I'm not sure about the survival of a certain character, I think it under cuts the loss of Kanan last week. However I will wait until next week's finale to address my concerns until levying to much criticism in this regard. ~ Other wise really fantastic two parter. I thought i'd hate time travel in Star Wars but the way it was employed here is fantastic. I read a theory that the series will end with a new Mortis trio, Kanan (the Father), Ahsoka (the Daughter), and Ezra (the Son).

[SoNE Episode XVII] [Rebels] [Week 13] No Loose Ends
Forresto replied to Forresto's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Probably I think our builds though work well together, and helps represent the chaos of war, especially for the Rebellion who right now are putting everything on the table at Endor. Star Wars is not particularly gory, and I hope it largely stays that way. However almost every weapon of war is very clean and tends to cauterize the wounds immediately. I wanted to present a situation where they would'nt be able to use their blasters, where they couldn't fight with clean weapons such as blasters which would signal any Imperials in the area for miles. Those Imperials were going to die, so why would an axe be necessarily worse then a blaster if the result, the action remans the same? At least that's the internal logic I wanted to apply to the psyche of the Bith character. The Bith are renown for their pacifism, so I feel this sort've extreme logic could easily find its way into the mental processes of a peaceful creature whose been at war for so long. I might've over thought this, but I often find these SoNE entries as warm ups/practice for my own writing. -
[Ep. XVII] [Empire] [Week 13] Bunker 0225
Forresto replied to Gubi0222's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
I have to echo the other comments, this is a great build! I love how you start off with this small focus that expands as their investigation leads to the crater in the much wider final shots! I can't say how much I love this! Excellent, excellent work! EDIT: I didn't notice that the black pieces are actually elevated despite appearing sunken in, great illusion! -

I am so happy our builds this week illustrated how radically different the rebels can be! I love how you juxtapose the muted and vibrant colors, which i've noticed is very much your style. I love the tree and hairpieces as underbrush! -

Phenomenal idea and part usage with the Death Star and Executor and especially the treeline! I love how bright the scene is altogether, it matches the brightness of the moon like we saw in the film! -
[Ep. XVII][Empire]Week 12] Skywalker

The rebels in the bushes are pretty funny, especially since i'm sure Luke sensed them. Makes me wonder what was going through Luke's mind? -
[Ep. XVII] [Rebels] [Week 12] The junkyard
Forresto replied to elementary's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
This build is absolutely gorgeous! The circular frame is a superb twist on the standard boxy diorama format and helps create a more organic look to the whole scene. The trees are simple but so inspired, a technique I will have to borrow at some point. A nitpick, and it doesn't diminish your build in any way, but the Sequel Trilogy era rebel helmet seems odd. -
[SoNE Episode XVII] [Rebels] [Week 11] Boots in the Mud

Thanks! The transition from all the various vignettes in the diorama was problematic for a bit, but i'm very happy with how it turned out, so thanks for noticing that Does Peter Pettigrew turn into a mouse droid in this universe? -
LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!

I love the way the Range Trooper looks based off of the Black Series Figure. I hope the eventual Lego version includes a fur shoulder pauldron, it looks awesome and ridiculous! -
Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka Episode XVII: No Loose Ends Following much needed R&R, the 444th Rathtar Raiders are back on the march, acting as skirmishers for the 218th Platoon which is comprised of fifty infantry, two AT-RTs, and some light armor. Our ewok allies have informed us that we're nearing the Imperial Shield Generator, before mysteriously departing. Far away explosions, reminders that despite the calm of this swathe of forest, the battle for the moon rages on. We have been traveling the edge of a lake for several hours now. The body of water is so massive the other side is a sliver on the horizon. My mind is set at unease as I consider the distant land, and wonder what unwanted eyes watch us. Surely they wouldn't be able to see us with our camouflaged uniforms, would they? On the third hour BR-8 and I take point. While scouting several kilks ahead of the platoon and a few meters ahead of our unit, we spot a lost Imperial patrol resting on the lake edge. The moment our unit reaches up, the Imperials will be alerted and report back to base. We must act fast... 4 ABY: Sanctuary Moon of Endor - Shore of a small Lake "Clean that wound private. We move out in ten." "What is that racket private?" "The officer's uniform is unsalvageable, however I believe the trooper armor can be used without suspicion." "Good, get them stowed away, we have a good ways yet before they'll come to use." I regret their violent ends but our mission mustn't fail. ~~~~~~~~ Behind the Scenes Episode List

Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi discussion. **SPOILERS**
Forresto replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've posted this before and i'll post it again. Financial success is objective. I love the movie Dune to death but it was a bomb, a financial failure, and my opinions of the movie cannot change that no matter how much I wish it. Disney is a corporation, one that can seem rather pleasant at times but nonetheless is a corporation. Their bottom line is money and trends, not the praise or whinging of a few voices on the internet. Money talks the loudest to them, unfortunately. You can't compare the Last Jedi to the Force Awakens financially. The Force Awakens is a unique phenomenon, a mixture of hope for improved quality over three prior films and a decade of anticipation amongst the largest fandom for any significant Star Wars project. It is also one of the highest grossing films of all time, even when adjusted for inflation. Only the Phantom Menace is comparable. The Prequels The Phantom Menace (1999): 1.025 Billion Attack of the Clones (2002): 649.4 Million Revenge of the Sith (2005): 848.8 Million New Era Films The Force Awakens (2015): 2.068 Billion Rogue One (2016): 1.056 Billion The Last Jedi (2017): 1.329 Billion ~~~~~~ Not even the Empire Strikes Back lived up to the gross of a New Hope. If you gauge failure by not living up to the success of one of the highest grossing films ever, something not even the Empire Strikes Back could muster, then nothing will "succeed" by that parameter. As for future movies. Han Solo is going to be difficult to gauge, because a huge portion of the fanbase was already claiming they wouldn't go prior to the Last Jedi releasing. The only way we'll know is by Episode IX and neither of us can predict that. We are also moving into uncharted water for Star Wars. We're going into the FOURTH movie releasing in sequence with the last three. Prior to this its only been the trilogies with long breaks between. We don't know what franchise fatigue looks like for Star Wars yet. ~~~~~~ Finally to address your point about the foreign box office. The Last Jedi made significantly more then Rogue One on the international market. It would have made more internationally if not for its commercial drop in china which the Force Awakens performed far stronger in. Point made though, the Force Awakens was the FIRST Star Wars movie shown in theaters in China. There isnt a cultural connection to the franchise there like other Chinese franchises. So of course the first entry into a new story performed better, it clearly didnt garner enough interest in a sequel however. Sources: -
Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi discussion. **SPOILERS**
Forresto replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Disney almost always releases home media three months after release. Typically the quicker release date for home media has a lot to do with piracy prevention. A popular movie, especially one from a franchise such as Star Wars, is going to be more pirated then a less successful movie so a quick release time on the market counteracts that. When the price is fair and the product is easily accessible the theory is people are more likely going to pay then steal. Now lets not mince words, the Last Jedi is by no means a failure. Regardless of what people think about the film itself, it broke a billion, surpassed Rogue One slightly and created an upward trend financially. The controversy itself will fuel piracy, as a filmmaker myself I find this an entirely disturbing and insulting attitude when access has never been cheaper. Once the Blu-rays are manufactured the leaks are going to come out so Disney needs to mitigate that as soon as possible by releasing as soon as possible. Its part of their profit machine. For other companies they might have extended periods of time for home release after theatrical runs for myriad reasons but with Disney its always three months. -
Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi discussion. **SPOILERS**

That's not typically how distribution works. -
@the last chronicler Excellent Analysis, i'm pretty much in total agreement with that. Also if you follow the stream of consciousness in the negative reaction to the Last Jedi, your right, it really is a fan claim that the Last Jedi is overly subversive for the sake of being subversive. Something I entirely disagree with. In other news has anyone seen this absolutely incredible fan video?

My only problem is a blind man and woman intoxicated on hallucinatory drugs managed to kill Death Troopers who had the high ground...like really? Why even include Death Troopers? Make them regular stormies.

Black Panther - As someone who cares little for Marvel but has seen all the films, this movie was absolutely refreshing! The African setting and POV on the world as presented is so unique compared to every other super hero movie. In fact I would say my only criticism is that Michael B Jordan's character needed more screen time, and I wish the film had delved deeper into the psyche's of its characters rather then give so much screen time to some of the action set pieces, that if not for the beautiful characters and costumes, feel a little generic. In fact one battle scene is almost taken from Game of Thrones.

