  1. I got the Chima sets with both of my orders too- but no note of explanation. I emailed customer service, and they explained that it's promotional to get you interested. I'm not really a Chima fan, but this was nice little bonus from Lego.
  2. I was surprised by this B-wing deal, and ordered it in a separate order from the x-wing. I've wanted the B-wing, but have been putting it off. 50% off? How can I resist?
  3. Got the x-wing and the b-wing with two separate orders. Super excited, but where am I going to put these things?!?
  4. Thanks for this great review, Rufus. If I could have afforded it, I would have bought the original, so I'm very happy this came out. I think this is a significant improvement. The original red looks orange in your comparison photos!
  5. Don't go away! Wait another day... If you stay, your patience may pay...
  6. Yeah, why does the chicken suit guy go to the US? Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go pick up my Chicken Suit from the dry cleaners.
  7. Well, I've seen them in zoos, but I've never seen one eating out of my birdfeeder. But hey, we're America, if we want an ostrich, we get an ostrich!
  8. I haven't followed all 12 pages, so forgive me if it's been pointed out, but... the ostrich on the right of the banner...
  9. I agree with Oky- this doesn't mean the "end." There is something else in store- perhaps one last season, perhaps some specials. I think it would be good if they did a full length movie to wrap it up, even if it's televised.
  10. Great job! This really captures the feel of Barnes and Noble. As pretty much the last remaining book store chain in the US, this makes me a bit nostalgic, but nonetheless, this is one of my favorite modular MOCs.
  11. I loved this arc. I can't believe that they made me actually feel the way I do about the Jedi Council... disappointed, I guess? I hope that there is a season 6. I still think that there are some gaps with ROTS. From a fellow Pittsburgher, Filoni did a great job with this one!
  12. Masked, thanks for a great review. Especially since you haven't been an architecture fan. It's pretty objective. I don't know this building- didn't know Wright designed it. But, I love the architecture series, and this looks like a good build. I'll probably get it.
  13. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I might now get this set just for the sticker/suitcase. Ugh. Hate to admit that. Other than that, this set is just average for me. Thanks for the review!
  14. I've been wondering what he would say about all this! I agree with Kiel- I have no problem with this being a "rehash." Wouldn't it be wonderful if every SW AFOL could have an "ultimate" version of their favorite ship? I suspect that was the original intention behind the UCS, not to make it a rare collector's version. That seems to be more the concern about the "rehash" haters. "I have it and you don't." Can't we all be happy? It is a toy, after all, not a Picasso.
  15. After seeing Wildboar's comparison pictures, I don't think I have a problem with R2's size at all. I was anxious for all of the comments to come in on this one to see everyone's opinion. I'm in the camp that I don't see all the negativity. This model is fantastic. Perfect, no. It's a vast improvement over prior versions. And I'm grateful that those of us who didn't get the original UCS have the opportunity to get this. And by the way, just because something was an "UCS" in the past, doesn't mean it's the "ultimate" version that can be done. I see no reason why UCS sets can't be redone and improved over the years.
  16. Well, it's nice to finally see. The R2 unit looks too small, I almost wish they would have just made a more proportionate top, like with Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter. The s-foil mechanism looks smooth. I'll be curious to see how it feels in person; how "stable" it is. Is that windscreen printed, or are those stickers? Stickers would be a disappointment. I couldn't get the a-wing ones on just right. It's a must buy for me!
  17. I like that look alot. I've thought about building my own cars, but haven't yet done so. This looks like an good way to make some realistic hoppers. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Thanks for a great review. I was prepared to not like this set, because it wasn't the original Z-95 from the EU. But during the build, I fell in love with it. It was an enjoyable build, though not much original. I love the way the missile works. It's so easy to fire when you're swooshing. I wasn't sure if I'd like Krell, but in person I think he works. By the way, Bobsy- I like your Avatar.
  19. Thanks for this great review. I love A-wings, so I'm a bit biased. I'm not sure that this version is a great improvement over the past A-wings. It still doesn't capture the "smashed cone" look that I think A-wings have. I still think there has to be a way to round out the sides, but I haven't found it yet. Overall, the look is good- but still not there. I am happy that they made an effort at the indented nose, but it's a bit wide. This too is a hard detail to get with MOCing. I could do without the flick fires. I like the use of the technic piece for the guns/targeting apparatus, but the flick fires fail here. Way too many stickers- especially on the canopy. I think the pilot minifig is fantastic. The helmet is amazing, and has made this my current favorite minifig. I agree that this is the best set of the wave, but as I said, I'm biased. I'm happy to add it to my A-wing squadron!
  20. Squirrel- subtle and very funny! I'm glad you snuck that in there. I just don't like the way the blue looks on these, accurate or not. Reminds me of the old TIE's.
  21. Thanks for this review. The helmets are fantastic, but the vehicle looks kind of bland. Is it a real vehicle from the Old Republic?
  22. The TRU in Monroeville, Pennsylvania (USA, outside of Pittsburgh), has at least the A-wing, the Z-95, and the Republic vs. Sith Troopers sets. I picked up the A-wing. The pilot is fantastic. I really had to resist the Headhunter, but I'll try to wait and get it at cheaper than the TRU price.
  23. I agree, the rigging is amazing. Thanks for sharing this.
  24. I'm really looking forward to this, Rufus. Good luck with the project. Maybe it will inspire me to restore my Classic Space. By the way, that attic grime looks familiar!
  25. I'm proud to say that I got the movie references... one of my all time favorites! Good work.
