Thank you! I used the color Nougat/Flesh because it was the best one available in LDD to represent copper.

Thank you for your kind comments! There isn't that much to see in the interior. The core is a 16-sided circular polygonal frame build with locking hinges. The shell panels are clipped on (clips and plates with handles). Additionally, a technic frame connects the orthogonal sides and supports the bottom and top covers. Since I don't want to build it right now and it wasn't the focus of the competition I didn't spend a lot of time on the interior, so it's a bit rough now and probably would need some additional strengthening. Glad you like the colors, I spent some time to try out different combinations and find the best look! Also I wanted to try something different than the usual plate based construction and show less studs. So this is how the design evolved!

Hello everyone, This is my design for the LEGO Rebrick Freighter Wars contest (building your own YT Corellian light freighter). Here's a link to the entry with additional pics: https://www.lego.com/en-us/rebrick/view-entry. The Dashing Banshee is named after the Corellian Banshee bird and upgraded with everything available in terms of speed and concealment. The YT-1300 light freighter was refitted to be used as a courier ship. It is equipped with technology to escape, elude and hide from any pursuer. Sporting no visible weaponry helps to keep a low profile. The model was designed from scratch in LDD and consists of 5173 parts. I went for a smooth design based on the original YT-1300 with some distinctive modifications. Hope you like it!

This is probably the most complex model I've designed (and built) up to now. The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is one of the most spectacular buildings of the recent decades. Its style of deconstructivism and seemingly random but also very organic curves make for a magnificent view. It was a real challenge to build this in LEGO. I decided to use white bricks for the titanium surface - metallic parts are too rare in LEGO and grey seems too dull for the highly reflective surfaces. The building is surrounded by water and some large works of art, most noticeable the tulips (represented by violet cherries in the model) and the puppy by Jeff Koons. REVIEW: Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
t-brick replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well-done review for a very interesting set! The many curves and subtle details really make this model stand out. The "big change" seems to be that the base is formed by black plates directly at the bottom and not with dark grey plates one level above? That's probably because now there is also a light grey sidewalk level.- 11 replies

The completion of the Elbe Philharmonic Hall in Hamburg was celebrated with a big opening concert and light show just a few days ago on January 11. Reason enough for me to design a small architecture style LEGO model (262 parts)! The building by Herzog & de Meuron is 108m high and unifies old and new architecture with a modern construction on top of an old warehouse brick building. It includes a concert hall, apartments and a hotel. It is build on a small peninsula of the Elbe River and is considered to be one of the largest and most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world. You can download the PDF instructions (for free) to build this model on my website http://www.thilo-schoen.de/lego.html. Hope you like it!

Looks really good! A very sleek design, rounded and sloped parts perfectly integrated!

A great build to a great movie! Ingenious parts use and unconventional design lead to a perfect result.

Nice! My favorites are the Pixar lamp (maybe the PIXAR letters could go with it?) and the little Wall-E.

Great! I love the hotel lobby but the baby room is great as well. Very creative parts use and atmospheric color combinations!

Great! I thought about doing a Skyline of Paris too after the one of Munich, but I can't see how it could get any better than this! :-)

[MOC] Architecture Skyline of Munich (Instructions available)
t-brick replied to t-brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
OK, the windmill is difficult but the house makes a nice MOC for in between. :-) Here you go: You can download the LDD file here (and expand it somewhat if you like): www.thilo-schoen.de/files/Netherlands.lxf- 5 replies

[MOC] Architecture Skyline of Munich (Instructions available)
t-brick replied to t-brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you! I'll try to provide some more instructions in the future. Do you have anything specifically in your mind that could become a nice Netherlands MOC? Maybe that'd give me an idea...- 5 replies

The official LEGO Architecture skyline sets are really nice but there are so few of them and so many cities! So I designed my own skyline set for the city of Munich. It features several landmark buildings of the town, namely (from left to right) the Gothic Frauenkirche (Cathedral), the neo-Gothic New Town Hall (with the Marian column and the Fish Fountain in front of it), St. Peter's Church, Siegestor (Victory Gate), the 291m high Olympic Tower and the BMW Headquarters. You can download the PDF instructions (for free) to build this model on my website http://www.thilo-schoen.de/lego.html. Hope you like it!

My former LEGO Ideas project Medieval Micro Modulars seems to have gained some popularity on Pinterest (although it has expired some time ago). I created instructions for it now so anyone can build this although it hasn't become an official set! The Medieval Micro Modulars are a line of detailed microscale buildings in a medieval setting. This can be expanded any time with new buildings or maybe a market place, a town wall or even a castle! Each of the five parts I designed consists of a building based on an 8x8 plate and an equally sized street piece. The streets are populated by trees, wells, market stalls, animals like donkeys (can pull hay carts), sheep or goats and colorfully clothed microfigures (including a guard with a lance)! Each building consists of about 200-250 pieces (including street and accessories). You can download the PDF instructions (for free) on my website http://www.thilo-schoen.de/lego.html. Hope you like it! Also feel free to design your own additional buildings and post them here if you like!
