  1. I'm a big horror film fan. Recently though, i've fallen into a rut where film after film failed to elicit any ounce of dread or anxiety out of me. I was feeling that maybe I was numb, that I had over exposed myself to Horror and I could no longer be scared. Then I saw two extremely well made horror films... The Ritual - Four friends get lost in the woods of Northern Sweden and there might be something else there with them. The cinematography and locations are beautiful, the horror is well thought out, and the pace is excellent. Most importantly I actually cared about the characters. Train to Busan - A father and daughter are on a train from northern South Korea down across the country to Busan when a viral outbreak ravages the country and induces a zombie epidemic. One of the single best zombie films ever made up there with 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead, and the remake of Dawn of the Living Dead. This movie is refreshing in a genre over inundated by lifeless flicks. The action and horror are excellent, the filmmaking is superb, and just like the Ritual I deeply cared about our core group of protagonists. This deep emotional core kept me on the edge of my seat, literally, hoping that the protagonists would survive the next action set piece. I ultimately left the film feeling worn and moved deeply. I can't promise everyone might have this same experience but for me at least this last one really hit a deep place in my soul that i'm still reflecting on. If you're a fan of Blomkamp you should check out the channel Oats Studios. He's directed several proof of concept films that will never be made but he really loved the ideas of. He crowd funds them and for what budget he has they're really quite astonishing. Here's just one he's done.
  2. AT-TE from the Prequels or the Resurgent Class from the Sequels are the only two non-OT UCS sets I could see being successful. Both are fantastic designs and are bulky enough to withstand the weight of the larger build.
  3. Wow thats very good! I love the eye slit and rear plate's greebling especially. The proportions look great. This is excreptionally done, good work!! Also I have some choice words for you about that tease but its better left unsaid On that note was that entirely a joke or is there actually a rumor of a UCS AT-AT this year?
  4. Definitely grey. It also looks like a different kind of tunic, a more standard cut with a center seam instead of the WW1 german pilot styling we're used to with imp officers. Personally I think the longer arms throw the proportions off.
  5. A for the effort but that's absolutely horrifying. K2 has long arms but not that long.
  6. It's a tad big for true minifigure scale. The dome caps of the engines are as wide as a person standing. It should be quite a wee bit smaller. But It looks really good and if you're ready to make conceits to sizing, which we all do with system scale, it's not that big a deal. It may only look out of place next to system scale sets.
  7. Beaten by moments. Yep the Navy Trooper comes in both black tunic and jump suit although we're never given a real reason why. Presumably the ones in jumpsuits are technicians?
  8. Awesome mod! It might be a little too hunch backed but I don't know if Lego works well with slighter angles. I could be wrong, it just seems too fat.
  9. I would wait to hear from @Raskolnikov before you get rid of anything but if you have the latest one for sure keep that. When I was buying from scratch it seemed some of the pricier parts came from the prior AT-AT released.
  10. Ahh okay. I might buy the instructions but I'm gping to wait to build when the list of stores with the percentage of pieces is up. It makes these builds so much easier
  11. Raskolnikov essentially took the last version of the AT-AT to come out and significantly expanded upon it. I believe all the pieces from that set are used in this MOC. Now he also added a lot of his own brilliant techniques to the mix then just the original build because it's suped up.
  12. I love how you integrated the Snot elements into the overall build. The leaning bits of structure are also very lovely. If I had a nitpick, Imperial light patterns tend to have five lines, but hey, i'm sure there's a variety of configurations for various parts of a ship or station, maybe this is in the lower decks. If you have time to build regularly or even occasionally you should totally join the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka game.
  13. That might be a must buy if it looks good.
  14. Maybe the UCS will include an extension of the great hall that includes Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw and raises the tower at the top? Sort've like how playmobil has add-ons for their castles that add tower and wall segments you basically plug in.
  15. I've built your tie fighter and now that you've made the Tie Bomber I will have to jump on building this as Lego will never do better. Now I have to see if it's on rebrickable! Great showing! So happy right now!