WOAH! It had to happen, and i'm sad to see it because they were a fantastic character but wow, excellent story telling!

I'm loving all of the fleet pictures but all I can think of is... Has anyone estimated how large a Star Destroyer would have to be next to this scale of ships? I bet pretty massive when you look at the CR-90.

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka Episode XVII: Boots in the Mud I've seen combat on twenty seven worlds since the Battle of Hoth, fifteen since reassignment to the Rathtar Raiders, 444th Pathfinder Specialist Unit. When our unit was devastated, fatalities including our Major and Commander, on Devaron by an alien bounty hunter two months ago, I was next in line for command. I've led my people through four hell holes since. I've killed Imperials, pirates, and in between the two, i'm certain several civilians. The military was in rough shape. Our major offensive into the Mid Rim had ultimately failed. Our ships were barely holding together with the Imperials containing most major shipyards. We never directly engaged anymore, not with the high casualties Kuat, Javin, Fondor, and Devaron produced. Fatigue was setting through most of the ranks, until we heard word the whole of the Alliance would be massing at Sullust, an odd event given the constant paranoia of exposure and destruction amongst the high command. Such an occurrence could mean only one thing. We were to commit to one final decisive offensive. General Solo, a nepotistic promotion from captain to be sure, would be leading a Pathfinder unit to the sanctuary moon of Endor. The Rathtar Raiders volunteered for the assignment, but were overlooked for that idiot Major Bren Derlin's unit. We however would land moon side shortly after General Solo's team, to support the 218th, Mynock Platoon, my former unit still led by Major Hesases. 4 ABY: Sanctuary Moon of Endor - Shore of a small Lake "WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE DON'T HAVE A COMM SIGNAL? GET UP THAT HILL AND FIND A LINK TO THE FLEET!" "I don't like this Major. We should keep moving!" "For once relax Sh'ral, we have twenty minutes to rest before we have to catch up with the Mynocks." "Hey Undula, how's your leg?" "Fine. Thanks for saving my hide back at Devaron." "Thanks? You saved mine, no thanks necessary. If you hadn't hit the bounty hunters blaster i'd be a foot shorter now." "Hey Sh'ral? If we make it off this moon...Would you want to go, grab a drink?" "I...I...we..." "Just say yes you Qhubast!" "Yes! I'd love a drink." "Trying to fish again Sergeant? You know you ain't catch anything ever! I don't understand why you keep trying! What's so great about fishing anyways?" "Patience pink eyes, patience is the name of the game. You set your bait and wait till the prey takes a bite, then when the moments right you snap the line. The fish didn't know what happened" "Like so." "Sh'ral says the Imperials are baiting us, and we're falling for their trap. You think he's right." "Maybe so...but when haven't they? if they are then we'll just have to break the trap, won't we?" "Sir! Sir!" "Our Ewok allies have returned." "Kia kizitch wa yub nub!" "She tells of a nearby Imperial facility, which I infer is the shield generator. She knows the way." "Sh'ral, talk with Thistle here and determine our route." "Yessir!" ~~~~~~~~~ Imperial Battle Station - Death Star II - In Orbit of Endor's Sanctuary Moon "Commander Orellos I must pro-" "I assure you Colonel Jaedon, my operations will not interrupt anything ISB has planned." "Sir!" "I have a report of rebel troops on Endor." "What does this concern me? Alert army command." "Amongst the rebels is a specialist unit commanded by a Bith." "He's here! Prepare me a shuttle to the surface!" "The rebels march into our trap and their doom, and the Bith will die along side them. This destructive conflict is close to the end Leftenant Wells, and finally the Empire shall know peace!" ~~~~~~~~ Behind the Scenes Episode List

Wow! I need to go through and read the story but I flicked through the photos and the level of quality is outstanding! Highly engaging! Excellent work! -
The only thing I could forsee happening with the Stormtroopers is either improved leg printing that extends further down the leg or hip printing. My hope is that any hip printing works retroactively with the current generation of stormtroopers.

Dune This is without a doubt one of my favorite Sci-Fi films of all time, based on one of my favorite Sci-Fi books of all time. Having now watched the mini-series of Dune and the live action cutscenes in the old games I have new found respect for the next level quality of David Lynch's version. Also it docent help that the story is somewhat incoherent in places due to the studio demanding Lynch remove an hour of footage from his original three hour plus cut.
