  1. Hush rogue and ponder. Are you undead or not? If you are, if you indentify as such, if you even flaunt it at times, then understand that creations such as yourself have been used as tools by evil persons for destructive ends. You might argue the necromancers should be blamed, not their creations, but that is a subtle point, lost in the brevity of human life. Moreover, most undead do not exhibit choice. Their destructiveness is built into their making. Does a harmless spider plead mercy from a housewife with a broom when she judges it dangerous because poisonous spiders exist? Perhaps, but its cries will fall on deaf ears. Most importantly however, undead are an affront to the living. A reminder of mortality and a fate to be feared, that one's remains would be treated, would be used so. Gods and men rightly abominate such things, that is the nature of the world. You know all this, you cannot have missed it in your four centuries. Yet you still rail against it! You bicker with the cleric of the blind god when you know full well the teachings he follows proclaim you anathema. You whine despite the fact that he has held his hand from striking you this whole quest. You complain that he moved toward you in violence, and so you commit the same error as those you decry, you blame the tool, not the hand. You should pour your energy into fighting the Darkstar. It is that which is twisting loyalty. And that you moan over your place as a hero indicates you are no less immune than us. Should you be judged on your deeds? No doubt. All of us are. But note two things, anyone can be great in the past, even the poorest storyteller has slain giants in a single blow. Now is what counts. And what have you been doing this whole battle? Grubbing in the ruins lining your pockets with trinkets. Is that what you wish us to judge you on? And if you would be measured by your deeds, know that nothing can be more or less than its nature. Actions flow from what one is. What is your nature assassin? What is inside you? Is it twisted and bitter and selfish? Or are you better than that? Forgiving and generous and kind in speech? Act. And show us. With her words done, Nerwen returns to keeping the red inquisitor trapped in sleep. Sleep, Wither. IF successful THEN mace, Haroka, back trying for some fragility.
  2. thats fine with me. I think we've gone past the break point for the battle. And if Sorrow pulls off an assassination of Blaohoel, we're even better. Keep on them, they are nearly beaten!
  3. Nerwen watches as the red inquisitor is jolted awake by Guts' strike. And then can not focus to restore the sleep before it dives down quickly striking Nagure. With only brief thought a remedy is in her hand ready to use on the afflicted Yeti Barbarian. Guts' words cut across her though. She clenches her teeth briefly at his imperious tone then nods, prepared to follow his plan. I am sorry Helkaer, I will remedy you soon. Knowing that her bad luck will not affect reading the scroll, Nerwen tries again. As for you, Raider, don't waste my ether by continuing to wake the one I ensorcel. And you Assassin, stop jingling coin and get to assassinating! 1. Sleep, Wither 2.IF Wither is NOT asleep THEN Sleep, Wither ELSE Remedy Hlin Helkaer = Icy one in Elvish. Appropriate for Nagure the yeti.
  4. Nerwen raised her scroll to... ..the darkness... ...the burning and screams... ...the twisted shapes in the smoke and smell... ...the defenders of Harnram falling beneath the hands of the dead... SILENCE THEM! BIND THEM! ...lowered the scroll to see light rush back in as she faced her party. A string of symbols written in light circling Nagure's head. Nerwen gasped Amin Hiraetha! Turning to face Haroka and his minions again, Nerwen raised her scrolls IF Wither is awake THEN Scroll of Sleep, Wither IF Wither is asleep AND Haroka is NOT stunned THEN Scroll of Sealing, Haroka IF Wither is asleep AND Haroka is stunned THEN Scroll of Sealing, Blaohoel Sorry for the delay. National day holiday today
  5. Nerwen stands ready. IF Wither is awake THEN Scroll of Sleep, Wither IF Wither is asleep AND Haroka is NOT stunned THEN Scroll of Sealing, Haroka IF Wither is asleep AND Haroka is stunned THEN Mace, Blaohoel, front row You need your eyes checked, Holla. Clearly all of the inquisitors are, or were, female. And there is no use sealing anyone other than Haroka, none of the others use ether. I could put fishface to sleep, but I think it would be a waste of time, you would only wake her nest round anyway. Hopefully the conditionals should be easy enough to follow. Sorry Rumble! oh: edit IF Wither is asleep AND Haroka is stunned AND Blaohoel has been assassinated THEN heal party member who has lost most health (currently Mizuki)
  6. Because of timezones, I read the new post first thig, but generally don't get to post until I'm on the way to work. I was going to suggest I do exactly what you suggested Scuba! Nerwen begins singing an elvish lullaby, weaving the words of the scroll of sleep into the melody, directing the power of the music at the ungainly looking red inquisitor, Wither. Knowing she could act again, thanks to the Rito feather, she prepared to keep sleeping Wither if it did not work immediately or reading from the scroll of sealing, targetting Haroka if it did.
  7. Glad you liked it. When on mobile, I can't see all the member stuff in the sidebar, so sitting down now at the non-mobile site, I noticed my new title. I assume you're responsible for that CM, Thanks!