  16. Well there's been two games the last three months so hopefully?
  17. I agree the voting patterns were'nt utilized as much as they could've been but I do disagree on one point. If you're going to lynch Day One it should be for the least active person. I address this in my Day One points but in short it shaves off excess players who we'll suspect of being scummy later when we will need to actually analyze for actual scum, they aren't participatory so not providing us patterns to analyze, and there's no actual evidence to go on in Day One so its the most honest method of voting because its a crapshoot with anyone. Otherwise don't lynch day one. That's my belief. It may seem binary but its no more scummy then lynching anyone the first day. If I can think of why in particular i'll let you know. It was really mostly a hunch. I write screenplays and prose with a focus on dialogue irl so I have trained myself to focus on code switches. That doesn't mean i'm better at detecting scum more then others because this involved something I noticed while playing the last game. I try not to play meta. EDIT: The first clue was your pushing for a lynch day one. In Trial by Jury you didnt seem able to be swayed to lynch anyone Day One so your flip to push for a vote this game seemed peculiar. It made sense because that's the same reasoning I had, but I pushed for a Day One lynch the last game.
  18. Excellent game everyone! I hope to see everyone in the next when that eventually occurs! Haha I knew you were mafia this game! I was the cop. I chose to investigate you the first night and if Actorbuilder hadn't killed me I would've known so I could reveal it to the town! Actually I was investigating you hoping you were town so we could form a coalition. After I died I reread Trial by Jury and then this and I got a feeling you were playing differently. Knowing you were town last time made me suspect the change meant you were mafia. The deadboard is my proof lol
  19. Those Praetorians and the Fathier are most likely what the figures will look like. They are made in a very logical Lego manner. If they were merely made for the animation you would think they would've had the different kinds of Praetorians. Not thrilled that their legs are the new dress piece though. I would've preferred Red legs with printing and cloth skirts. Although those skirts would work for the Emperor's Royal Guards as well.
  20. I'd buy a Lego Porg for a 100 bucks...
  21. Its more a matter of representation. The European military uniform, while sometimes radically different in detail, was relatively homogenized by the standards of that day. No army is dressed in 18th century fashion, no one to misrepresent really. They came, they're gone. I'm a history buff so I care but most don't. Its a matter of repeating the same ignorant homogenization/generalization of tribal cultures that led to this being thought okay. When instead you could have sets based in reality that's really awesome and respects tribal people. Like the Aztec Warrior we got from the Minifigures Lineup! Eh, it has some historical precedent. More like a neutral third party. I don't think we need to step on eggshells at all.
  22. Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka Episode XVII: To the Hills, Where Death Follows With the switch for the Imperial Installation's Shields nowhere to be found, both Major Hecaces and myself, have agreed to call fleet support from orbit of the moon. No one in the unit quite knows the status of the battle in space but we've all seen the streaks of fire plummeting to the surface, corvettes, fighters, cruisers careening across the horizon in death throws. Hopefully our home this past year, the Nebulon B Frigate, Soldarii, is still in one piece. We've marched along the mountain ridge north of the Installation for the several hours towards the highest crest. Once there, with a detachment of the 9th Sappers and a few of my Pathfinders, we've ascended the mountain top for the greatest reception. We should never have entered the hills, for only death is there, and it follows us everywhere. 4 ABY: Sanctuary Moon of Endor - Northern Mountain Ridge "How you 'spect fleet's holding?" "There's a lot of ships up there. Even with the steady rate of casualties I think its too early to know." "Comm Booster set up sir, it appears we're getting adequate service." "Patch me into a secure Alliance frequency and get me Commander Kobu on the Soldarii" "Commander! Commander!" "Yes Lieutenant?" "We've received a transmission from Major Forresto down on the surface!" "Patch me through, now!" "Forresto? Are you there?" "I'm here Commander. The regiment is making good progress with minimal enemy contacts so far." "It is imperative, whatever the cost might be, that you get that shield generator deactivated with all due haste! If this second Death Star is brought online we'll be annihilated up here, do you understand?" "Heard loud and clear sir." "Oh and sir I- What is that noise?" "Get to cover!" "Oh!" "AT-ST!" "RUN!" "AHHHHHH!" "AHHHHHH!" "AHHHHHH!" "Forresto? Forresto! Are you there? Forresto!" ~~~~~~~ Behind the Scenes: Episode List:
