  1. Nerwen nods and follows
  2. I see. Somewhat like the lick-sip-suck that they play in the mistlands with fermented snake venom, salt and a citron. As for mud, perhaps you mean the mori'quessir, unless you are back to being your common self and not trying to be noble. Has anyone else found anything of note? Paladin? Ninja Girl? Nerwen is intregued by the black object, she wishes she knew what it did...
  3. Nerwen looks around to see Guts drugging himself again. I am surprised you do not mix them beforehand to save time and, knowing you, add some more alcohol to it.
  4. Nerwen enters the warehouse behind the other heroes. Already the rogues were rifling through the goods stored there. Looking for shiny trinkets no doubt. I am sorry for my lateness, my trip to the market must have taken longer than I thought. Since it is the obvious item out of place, Nerwen inspects the black tardiswardrobe thing. stats good!
  5. Nerwen excuses herself and walks down to the market. After stopping by Elphaba's wagon, she has two new scrolls tucked into her satchel and an empty coin-purse.
  6. Nerwen steps up to Elphabs's wagon and purchases a scroll of sleep and a scroll of sealing. Handing over 100g Nerwen has 0g lef. She thanks Elphaba and returns to the hall.
  7. Stars shine on our meeting, Master Ratibor. Yes, I do have the power of healing, gifted from my makers in order to bring harmony to the world. I have no doubt that, with these rogues about my staff and your shield will be needed. it's ok, perhaps something like "sorrow watched Nerwen's reaction carefully".. that would give me a hook to respond to. I don't mean to be preaching how to RP though! Nerwen smelled the figure. Though she could not smell breath, there was a sharp note of odor about him. Drinking you mean? I doubt it. But you smell... pickled. Your insides must be a sight. So, is everyone ready to go? I have yet to go to the marketplace after the last quest.
  8. Endgame, please don't narrate my character's actions (no matter how insignificant seeming) without having cleared with me first. Guts and Nerwen is... complicated Nerwen's face remained impassive as the hoodlum told her Guts was leading. He does have a tendency toward drinking and distraction. We shall see how seriously he takes the role. But given his history, he cannot be to severe on insubordination with hypocracy.
  9. Nerwen returned to the hall. The days spent meditating in the Grotto of Sem had done little to ease her inner turmoil. A group of heroes was gathered around the quest board, a large white furred creature, a cleric, ninja girl, another hooded rogue, was there no end of rogues, they should call it herogueica. and of course, the ubiquitous, scruffy raider. She could hear them discussing Sorrow, the dark star and magically appearing buildings. Approaching them she saw her name, along with Guts' and some others. Clearly this was her party. Two clerics, three rogues? There would be a lot of sneaking and hurting on this one. And Guts. Arrogant, insufferable Guts.composing herself, she approached the group. Peace upon you, I am Nerwen. The raider I know, but to the rest of you, hello. Has there been a party leader named?
  10. Possibly, like me he accesses primarily through an iPad or moblie. There is no option for editing modes.
  11. I echo all the praise, it was an enjoyable, beautifully presented quest. Especially the ways the battles were varied to prevent a lucky assassin OHKOing the whole opposition. Of course, I would have loved an extra battle or two (so close to an advanced class!) And I am glad I didn't overstep in posting actions for absent heroes, it's always a fine line to judge.
  12. Well down town. Stupid paranoid axe owner. Good fun game. Thanks all!
  13. Nerwen returns briefly to the hall. Seeing many about, but not yet in a place where she was comfortable after all that happened in the temple, she left again. But not without signing up for quest #51 and #52.
  14. Nerwen accepts the fire bomb. Diola lle, thank you. I must confess though it do not recognise your dialect. Where is it from? As I mentioned in the R&D topic I use Grey company Elven for my elvish (asked heavily on Tolkien). What do you use, if anything?
  15. Nerwen held her hand up as Thalion returned the cap. No, you keep it. As you can see I already have this circlet which protects me from the wind. If you do not want it as a gift you can give me 5 gold for it. But I do not mind giving it to you.
  16. Nerwen would have run at Namyrra and hugged her in sheer relief, except that she rarely displayed emotion openly. As it was she nodded at her and the hapless William. Speaking to Cinna she said. I will join you and Namyrra in speaking to the Ziegfrieds. Also, Namyrra, I think this staff would be safest in your hands. With that, Nerwen gives Namyrra the staff of the necromancer.
  17. which half do you mean? I have not yet faced a choice, and you as yet, have not put anyone above yourself. I know that I am not the only one who can read elvish. But I also know you cannot.