  8. Nerwen takes the vial of powder scooped from the church's floor and holds it up. A feather floats to the floor from the bag as she does. Hail Haroka. Here is Sonora. But you, no doubt knew that she is gone. And knew she was plotting against you. She withheld from you one of items of power used to break the tower. Why would she do that unless she thought you and you pets could be defeated? She paused' recalling the tomb mine under Ve'er We should not have let you walk out of that tomb, nor let you keep the darkstar. But this is the end now. Turning to the big booted inquisitor and shaking her hand toward her, making the shakles rattle, Nerwen said There will be no running away this time. I will give you the same offer I gave him. Go far from here are forswear the darkness. Live a life in the sun and die a peaceful death. Or fall with him here this day. He did not leave the dark and his reckoning has come. Turning back to the Gereral, Nerwen says quietly No doubt you will now boast that you are more powerful than when we last met, and that your lackeys make your victory inevitable, that we should simply bow now. But you are not the only one who has grown, not the only one with friends. Taking the Rito feather from the floor she exclaims in a loud voice, Cormamin lindua ele lle, Rito! Asca melloneamin! Vara tel'taurninin! Gurth gothrimlye! The light gathers around Nerwen with her words, seeming to form the outline of a Rito's wings before flaring out and fading. Nerwen stands ready to fight. OoCforRumble: Rito Feather (Consumable) - Grants the hastened- and blessed-effects for one battle upon use.
  9. Cronk's name is Cronk Evil Cronk has come to bonk Even though Cronk try real hard Still Cronk sometimes get rhymes wronk Cronk's name is Cronk Evil Cronk will thoroughly tonk Cronk will fight real hard But Cronk has never drunk no plonk Cronk's name is Cronk Evil Cronk will trample like a bronc Oh, Cronk doesn't like to boast But if needed Cronk's own trumpet Cronk can honk.
  10. Nerwen is stunned by the appearance of such an ancient creature. The destruction wrought by the beast rattles the senses as the tower falls. When the dust settles, Nerwen takes off her white cloak, folding it gently and placing it in her satchel. She takes out her new enchanted bracelet slipping it on her wrist. She then nods her readiness to search the ruined tower for the Dark General.
  11. Essence of Sorrow. I like it. Thanks Rumble! Does this tower make anyone else feel... Small? Hey, look at me, I'm a microfig! And so is everyone else! And easily recognisable too! But Sorrow is a girl? Or just slim?
  12. Yes. Let us go to the beach and use the amulets. Such an extended time in the presence of the Darkstar is beginning to affect us all. Especially you rogues.
  13. With Sonora's demise, the prison evaporated and Nerwen stepped free. Seeing The Rogue Sorrow bending, looking at her remains, Nerwen crouched beside. Drawing a glass vial from her satchel, she swept the dust into the recepticle and stoppered it before dropping it back in her bag. Looking over the loot piled by Mizuki's feet she said, I would like the bracelet please.
  14. Snarky snarky snark... I found this yesterday and thought of you, Helvetia Lane - No through road by ChromeKnight, on Flickr Plus reading this, I was reminded again of this.
  15. Before she could register, the priestess before her was sucked into dust at Sonora's command. With only the witch capable of hurting the party, her mace swung towards the pale figure seemingly of its own accord. Then in a blink she, like Guts and Nagure, was encased in a shimmering field of force, separating her from the battle. As she observes the battle, she sees that Sonora clearly does not have the amulet on her, there is nowhere for it to be hidden. This could be a problem, but in the bubble she has no method of communicating her observation. With no other options to hand, Nerwen rests in her bedroll to regain her spent ether because, let's face it, she's a safe there as anywhere else in this town.
  16. Hush rogue, do not feed the troll. You will only waste your breath. Let us defeat her first, then we can sift her weaselly whining words. Nerwen heals the priestess.
  17. Nerwen draws one of the pairs of shackles of war from her satchel. She turns them over in her hands pondering how to use them. Removing her winged circlet she recites the chant of binding whilst shackling one of her wrists, leaving the other open to capture anyone cowardly enough to flee.
  18. Frustrated by her ability to draw power for healing, Nerwen tries healing the priestess again.
  19. I see. Well perhaps Nagure will become if not expert, then proficient at avoiding magical traps. that's what passes as Nerwen's sense of humour...
  20. Nagure! No! Nerwen turned hearing Sorrow, Who are you speaking to, Sorrow? And what is an expy? Nerwen asked, before gathering her focus to heal the priestess again. Do I need to specify a row for healing? Does it make a difference? yes, I know Endgame is speaking OoC, but I also try to avoid OoC (and especially OoC only posts!) and happily poke people in the same direction. This is, I believe, your first QM with advanced classes (paladin, assassin, raider), and a number of new artefacts. I have no complaints so far and you're always gracious when stuff is pointed out. Which it think is a better thing than delaying stuff for triple checking to avoid minor errors. Hang in there! But maybe someone can find a pair of grand potions after the battle... ; )
  21. Nerwen turns to the priestess and begins healing.
  22. Are you trying to get Hlin killed? Look at him, he is weakened from that stag's hit, one more blow would finish him. There are seven of us and five of them, we have the advantage of numbers, they will not sneak in any unexpected hits if we pay attention. See the Dastan quest for Nerwen's feelings on party Enpecees!
  23. I just typed my wife's name into the Elvish name generator. It clearly uses Tolkien Elvish, even though Nerwen itself doesn't appear in the books. I've popped back there a couple of times to grab other names for Nerwen's relations, including using my own, which turns out to be Lenwë, one of the Teleri lords in the first age of middle earth.
  24. Nerwen stopped and stood still. Moving through the stages to calm her mind and attune herself to the world music, she touched first the slow rolling beat of the ground below. Then the bright sharp notes of her party members as they fought. Her reach extended to the jangling disharmonies of the undead and the malevolent blotches of silences of Sonora. Focussing on the brassy melody that was Hlin, Nerwen began chanting in time with the tune, slowly gaining volume as she drew power to heal Hlin.
  25. Thank you for the heal Guts. Nerwen heals Hlin.
