  1. I am 20, about to turn 21, and am not at all ashamed about my LEGO hobby. I have no problem buying LEGO, walking into the LEGO Stores (everyone knows me at all the LEGO stores anyways) and buying stuff. I tell my friends about my hobby and how I exhibit my MOCs with NILTC. The usual reaction I get from them is "oh cool" but some just say its still "kids stuff". Personally though, I think that those who do not think this stuff is fun are those that just forgotten how to have fun, I think building is a great way to relieve stress and forget about the troubles of the day. If I have friends over, I tell them that my basement is a bit cluttered with LEGO, and they do not seem to grasp the shear insanity they are walking into, having 200K+ brick is not the easiest collection to hide, I get the "Holy $#!+" reaction all the time, but them "this is awesome" as the second reply. What sometimes is funny though, those people I tell about LEGO who think its "lame and childish" sometimes end up at one of our club shows sneaking around in the back to actually see the displays. I will never be ashamed of my Hobbies, I just tell others "Well, at least I know how to have fun".
  2. It is a LEGO made part. They are old minifigure legs from the beginnings of the minifig. They are listed under "Legs old" on Bricklink.
  3. They do, But I believe you need to specify to the Event coordinators before hand you are running power.
  4. Please add "robuko" to the list!
  5. Thats because this thread is from 2004.
  6. I'll be there as well with my large Japanese style town displaying as well! Also I will be bringing my Modulex MOCs! So come down and say hello!
  7. So far for the Katana, yes, two variations, but quite a few colors, old light grey, bley, teal, pearl gold, black, and pearl silver.
  8. This is going to be a good series! I would love to get a bunch of the Kimono girls for my Japanese themed display! I love all the figs in this series! Well done LEGO!
  9. Yes, those are two different swords. The PoP swords had square hilts while the Katana has the octagonal hilt as seen even in the classic Ninja sets and the rest of the swords except PoP.
  10. I Cant Wait! I Think this time I should get a hotel room as it was kinda tiring commuting 40 mins each way every night.
  11. I want that VW Bus! Neat commercial too.
  12. Glad everyone liked the cars, I'm building a few more, will post pics a bit later.
  13. Yes, that was quite cute, but I don't know, its kinda tough to beat kitten videos though... Kittens are quite cute as well.
  14. Some of these: and a few other bits and some tricky building!
  15. Ridiculous Negative Camber. ...Its JDM.
  16. I just thought I'd share some of my 4 wide tuner cars with all of you. After constantly trying to experiment with doing accurate style turning detail in 4 wide, these are just some of my latest creations. I also like building in classic 4 wide and try to keep all my car in 4 wide, but try to detail as much as possible. A bunch of low Japanese style drift cars, tuners, and Japanese police cars. BMW E36: Boso style front oil cooler, massive rear neg camber, dual exhaust, and glow in the dark underglow! Tis was just my test of how wild I can go with suspension set ups! Rear: Red tuner: Headlights and underglow Glow in the dark!! Showing off the sound system: Black drift car: Japanese police force: last but not least... BOSOZOKU!!! Yes all the pointy things and wild body is intentional and based off a real Japanese tuning style. Hope you enjoyed these, more to come, comments welcome!
  17. Just leave it at the customer service counter. I have done this quite a bit when I ride my bike to stores, I just tell them I rode my bike here, have my pack, and ask politely if I can leave it here until I am done shopping. If you're polite it should be no problem.
  18. This series looks good so far to me, I cannot wait to get my hands on a few cases if possible and as many Samurai as I can. From the 11 cases that the one store had, it seems that production has been upped greatly, if stores will be getting 10, 11, or more cases than the 1 or 2 from previous then it should make more people happy to find these.
  19. I checked my Target, They have tons of X-Wings, I think at least 100 or more, and the same amount of police boats, as well as the minifigure flashlights.
  20. Also, the LEGO tire would fall off way before it would balloon, on an RC car, the tires are either beadlocked on offroaders, or glued on road cars or both, my 1/10 Tamiya onroad car with a brushless motor had unglued tires on before and would just whip them off before it even got to top speed. And Ballooning is caused by shear speed of the tire, not air. New RC cars today can easily get up to 70 mph, any tire at that speed will deform without any support inside the tire.
  21. Most likely... this showed up here too: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48482
  22. Haven't boughten much since the last post, like 150 elements. School has been dominating my time so I have not really looking for modulex stuff. How bout' you?

  23. I again do not think of the Lamp post as a big deal. As a matter of fact, I'll be ordering those lamp posts soon because they are better than LEGO, there is the ability to incorporate LED lighting into them while LEGO does not have a hole to do so. I do not modify LEGO bricks and do not want to drill out my lamp posts, but have no problem using this alternative. I believe the lamp post is made for those of us who want light up MOCs and cannot/will not modify LEGO parts to do so. Again, complimentary element, not direct competition.
  24. BrickArms, BrickForge, AmazingArmory, etc. etc. Are NOT clone brands, but customizers and accessory producers. A clone brand would be one that has exact or similar products to LEGO rather than a complimentary element. BA and BF do not make for example 2x4 bricks like Tyco, Coby, MB makes, they make parts as a complimentary part for existing LEGO, not direct competition to TLG. I have no problems using these parts for my MOCs, its fun to spice up a MOC with some cool parts that LEGO will probably never consider producing.
  25. Creepy. Looks like some kid's nightmare of what lives in the closet or under the bed, haha. I like it, well done!