  18. I play other games, so have in mind a framework for attributes, even if I do not attach specific numbers to them. It is difficult sometimes to portray weaker characteristics, because the character, knowing they are not strong in areas, does not put themselves forward in situations where those qualities are demanded. I have sought though, to show the negative aspects of Nerwen's strengths though. She is long lived, but that often leads to introspection as she dwells on past experiences. She is wise, but there are areas of self-doubt in there. She is honest, everything she says is (as far as she knows) true, but she is not above lying by omission or creating false impressions by connecting disconnected events.and, as spotted confidence easily slips into arrogance. Guts has rightly called her on some of those. One difference to a forum RPG over a table group is that posting order matters. Scubacarrot posted first, so Guts has the book. If I had posted before him, Nerwen would have it and that would be a different role playing scenario. I am totally fine with players taking actions which close off options for other players. That leads to conflict (between characters, not players hopefully!). And conflict leads to character expression and growth.
  19. The journey out felt very brisk. Nerwen was swept along, almost totally consumed by her thoughts. What if Guts was right, that I seek more than simply the safe return of their friends? But still, I am Cala'quessir, and teaching is deep within. I know myself, as the Mithrandír prescribe. I have given up power before, I do not hold tightly to this world. I know that causes imbalance. But is wanting Namyrra's return trying to hold on too? Once again on a quest, he took the vocal part as she stood back. Nerwen watched Gut's rough and almost disrespectful dealing with the Dragonlord, then his tender gift to Sküld, gold which he was so loathe to give up for the dragon. Truely the man was a bundle of contradictions. Still, she thought he lacked harmony, balance, as if something was missing from him. Such thinking drew her back into herself. and what am I missing? When the book offers everything I ever wanted, what is it that I want? What must I beware a short cut to? To see Lenwë again? No, he is at peace, I still love him to much to disturb that. To see Harnram rebuilt? But that would deprive the Eoi the joy of their craftsmanship. To lift the burden of the red rage from my orcish blood-brothers? Ah... yes. That would be a noble goal, easily taken. Åsa's words echoed what she had been taught, she said gently. Thank you for speaking aloud the hope I carried. We should, indeed, go quickly to the oracle. Thank you again. Nerwen knew she was not the strongest, nor hardiest, and certainly not the most charismatic, unlike Guts who could smoothly charm when he wanted. But she rankled at having her words dismissed, her contribution to the group belittled. Speaking to Guts she said Let us go to the oracle. Perhaps she can help you quell the screams of memory and see the path clearly. Say now though, that you will abide by her words if she tells you for your own good to give up the book. I do so swear myself.
  20. Nerwen nods as Benji thanks her for her words. Though he was a money-hungry rogue also, he seemed to have more understanding about the world. Outside, the large form of the metasimian moved close, Nerwen paid attention to him for the first time this quest. He seemed quite different from the one she had revived in the battered throne-room of the palace in Dastan. Now armoured, muscled and hardened in visage, she thought he wore it well. My concern is returning our friends to us, nothing more, as to how we achieve that, I do not care much. I am wary about approaching the Ziegfrieds for precisely the reasons you give, they have shown their corruptability. They will not put the return of Namyrra and William first in their thinking. But if that is what the party decides, then so be it. Walking in the tunnel out, Nerwen responded to Guts' plan. No. Not good plan. Benji, forgive me, does not seem the kind of person able to read elvish well, it would expose yet another to the book and one that is, you make this a feature of your plan, one that is untrained. And you would threaten him with blades while having no clue as to what form possession might take. I say this not to make a case for myself, but to prevent you from further harming others. Looking at the Mage besides her, Nerwen said quietly Sküld said that the nôrns worship Helvetia, she of the cold embrace of death. They will know how to give Shaun peace.
  21. Ah yes. And with Nerwen just two XP from an advanced class, that does chafe a bit... Nerwen can handle being called a smartarse. Being mistrusted or called a liar are two things that are difficult though.
  22. We did save some loot for them. Nerwen would shrug that off, she knows she's often one of the smartest people in the room, and that others sometimes react badly to that. Of course she's a smartarse, all of her is smart, including her behind. As for attacking guts, Nerwen believes that doing so would prove she wants the power, not just the good of their companions if she is willing to attack another party member. And I know she's a level 14 cleric and he's a level 21 raider with a pair of WP:14 weapons. It'd be different if the winged circle granted immunity to ice though.
  23. Nerwen's accurate memory recalled the Oracle's words perfectly. I know full well where the vision came from, and the snare before me. I see it plainly. That was the purpose of the Oracle's words, to unmask the trap. You do me wrong to think that I seek anything more than the recovery of our companions. I know the price and that choice is mine to make, a choice you deny me. You will find nothing in this temple. If you will not hand over the book there is nothing left to do but return to the hall without them. Your greed and pride have won. Nerwen goes to the door out of the temple, waiting for the others.
  24. I know. But a) it's been over half a day and no one else (aside from Dreyrugr) has spoken. And b) sandy's made it clear that the only way to get Namyrra and William back is through the book, which is in elvish.
  25. Nerwen doesn't regret it either. She was proved right. And it reinforces her disdain for, well nearly everybody.
