  1. I think lego just needs to all-out buy the "street sharks" franchise from 15 years ago.
  2. he's probably talking about the print too. we have the henchman print.
  3. well, I agree that it doesn't make any sense that I'm the only one this updated for, but I'm not trying to pull anybody's leg. is there anybody else with the Mac-US combo?
  4. I'm sorry I took so long to send you the screenshots didn't know the board was waiting I really wouldn't call it a brick update even though it has a brick version number... it is really just more of a bug fix I believe. I could see the loading bar stall for a fraction of a second, if I'd blinked I would have missed it - so being curious I started looking around, couldn't find any new bricks... so I gave up, then I just went about my usual fiddling around, put together a minifig, went to decorate the torso, and the jacket was fixed. so I checked the other decal parts that were faulty, and sure enough they were patched up. is there anyway for me to upload the program so y'all can see? Edit: Could it be a Mac only update? I should have thought of that. Is anybody else using the mac version?
  5. How about online collaboration? they talk a lot about "people across the world building together on the same model" for lego universe, I'd love Love LOVE to see such a feature in LDD. I think this is a big one. It would be immeasurably useful.
  6. yeah it's just techniques I've used with real bricks that I wanted to use building this and that. and as i'd try to use the connections I'd find they didn't work... so yeah I guess you'd say I collected them over time and as for the last two things I just categorized bricks with similar geometry after finding a single instance that didn't work (plume in telescope, subbing for the new flame, didn't work, so I tested out similar things to see if any worked) sorry to repeat known errors . I started collecting these up a while back and I hadn't checked the topic in a bit. edit: actually I scanned the topic before posting, I guess I just brought these up because I didn't see them mentioned. though it makes sense that many of them would be known ah yes, I still have the file. it's not very well organized, but I should be able to get it to you. should I just upload it to brickshelf and link you? this is it, if you wanna download it
  7. haha I always wondered. so the "sin" was getting rid of your original LEGO collection?

  8. Quoting myself on some suggestions I made earlier in the topic: I think they're reasonable improvements to ask for and I thought it might be ok to re-mention them, with LDD 4 showing up soon. edit: sorry for the two in a row post. I thought it would combine with my last one
  9. some I dont think we've mentioned yet: collectible minifigure parts, series 1 & 2 batman/indiana jones guns (bb192, x1608 or 62885, and bb374 for good measure ) 31501: apparently in the 'hogwarts' game - just because I've never seen it before and it took a long time to show up, I mean we needed one of these, right? and 2850, 2851, 2852, 2853, 2854, 32333
  10. I'd really like a preferences option to keep the internet sidebar from popping up every time I open the program
  11. here's a few: these will not sit flush, either slight gap or slight intersecting. also they do not nest inside the socket, nor accept studs these do not nest this hair does not fit to the shoulders these parts do not fit together these parts are too shallow these parts are modeled poorly, the hat does not take a feather this part does not clip to studs minifig to system part combinations, legal examples here: are not possible this part is modeled wrong. should be taller, allow for sliding parts up and down along it stacking bodywear is not possible, neither of these classic combos work: these headgear and beard combos don't play nice, though the heads fit fine with only the beard or only the headgear (still connect together but with gap- except for dumbledore hair. helmets work fine with the other dwarf beard) the ghost shroud will not connect to minifigure parts at all, and this combo, used in the 'ogel' figure, is not possible (the ufo and insectoid helmets fit fine) plumes feathers and other parts with the tiny pins do not fit into telescopes, other pieces with room for tiny pins or tiny pin receptacles (not shown: cherries, back of binoculars? they do work with most headgear, even the turban and exploriens helmet w. hoses). also, they cannot be held by clips at bar widths. here's a longshot: the parts on the left all have stud width geometry that is not accessible by most parts, but only by 'open antistuds' like hooks, spanners, technic figure hands. the binoculars illustrate the connection as it should be possible. some of these parts allow the parts to sit on top of the studs, but they should be able to be slid down further, not unlike a bar and clip connection:
