C'mon guys, scoring really is a pain in the butt! And with no objective guidlines as to what scoring is based on some people will always end up frustrated. The thing is, 40+ mocs each week is just an insane amount of mocs to grade. In GoH it's sometimes really overpowering to grade that many mocs entered over a time of 2-3 months! Do I build for the score? Well, its nice to know where you're at when comparing to others but seriously, it usually takes me several weeks and several trips to the Lego store to come up with something really great. So how much is there to expect when you only have a week and do not use LDD? So everybody all ease up a little!

Fun shot there! I really like how they are all smiling. I'm not sure though if H3 should be sitting next to Dr.Long with that bottle in his hand ... @goatman: nah man, yellow it is!

[O - F03] "There are some positive aspects of being sick"
kabel replied to WickNole's topic in AG1 Archive
Wick, you might wanna redo your location. It the headline it says F03 but your tag says H04! Other than that, cool stuff as always! -
Location: F02 - Lesser Drigo Tags: Land Vehicle, Engineering, Civil, Octan And there Henry stood again. The transport vehicle had just left and he was alone with a pile of gear on some strange alien planet! Originally he had planned to take a break and spend two weeks surfing on New California. The waves were said to be superior there! And his request had even been granted by Dr.Long. Surprisingly, he was here now with his vacation being canceled the last possible minute. Henry wasn't quite sure what had gotten him here, but he had the suspicion that it had something to do with this "little incident" last night: Before leaving the O.S.C. AXLE, H3 had ventured to the ship's bar to have a few beers with some of his engineering buddies. But on the way back to his sleeping compartment, the AXLE had had a little problem with it's gravitational system (at least that's what he remembered) and 0-g was something he couldn't handle at all, had never been able to handle to begin with! And so things had ended up like they usually end up in situations like this ... Well, he had made sure nobody found out about this "little incident" and mopped the ship as quick as possible, leaving it cleaner than before. So what could have happened? Why was he here now, on a planet whose name he had never heard before and with a task that seemed virtually impossible: building a water pumping station on a desert and lava planet? Henry looked around, okay there was water, at least he could see some steam rising from below the sand where the water most likely got into contact with the lava. But his pile of equipment was just that, a pile of equipment he would have to sort through, a task that would take him hours, if not days. And, there were those really nasty space scopions he had heard of before, hopefully they wouldn't be able to cross the lava creek that seperated him from these beasts. "Ah, shitty situation, better call hq to make sure someone with a big gun gets down here" H3 mumbled "damn, where was the radio? On no, WHY ALWAYS ME ... ?" What H3 failed to understand was that his "little incidident" had of course not gone unoticed. There was nothing happening aboard the AXLE that did not get noticed somehow, somewhere by SOMEONE. NOTHING!

wow cool, thanks a lot dude, I really appreciate this! Well yeah, they are actually not that bad and if you sourround them with tons of other vegetation they usually end up looking like small, northern or high alpine coniferious trees!

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Mantis or Nocturnus, where is the difference? -
Wow, what a great playmo ship there! Time to rebuild it in Lego! Seriously, the big advantage of playmo is simply that it's always there instead of going away for another 5 years. They also have smaller ships which is something Lego hasn't done in decades, unfortunately because overall Lego is of course the superior toy!

hm, sounds like what I did at the place where the waterfall hits the sea, guess I'll have to work around that idea in my next build. Thanks a lot! (How do you actually say pal, or dude or mate to a girl?)

Well thanks for all the praise guys! This build had actually stood there and collected dust for over 3 months now and I'm happy I finally got it done! There is one thing though I'm not so happy about. Actually the waterfall is not meant to be frozen. Running water is always transparent and starts to form white foam when moving. And that's why I used clear transparent and not blue transparent plates to show this effect. Maybe I should take another shot from right above to make this a little clearer. Or what would you guys suggest?

I'm wondering what the Kawashita code says about about traitors. Octan would have a clear rule stating what to do in cases such as this ... However, seems like Mantis is the right place for someone betraying his beloved company

Not far from Thorshaven in Harald's Fjord, shortly after the beacons had been lid: Ulf, a veteran of the war against the elementals, had enough of it. Hadn't he lost everything in the last war already? Hadn't he given everything he could to take his family to this safe haven in order to start again? Ulf was tired of fighting, tired of moving, tired of giving up everything he loved so dearly. And so, he had drenched his house in tar and was now ready to put everything to the torch - no, these beast were not going to take his home from him! He'd much rather see all of it burn down infront of them than see them turning everything to ice. Sure, he didn't mind the Algus turning the ashes to ice, and if need be, his ashes as well. He didn't care anymore! Ulf's friend Harald, however, wanted his friend to live, wanted to rebuild everything next spring, if there ever was going to be another one. So he waited for Ulf to finally get moving and so he too saw the Algus approach freezing everything as they moved along: As soon as the Algus touched anything, it instantly froze and whereever they walked everything turned white and cold. Harald was so stunned to see these creatures that he forgot to push off the boat and take care of himself and so got to witness something amazing: As soon as Ulf's house erupted in a ball of flames the Algus stopped moving as if they were shocked. Ulf, actually expecting to freeze up every second, also noticed that with the torch in his hand noting happened to him. One Algus tried to freeze him from below his feed, but nothing happened! Ulf was surprised and slowly noticed that the Algus were avoiding his torches. Suddenly, he heard their leader scream an aweful cascade of sounds of an unintelligible language! Ulf and Harald didn't trust their senses. Was this it? Was this the answer to the question many wise Mitgardians couldn't answer? Was fire the way fight the Algus? Well, at least it kept them at bay for as long as the fire was burning and only the gods knew what would happen after this! Additional shots:

Magnificent little build and probably the most you can hammer together in such short time! Loving it, especially the ship's name! Seems like there are few more Octan employees with a German heritage besides H3 ..

The Algus Saga is an OT project by some members of Mitgardia. It has nothing to do with any of the overall GoH story, it's just to not forget that there is something happening at home too while most attention if focusing on Kaliphlin these days. And basically it is all about quality mocing!!! -

@kevkipo: it's actually about more than building beacons. As I've said, it takes a little reading to really get into what's happening!
