Monster Fighters 2012
SpiderSpaceman replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you - I knew "unrelated fan art" made no sense. The swamp monster, while filling the role, looks nothing like any established generic swamp monster trope I know of. It would make no sense for virtually the same design to show up in two places by "monkeys typing shakespeare" or "great minds think alike". -
LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
SpiderSpaceman replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Nothing new, but I'd love it if they fixed the decals on transparent parts - so that they're on top of the transparency instead of inside it.. -
I've been wondering for a while if an instant rise in system compatibility could be achieved with a couple of parts analogous to and with the ball snap (below) replacing the pin. (photo by Siegfried)

Minifigures Series 8 Guessing Game
SpiderSpaceman replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah why are you gullibleheads being as such? -
Oh well. at least I can get the full tribes of reds and blues, and the other head molds from the boosters.

Do we have minifigure inclusion data for the playsets yet? I know the preliminary pictures had stand ins, at least in the Samurai Mech. And I was hoping for the Generals to not be confined to the sets in which they appeared in the aforementioned pictures.

Monster Fighters 2012

I already commented this on the flickr picture so now I'm just being cheap : I hope accordion leg guy's surname is "Bellows". But I'd settle for "Accordion Leg Guy" -
REVIEW: 9446 Destiny’s Bounty
SpiderSpaceman replied to Siegfried's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
One solution would be manufacturing a matching 4x1. We do after all have 2 and 4 length in the 'loggy bricks'. and I am so calling them that henceforth. unless of course that's horribly offensive slang somewhere and I don't know it. and while on the topic of slang, I dub the flipside the Kit Kat brick. -

I am not because he's a generic archer in generic combat gear. Gimme good ol purple Hawkeye and then I'll get excited. -

The Werewolf is gonna fit right in with my Forest Police Station! -
Glad to see how many models they've got, but I'm still waiting on some they don't - skeleton fortress and a bunch of the cars. and I wish Lego would release HD pictures of the items rather than the crappy thumbnails that are all they've ever had. Somebody should ask for more content release in the ambassador forum. And someone should suggest to the third party accessory makers cashing in on the closure with some commemorative LU inspired items. Can you link me to the textures - or guide me to them? can't seem to find them. I'll be disappointed now if I don't see a crazy ninjago twist on (living human) pirates
-
I really wish they'd give out all the clothing textures from LU. The designs in that game were killer.

You do understand that the feeling method is only good for actual existing minifigures in the respective series, right? -
LDD 4.2.5 is out
SpiderSpaceman replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
99780 - DEW WANT! Are those available in anything yet? I'm loving the LDD mode, with the available parts for each color, though I'm skeptical on some of them. I did have fun quizzing myself on what oddball parts colors are available in what sets. none of the pterodactyl's connection points seem to work... -

SpiderSpaceman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's not just a Batman license, remember? we need room for sinestro and shark and black manta and lobo and bizarro and so on and so on. I want all the batman characters like crazy but don't forget everybody else (or encourage Lego to keep doing it ) -
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
SpiderSpaceman replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
That's what I did. then I went backwards for 1-4 (minus a special or two probably), and then popped out some classics, all I've seen so far being: Genesis of the Daleks, The Face of Evil, and The Ark in Space and a clip of the doctor explaining "bigger on the inside" to leela (wait, no I remembered - that is from The Face of Evil. I just liked it so i rewatched the clip on youtube) and then all of torchwood. And now I'm watching sherlock and it feels much healthier, lemme tell ya I'm fond of Doctor Who and flat out love bits and pieces, certain episodes and arcs and the characters but it's actually too intense for me to be a full time super loyal fan. I'll probably stop and fully catch up on some lumpy basis in times when I'm too weak n' bored to resist but even with torchwood being where the really intense choosing between two evils happens, holy crud "the girl who waited"! and the rollercoaster ride of existence and nonexistence for rory: All some crazy intense heart tuggery. and besides that, plot twisting all over the place with every status quo restoration, deus ex machina, timey wimey excuse and gotcha ever devised and then some. I can go for about half of em but others just freak me out. -
LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
SpiderSpaceman replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nope but seriously, just check out the first pages of the topic. or no nevermind i'm an idiot, I guess the shape has been revised past the ol' prototype - and it's the right size! (Oh I hope they don't disappoint) -
Just like with the system marvel sets, they're listed on the USA Barnes and Noble website, preorder, available May 1st, 10% off. and I would expect they'll try to get it out worldwide around the same time since it is linked to the film release.

there's actually some really cool snake-itecture in the background art for the set boxes/intstructions

Don't forget Christopher Lee (Dooku, Saruman) - bound to show up in LOTR And we coulda had John Rhys Davies (Gimli, Sallah, {treebeard}) as well, if they'd done a freakin Sallah instead of just leaving him in the Indy game. -
The Future of Ninjago

Along the lines of the best thing I've ever heard of: the original quote did not say megablocks Oh, Eurobricks. -
because it's got balls. In seriousness I'm this one. no witty reason. maybe because it's a badass who don't get due respect but does his thing and doesn't let the haters or the Man get him down - Noooo. I give up. no witty reason. I love that piece so.