  12. Aaaaah! I didn't see that. that's excellent. still stickin' by my choices though. quality.
  13. amazing choices. I personally went with: 83 49668 Plate Modified 1 x 1 with Tooth Medium Stone Grey (194) 86 3794 Plate Modified 1 x 2 with 1 Stud (Jumper) Earth Green (141) 183 63864 Tile 1 x 3 Earth Blue (140) 229 3933 Wedge Plate 8 x 4 Wing Left Transparent Yellow (44) 230 3934 Wedge Plate 8 x 4 Wing Right Transparent Yellow (44) 27 x206c01 Bear (Polar bear) Black (26) 77 88283 Hair Mid-Length Tousled with Center Part Brick Yellow (5) 124 bb406 Minifig, Headgear Helmet Army Dark Stone Grey (199) 150 2423 Plant Leaves 4 x 3 Bright Orange (106) 151 2423 Plant Leaves 4 x 3 Bright Red (21) the fall leaves and black bear are just super ridiculously inspired. kudos to whoever suggested them.
  14. hey that's no ordinary brickfilm. I'm intrigued, you got something good here.
  15. oh excellent, thanks for the heads up. So I had another question about the figs themselves, seems like it would have been mentioned already, but i was wondering, is everything good hard plastic? like the sombrero, for instance, I'd be worried about that being a big rubbery part.
  16. Amen! Like a couple of the figures from the first wave, (cheerleader, zombie) this is a figure I thought "what's the big deal" about until I got a good all around look at it. now, oh geez, I need all i can get Mariachi still takes precedence though and the weightlifter.
  17. Aaaaaaaaaah! It's BEAUTIFUL! I used to work at a little neighborhood hardware store. oh i am filled with nostagia. I'd like to see an electrical section and a little bit o' lumber. maybe a key machine. ooh ooh, buckets of paint and a mixer. yaaaa I love it. edit: bags of concrete. wheelbarrows. shop vacs. air conditioner filters. saws.
  18. Definitely. official version, no contest. You still get a head that's compatible with other headgear, the headtails being part of a headgear still looks continuous. the lips on the arealight figure are out of control, and the headtails seem severely misshapen. this makes me chuckle
  19. hehe, zany. I like the architecture too
  20. I'm sure I have all the parts.. the only real hassle is having to borrow a camera from my relatives Buying a camera would mean less lego cash
  21. hahaha, thanks. and yes indeed. My design is definitely based more on the concept of a taco truck than any real-life taco truck that it could remotely resemble. I've never seen a real taco truck quite so festive thanks! yeah again, for the top taco: it looks better in real bricks, more compacted, looks neater, more.. continuous I guess. glad you like it and glad you noticed the shells! the headlight bricks make for the perfect fit as they're two plates deep, make the perfect 5 plates = 2X length match
  22. Hey folks, so I'm usually a sci-fi builder but I've been getting more and more into town. Especially for moc'ing things that haven't got an official LEGO city interpretation. This little project took shape about when I saw the new star wars landspeeder set. I'd wanted to build this for a while but that really gave it the perfect parts in the perfect color. I had just the side panel and taco done in real bricks. they sat around as a WIP collecting dust until last night, when I finished up the design in LDD SO without further blabbering: The king of the street vendors, The taco truck! Li'l Ernesto's Mexico on the Go ¡Home of the $100 taco! The giant fiberglass taco is geared to the knob on the side for flashy spinny-ness. I constructed it one stud wider than real life, due to difficulties in meshing the parts. fidgeting with the rotations is more difficult when you're moving one part at a time in ldd. Panel flipped up and ready for customers! Li'l Ernesto works in the kitchen, behind a subway-esque taco assembly station with shells, ground beef, and lettuce (stove, coke machine and paper cups in corner): Hark! Is this happy customer getting that loaded "$100 taco"? oh i think he is. edit: oops. topic name got the apostrophe in the wrong place
  23. Oh I dunno dude. I think it's gorgeous. I'm excited. I haven't picked up any of the landmark sets yet (taj mahal, eiffel, lady liberty) but I'm definitely looking to get this one. and on that note, definitely better than the eiffel tower model in my opinion.
  24. Is there any sort of advanced search where I can find a single seller who sells a particular combination of parts (any color)? It seems like I helped a friend do this once but now I'm getting lost, I've placed about 4 orders today and there are 5 parts (two lots) missing out of an assembly. I'd really like to wrap up my spree with a single seller so I have less to worry about, less shipping.
