Nice to see the interior pics. I'm especially interested by some of the new elements. That door frame and those curved tiles will be very useful to me. I would have really liked to have seen a new colour but guess can't have it all. Still feels a little cramped to me but upon seeing more close-ups i appreciate how much they have put into this.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
snaillad replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Very nice. Few throwbacks to cafe corner there. Perhaps a little cramped looking for my liking but I'll probably still pick one up at some point. -
Sweet model with a lot of little details. I was wondering if you would do a minifig scale garage after the larger scale models I've seen from you before. Great job.

Really nice set of buildings. I like how they are made with plates to give the illusions of bricks. Really charming interior details, especially that cheese shop. Well done!

Thank you carebear, Gongoro73, eliza and Captain Braunsfeld Thanks RogerSmith! Sadly nothing upstairs, it would have been difficult to support a second floor with on the two side walls. Cheers Steph 104th, ER0L, Man with a hat, Bartram, Wookiee and LEGO Train 12 Volts. I appreciate and read all your comments!

Thanks bricklover, its long overdue I also made some interiors! Cheers gabrielerava! Thanks BrickCurve, sadly I have limited tree elements, I've seen some awesome palm tree designs but I didn't have the parts to replicate so its the best with what I had! Thank you Gongoro73, AFOLguy1970 and BrickJagger! Cheers eurotrash, it was fun to build something with plenty of colour. Although I can't say if it's true to original colour schemes, mine are taken mostly from Disney Hollywood studios! Thanks Dazz! Thanks peedeejay, it may look easy but I tell you I pull my hair out trying to make MOC's that haven't been seen before! Whether that be in colour and or style. Much appreciated BlockLogo, Vindicare and alex54!

Hello fellow EB members; I present my newest MOC with a distinct American feel from the 1940's - Brickhills Avenue. It was inspired by a trip to Disney's Hollywood studios several years ago. I was really interested in the Art Deco/Streamline styling of some of the stores on 'Sunset Boulevard' and 'Hollywood Boulevard' and did some research to find out where they got their inspiration from. Many of these buildings are based on real one's in and around L.A, many of which are still in use today albeit with different purposes. The corner store houses Gini's electrical store and the white and black streamline building is a ladies clothing boutique. I certainly enjoyed making the ladies store more than the electrical shop I've set it in the early 1960's, just as the 'Walk of fame' stars we're being added to the sidewalk/pavement, also a good excuse to use some very cool Scooby-Doo 1960's hairpieces! Anyway on with the pics - all 7 of them; You can see them at flickr if you prefer on the link here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Any questions, comments or suggestions welcomed!

Smashing work. I really like the way the water tapers down. Trees and rockwork also look great
-
Very nice work! I like the roof, the texturing and especially the covered entrance with the white door.
-
Very impressive scale and sleek design! Great job!

Great detailing on the windows, I've often wanted to use flexi-tubing but the official stuff is too expensive. Where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking? Looking forward to seeing more of the hotel develop! I'm guessing the guests will be able to walk on the roof of the dining hall?

Thanks Chr.Maglekaer, Lego Conductor and KlodsBrik, glad you like it! Cheers BrickCurve, I definitely agree on the tree, it lacks height. The landscaping at the rear was a little rushed as I wanted to get it done before my holiday only a couple of days after. Thank you LEGO Train 12 Volts, Captain Braunsfeld and TheJiral! What do you mean story? My minifigures had a great time when I was away, I'm sure some of my bottles are less full....... Thanks eliza and Littleworlds! Cheers alex54, no I've not seen one like it, I've seen some good examples of giant object shaped buildings online but none in person, don't think we get them over here. Cheers lightningtiger, also thanks to Rick for the FP post. Thank you dzidek1983, Puffle Pal26, jfbat, greg3, strider117, Pandora, BrickFit26, jackaly, scottwb2010, Dazz and Man with a hat! Sorry for all the late replies, it was a bit of a rush to get it finished before I went on holiday, I delighted people 'got it' and it will probably give me some encouragement to do more novelty themed buildings in the future!

