Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
provoaggie replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
D2C sets don't seem to leak as much. Sets that are going to other retail stores end up in catalogs and have lots of ways to leak. -
I liked the set better when it included Mandalay Bay so I added it back in and changed the order. I think it improved it quite a bit.

It was a press/media event. I'm guessing that the USB Drives have Press and Media material about this release.

They may be useless to you but not to everyone. The point of being VIP is really the reward points. VIP early access isn't really a blockade for anyone. If you try and buy a set that is VIP during early access they just sign you up real quick.

I'm new to Lego Trains with this year's holiday train being my first. I decided to power it and so far I've been pretty impressed except for the fact that it stops by itself after a minute or 2. Is this normal? I can use the remote to turn start it right back up but it's kind of annoying to have to do that. I have it as a holiday decoration and would prefer that it just kept going. Is this normal? Is there anything that can be done about it? Right now I'm using battery box 8881 (https://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-Functions-Battery-Box-8881) while I wait for 88000 to arrive. It was back ordered to replace my order. I don't think this is the problem but maybe it is so I thought I'd mention it.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
provoaggie replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Based on a picture of the back of the box it looks like you are right. The designer video shows that the entire train spins. The rest of the official images are here: https://www.facebook...153897087763403 -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
provoaggie replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I just looked back through this thread for when things came out with the Detective Agency. Rumors started in June, confirmation with price on August 30, pictures on November 16. If this year's Modular follows that pattern then we still have a little while to wait. -

How do you display your modular building collection?
provoaggie replied to yanathin's topic in LEGO Town
I have my Modular's on an Ikea shelf over our staircase and also threw the BTTF Delorean into the display. -
Isn't it this part? There is more than 1. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=100702&colorID=59

Almost ready to buy my next modular.... But having a tough time decidi
provoaggie replied to mkeller234's topic in LEGO Town
Limited quantities and very rare parts. The modulars weren't always as popular as they are now and many of them use parts that aren't available in other sets (or at least not very many other sets). As the modulars got popular demand for the discontinued ones went up with people wanting to have complete collections and Bricklinking became difficult because of the rare parts. -

I'd go with Fire Brigade. I think it looks nicer and even though GE is next to go, I don't think you'll be able to find FB for $215 for that much longer. It's not going to hit the high dollar prices of the first 3 modulars but it's going to go up a bit more. -
What is Bricks N Pieces? I've used PAB before but I've never heard of BnP until this thread. Do they have more parts available? Prices cheaper? Advantages over PAB?

Very nice design but it's too large for the competition. The competition only allows a single stud overhang of the 16x16 plate while this wouldn't fit that criteria.
-
The Carousel really is the center piece of this set. It's as large as some of the early buildings in this series and in my opinion makes this set worth it. The other pieces are just side pieces to complete the display.
-
I still don't think they really intended to have the technic plate bend once put on. It bugged me enough that I requested the short axle to replace it. They sent it to me and it's been perfect ever since. You can just go on Lego's website and say that the piece was missing if you don't want to call in.

I'd like to see some closer pictures of the support structure for the seating along the sides as well as in the corner. I've been designing a basketball arena in LDD and that's been the toughest part. I have a workable solution right now but it looks like you nailed it.
-
I built the merry go round yesterday and it was a fun build. I did have the same problem mentioned earlier so I have to wait for a new axle to come from Lego to completely finish it.

Does this mean that it will be available in Lego stores on that date? Do you need to be a VIP member ahead of time or can you become a VIP member when you go get it?
