is that his arm articulation is hindered by the shoulder armour. I understand you've plenty of reviews to go through, so it's fine if you're too busy/have to put off requests till when you're done with all of them! Really appreciate what you're doing here with the reviews. This. I was very unimpressed with his first look, but I've slowly grown to love him and he's now one of my most anticipated sets of the wave!
  24. Sweet! Looking forward to that. Umarak's shoulders look like they sit really low. With the way the Hordika necks are connected there, I wonder if he'd look good with the shoulders raised one module. There must've been a reason why Lego made his shoulders so low.
  25. Wait, what? That's awesome! Compared to the other Creatures, Akida seems pretty weak, function-wise. But I'm a sucker for aquatic stuff so I'll be getting it anyway. And the fact that it has a stand just makes it so much better. Props to Lego for including one; they could've easily left it out.