Hi, the chairs are made with the following pieces as brickset part numbers and terms: 2 x '21712' - Angle Plate 1X2 / 2X2 1 x '99207' - Angular Plate 1.5 Bot. 1X2 2/2 3 x '3069' - 1x2 flat tile 1 x '3068' - 2x2 flat tile 1 x '3023' - 1x2 plate 2 x '3839' - mini handle Basically, the single angular plate is what the fig sits on, it only sits on 2 studs though! The other two angular plates are attached horizontally and the mini handles attached as seen in the pics the tiles simply smooth out a few rough edges. Good luck!

Thanks Romanos and murphy_slaw! Originally I never intended to make a coffee cup it was going to be a jar of Jam but couldn't get the a look I was happy with, the coffee cup was a quick change, glad you like it! Cheers soccerkid6 and peedeejay! Thanks polarstein, I'm finding things look better in 3's. Well I didn't intend to hint at any country with the bicycle, I just thought it might be wise to work off some of those calories from those pastries!

Hello fellow EB members! My latest project is more of a novelty building rather than my usual MOC's with lots of architectural details. I thought it'd be pretty fun to make a more 'quirky' building. I've seen plenty of novelty buildings online but not so much in person, I don't think its something seen much here in the UK. A toaster seemed an obvious shape to make with what bricks I have so turning it into a bakery sold itself! All manner of pastries, loaves and much more are available to purchase all freshly baked onsite in the 'flour' tower. Grab a coffee to go at the cup kiosk! On with the pics - only 3 of them; You can view them on my flickrstream if you prefer here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome!

I really like the colour scheme, the kettles and the delivery vehicle is very well done! -
Thanks guys for such kind comments! Cheers Brick-Surfer. Sadly not enough room to make a whole airport but maybe some smaller sections in the future! Thanks razmaspazLEGO2, of all the source material I could find it shows airline travel as an exciting place to be, would have been a great to feeling to have experienced it at that time!

Thanks murphy_slaw! The wall is not fixed in place but merely resting. The whole window section is built on its side, there is an extra brick layer where the window section joins with the 'sloped' wall. The sloped wall is made up on 1x2x3 slope bricks. The window section rests against the slope and the 'plate with rail' covers this transition and leaves no gaps. There is some raised tiles layed on the base to stop too much movement of the frame. I had thought of using some hinged plates integrated into the floor but it would of probably meant building the whole base on its side. Cheers Thanks Kellelely I spend more time faffing on with choosing figures than building sometimes! Cheers iammac, It was a pain to try and make something look simple with that clock! As for the figures, I thought the airport is an ideal place for a variety of people going about their travels. I had to stop myself putting in a geisha after seeing some great pics from 1960's Haneda airport in Tokyo, really mixed it up between the businessmen. Thanks Max! Thank you ER0L I've made so many bars but usually the have been housed within modular buildings so I've always been restricted, it was great to be able to make the counter the focus of the scene. I did contemplate using some forced perspective to make a interesting background through the windows but might save that for a future build! Great shout though with the constellation! Thanks Man with a hat!

Hi everyone, I am always looking to broaden my range of Architecture styles that I try my hand at, so this time its mid-century modern. This was a good way of incorporating some interior ideas I had without building a huge exterior building to house it. I've went with a understated colour palette, and simple but varied textures which are found in many a lobby of civic buildings built around this time. A few features such as the large simple wallclock, sloping windows and planters were all a common site in all the reference material I could find. The bar overhang(er) was a personal touch. It's another bar but this time within an Airport lounge. Anyway on with the pics, 5 in all; You can view them on my flickr stream here if you prefer: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome! Bon voyage!

Wow. This collection of buildings is fantastic. Art nouveau and it's other names is a style I've always loved and wanted to recreate in Lego form but there are no examples where I live to be inspired by. The sphere and domed glass roof on the corner are my favourite elements here but I also appreciate very much the red and white buildings tall columns and windows. Great job!

Great looking ship! The hull is particularly well done.

Well done to everyone who entered the contest. It was difficult to know who to vote for with so many good entries!
