  1. Cheers guys! Thanks, the window shutters are perhaps not the most secure so I've cheated a little! Thank you, my photography skills are still hopeless, but my editing is slowly getting better! Thanks for the kind comments! It's been in light aqua for a little while now, I got it from a small friends set some time ago. Cheers!
  2. Thanks very much, glad you like it! Thanks! I have heard Capri is a delight, can't say I drew inspiration from it for this MOC, maybe i'll source some pics from there for another build in the future! Thanks! Once I get a hold of some more colours i'll definately do more southern European setups. Maybe Eastern Europe also.... This is definatley an expensive trip, after all everything is paid for in 100s! Thank you very much!
  3. Hello fellow Eurobricks members, I've been working on my latest MOC the last few weeks - 'Visit the RIVIERA'. A MOC based around a marina with a southern European influence. There is a small wedding shop, a bell tower, and restaurant on the ground floor with tables outside around the marina where fishermen bring in their catches. A previous European styled MOC - Piazza Maria had bright colour combinations and perfect smooth rendering on the buildings so this was an excuse for me to try my hand at something that looked a little more weathered! Anyway on with the pics, 6 in total: You can also view them on flickr here: https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Any comments/feedback welcomed! Cheers!
  4. 8) Series 12 - Battle Goddess Entry (Build by Vorkosigan) - 1 point 48) Series 1 - Super Wrestler Entry (Build by crises_crs) - 1 point 64) Series 1 - Demolition Dummy Entry (Build by Neyt86) - 1 point
  5. 18) Farmer Entry (Build by JacloS_UA) - 1 point 45) Clumsy Guy Entry (Build by Wat Tambor) - point 48) Ballerina Entry (Build by Pakita) - 1 point
  6. I like the lack of symmetry with varying heights. Looks like a nice place to sit outside for ice cream!
  7. Very cool, I like the use of fabuland pieces and classic colours!
  8. I really like the mix of textures on the exterior, it's a shame Lego don't make sand red windows, as it would probably compliment the upper exterior quite well. As for the interior details that style layout is not something I've seen before and think it looks great! Nice one!
  9. Excellent work, I particularly like the green corner building. As always the interior details are great, well done!
  10. Thanks Boromir and Brickadier, I did interiors but I couldn't get any good shots, as there is 2 rooms separated by a staircase so space is limited, one of the reasons I prefer open backed buildings! Thanks Kristel! Cheers Ajax, I suspect paradisa is gone for good, I suppose the spirit lives on somewhat in the Friends line. Thank you Redhead1982, I would have loved to make some of the letters in the Paradisa pastel pink or even a modern pink colour but had to go with what I had. I hope to re-invent something from the past again later in the year! Cheers cebelicamya! Hi Immo, I nearly gave him pink rollerskates from a CMF waitress but had to draw the line somewhere! Thanks connyx and legojeroen!
  11. Lovely bridge, would be nice to see it as part of a bigger scene!
  12. Thanks Mr Greeble, it was pretty fun to build I just wish I had more appropriate pink bricks to put in the sign! Hi BlockLogo, the awning is attached onto 1x2 hinge bricks which are connected horizontally onto 1x4 bricks with studs on one side, there is hardly any weight on the awning and pretty stable so I only used a few hinges. Its also set back a little deeper into the building to the hinges can be hidden. Best of luck! Thanks Graham Gidman! Cheers Only Sinner and Robert8, this is how man on roller skates likes to relax in his spare time, in most of the paradisa sets he's waiting on other people! Thank you very much peedeejay, ArchitectureFan, KlodsBrik and shannanigan! Thanks brickbuilder711, I don't tend to purchase friends sets but I am very grateful for the colours, I'm hoping someday someone at TLG gets my hint about sand red! Thanks TenorPenny and Sven F, this was the specific kind of building I had in mind when I purchased the curved windows, but I did use one in my previous garage build, I've got other ideas how to use them, science fiction probably. Was there not a scene in Scareface where Tony Montana wore rollerskates?
