Haha mc, I like how this one has tendencies to match my pottery, after all these guys too are Mitgardians! Anyway, it really seems like Ruadh unintetionally has grown into a cross guild community build. We actually havn't had yet that in GoH!
-
Good to see you too back in the ring! And a really nice statue of course!
-
This is a really cool throne room. And what amazes me the most is how you transformed the Mitgardian seal into bricks! I actually thought that all of us Mitgardians should refer to the bear symbolism more often!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
kabel replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Amazing work guys! @Kevkipo : those Sketches are really great! -
@mk: I started putting the story together before ra was done telling his last chapter ... so anyway, let's assume there are still pockets of drow resistance below Avalonia close to the capital and the dwarves just don't understand how the Elves are dealing with them, and we all know of course how dwarves and Elves feel about each other ...

We actually never upload pics here but deeplink them. So basically you upload your pics to for example flickr and then post the adress of that pic here!

well, thanks a lot guys! @Sir Gareth: I forgot to answer, the roof is on the bed because the potters sometimes sleep there when it's too hot! @Rolli+Gideon: I'm definetely looking forward to Challenge four and I'm glad I don't have to build any introductory build for that. Doing this for Mitgardia sure took a lot of time and a bunch of bricks! @Garmadon: putting in all those details is always a lot of fun and it's great when people actually find all the details!

@kevkipo: fleshies are fine, several members use them. It's just that I'm a yellow supremacist, that's all -

Looking pretty good (except for the fleshy head of course ) and nice background too! -
Wow, thanks for all those comments. I can't remember a moc of mine reaching 24 comments within the first 24 hours. So this is really great. Anyway, I'll definetely stay in Mitgardia as this represents all the tan I actually have. The backside of this build is already filled with all sorts of funky colors. It's just cool to build outside ones guild every now and then!
-
Thanks a lot for all these postive comments guys, glad you all like it! @Slegengr: I had originally put the bucket there to contain water, no clue how the tan plate got in there instead ... @Gideo+Vlad: covering the stairs with tiles was the original plan. I ran out of them though. So instead of doing only half of the surface I kept it like that. @dG: Settlers II? - very close! This was actually inspired by Age of Empires II! As for the photograpyh: It was a really dark day outside today so I guess my camera opened the lense quite a bit to get these pics. I like it too. I just wonder though how I got that blueish background as I used a white sheet of paper.

Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
kabel replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
Except for my embassy I've never really build much in Kaliphlin, but I thought you guys would deserve an hommage: -
I haven't really done anything in Kaliphlin for quite a while, so this marks my first try in over 2,5 years. It's nothing fancy, I just wanted to create a nice athmosphere that I thought would befit the spirit of Ruadh. So thanks Sarah for letting me build there! Fleeing from the upcoming civil war and the cold winters in Mitgardia Tom Potter and his wife Emma have set up a new pottery in Taos Ruad where they enjoy working outside protected by the shade of an old orange tree. Life here was really benign and they immediatly felt welcomed by all the other artists of the community. All they now needed in order to complete their happiness was a painter who could give their creations a paintjob that would fit Kaliphlin better. Sometimes at night though, they were really missing the snow and the mountains of their original home. Hopefully things wouldn't turn out as bloody as everybody thought it would ... C&C welcome ...

Sure, you just go ahead. And, welcome back! -
Awesome house MK, glad we didn't lose you completely to the SW community ...

there are two things I don't really like about your solution ME, which actually looks good. 1. The rock section on the bottom doens't have wooden support on the outside. Or you do the entire lower section in half timber, just like the upper section. 2. When doing snot timbered sections it always looks like there is a board on the outside. Normally the timber is flush with the rest of the wall though. Examples from my hometown: sometimes the crosswise sections are entirely filled with wood like in the first pic. So far I've come up with this solution:

Nice little build. One other thing you should consider before you take photos is to fill up behind the gaps behind the layers of rocks, it looks kinda weird this way.

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
kabel replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Traitor! You just wait for our dwarven army to crush all the filth that's coming out of Nocturnus! -
Wow, this is quite a moc you put together there and a shame you didn't do it in the context of GoH. I really like all the roofs I'm seeing here, especially the black one, although one can't really tell how it was put together since black is a pain in the megablock to be photographed. As for the woodwork, I'd have to agree with ME. I usually don't space the timbers more than four studs apart, but I suppose it's a lot easier to be familiar with the dimensions when you have grown up in a medieval German city as I have. So if you want some more good examples of what half timbered (I really hate the term tudor as that limits half timbered houses to England only) houses can look like, I can post some pictures of the city that I've grown up in.