  13. Hello everyone, I was Inspired by a couple of sets I had when I was a child - Breezeway Cafe - 6376 and Sand Dollar Cafe - 6411. The colour combinations used were cheerful and I always wished I had bricks using the colours of the Sand dollar baseplate in particular! Thanks to the 'friends' theme for bringing more choice of bricks in lighter colours I can create something I've had in mind for sometime now. The main part I wanted to use was the large curved window pieces which I purchased a while back. The ground floor houses a bicycle and surf board rental shop and the Paradisa cafe bar area, the upstairs lifts off in one piece and has more seating for a great sea view! No parrots included, although I have added the much loved seagull, a splash of pink and the usual palm-tree. I would have loved to have done a fully rendered background in the style of Paradisa but don't have the know how so I've simply used a couple of the typical colours. On with the 3 and only 3 pics (Hopefully Santa will bring me a new Camera!) You can view them on my flickr page here https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Any comments of feedback welcome! Best wishes for winter! Bring on summer
  14. Nice entry into the contest, would look great integrated into a larger layout with large trees and such, good luck!
  15. Very well presented, I particularly like the outside seating area.
  16. Excellent work, like the height compared to normal winter village buildings. Beer mugs are well done, good selection of figs and a very cool truck to boot!
  17. Thanks Withacee! Cheers agadoijo the yellow building was inspired by a couple on Rua Garrett! Thank you Kristel, the door was fun if a bit fussy to build. The yellow building is my more favored of the two, perhaps the red is a bit more harsh of a colour than I would like but the only other colours I had available would have it looking more like Piazza Maria part 2! Thanks Phadeout and Gabor!
  18. Wow, scale and detail is incredible, interior looks awesome as well, this certainly will stand out at the show! Well done!
  19. Nice layout! Good mix of modular buildings and custom vehicles. I'd like to see a few more closeup shots of the custom buildings as they look pretty good!
  20. Very charming, I particularly like the vine covered wall, well done!
  21. Thanks BlockLogo! Cheers Redhead1982, those pillars I've had for ages, long overdue to put them to good use! Although I cheated slightly with my offset next to the door. I had intended to make an awning in similar style to cafe corner but eventually gave up as there was too much of an unsightly gap. Hinged bricks is definitely much easier! Thank you RogerSmith, sadly there isn't too much more in terms of detail, I didn't make too much effort with interior detail, although the link to flickr should lead you to some slightly bigger images, although the quality isn't great. The colour is 'cool yellow' according to brickset. I got plenty of it for a reasonable price from the online PAB, similar prices to the more common colours. The floor heights do vary slightly, the exterior is almost a 'curtain' wall with the floors inside attached from the windows for stability hence why an interior would of looked messy and I didn't bother with it. Thanks Palixa And The Bricks!
  22. Thank you RMBP, it's flattering someone from that country finds something familiar! Portugal was great, I would definitely return! If only I had enough bricks I would love to build more of a street! Thanks eurotrash, I had hoped to create a fully tiled facade for the smaller building but could not source enough of an interesting colour so I had to come up with something different, I'm sure I saw a similar outline on a building somewhere! Cheers Peppermint_M, in my experience the pavement was rarely as flat as my MOC Thank you Brick Capone, KlodsBrik, LEGO Train 12 Volts, Graham Gidman and peedeejay! The shop fronts were fun to build! Thanks leongsteven, The building on the left does take some influences, probably mostly the roof, I would have liked to have made it in a more authentic colour, I seldom found examples of a black roof. Cheers Hobbythom and TheLegoDr, most of my buildings are not massively technically challenging but I do spend alot of time of time tinkering when building and usually try and do a few things I've never tried before to get some sort of realism. Thank you notaromantic, its flattering you see my builds as a style to my own, I would describe it as less complicated in appearance visually than some other town builders, but cheerful none the less. Hi BlockLogo, to be honest I wasn't sure what you meant but if you did only think it was 'okay' I would respect that too Thanks El Garfio, my trick is to dismantle and re-use my bricks, I'm short of space, so sadly I have to say goodbye to my mocs several months after making them, it's hard but it means I have decent choice in what to work with when I start a new project. I also do many sketches before and during building. Thanks Dazz and Gongoro73!
  23. Hi folks, My long running saga of a project has finally been finished. Inspired by a trip to Portugal this summer, Rua Amarelo is a corner street featuring a Pasteleria and a hat shop. The yellow corner building is perhaps more authentic in colour and I would of preferred to have made a tiled effect for the narrower building but could not source enough tiles from what I had at my disposal. Really would like TLG to bring back sand red in an assortment of pieces! No interior this time but I'm hoping to have something to see inside on my next MOC which is already planned. Anyway on with all 4 of the pics; You can view them at flickr if you so wish https://www.flickr.c...s/52656812@N04/ Comments welcome!
  24. Nice job on the facade, really like that use of tiles!
  25. Nice work on the facade, I really like what you've done over the doorway.
