  1. 1) Fresh out of school. Played as mafia in both Def's witchbreed and Sandy's fairytale mafia. Last scum caught in the first, scum team win in the second. 2)Yes 3)since my two previous runs have been as scheming trickster scum, Loki. But I'm looking forward to getting some town play and working on my Forseti game, bring some justice and reconciliation.
  2. Nerwen leaves the oracle, joining the others outside and leaving Dreyrugr, Guts, Hybros and Namyrra, inside, still speaking with the oracle.
  3. Nerwen bowed her head in thanks to the oracle. She had spoken of the dark temple to no one else. Clearly she spoke for the dreamcatcher and Nerwen understood why others, particularly noticeably De'kra, were uncomfortable. Stepping back to make room for others, she saw others leaving already, their desire to get away from the numinous presence of Fabilia Sybilia clear.
  4. Is that a challenge? To draw Nerwen toward witch (which I have considered) or Paladin (not that there aren't enough of them anyway!). From my perspective, all the paths are still open, and there have been hints and moves toward each (except paladin) scattered throughout things Nerwen has said and thought. If I did go Druid though, it'd be quite different from Erdathcath(the_customizer)'s version of female Elven Druid. Atramor(call me pie) has shown witches rock, I'm seriously tempted...
  5. Nerwen genuflected toward the oracle and said Cormamin lindua ele lle. My heart sings seeing you. Last night I dreamed a dream. Of course, your mistress, being Goddess of dreams knows what it was a dream of. But I do not know what it meant. Now I am before you, I can simply ask, Nerwen waits for the oracle's response, but is ready to leave otherwise.
  6. You were being complimentary then. Thank you. And Sarick, it is nothing, I am here to look after the party's health. And you are welcome Master Dwinlas. Nerwen paused, there was a discord in the music of the world. Faint, distant, but unmistakable. On the wind floated a word, at the edge of hearing ...Arasmyth... A stifled gasp escaped Nerwen as if she had been punched.
  7. With conditional actions having been ruled game-legal, four actions in a turn means you can really go to town on you 'if this-then that' statements. TV Tropes lists them as arc words, though arguably they're actually just a catchphrase. And yes, I think it was Effie who spoke them first.
  8. You called me a name before. Gali. What does that name mean to you? Nerwen's head turned at the words. Seeing no speaker, she pondered what was said. And she recalled the words of her teacher, not all who wander are lost.
  9. Thank you for the Torch Staff Master Carvenhall. Walking toward the shrine, Nerwen sees De'kra move closer to her, looking up expectantly. His speeches to Guts revealed more about himself. Despite questing with him for what seemed like months now, Nerwen still did not feel like she knew the rogue well at all. But he seemed to like her and respect her words, so she spoke. Before the battle you asked me what to do. I answered. I accept that you did not follow my words, I am not so arrogant to think I am always right. You seemed to agree with me, then not stand with the rest of us. No doubt you had your own reasons for that. However, I feel let down. All that I warned of came to pass. Heroes fell in that battle, including Sarick. I do not pretend to see alternate times, to say that if you had stood with your party, your team, they would not have fallen. Perhaps, perhaps not. But this was one of the reasons I gave, that you should fight from the beginning; For your friends. And you did not. Nerwen sighed. You are of Heroica. Yes, the weapons you wield, though sharp, are instruments that do not solve every complaint and conflict. But until a sword is invented that divides soul and spirit, joints and marrow; to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart, until something comes that can change a man from the inside, then the crude lumps of metal, wood and gems we hold now must suffice. But to not use them is to forsake what little power you have to change the world for the better. Think hard before you forgo that power again. Her words spoken, she smiled at De'kra, conveying wordlessly that she was not angry with him. Then speaking to the Elf mage in the party she said, Master Dwinlas, would you like to use the Torch staff for the moment? It is better than the dagger you carry currently.
  10. The page has been updated with a photo. It is a mini scale polybag train.
  11. Nerwen sees the short rogue looking her way but turns her back on him. Instead she focuses on those hurt by the battle. Nerwen heals Cinna, Mizuki, Namyrra, Sarick, Thalion, William and herself, using 7 ether. She then drinks a tonic. Addressing Namyrra, she asks, May I have the torch. I believe I could make use of it. Also, if there are unclaimed tonics, I fear my healing abilities will continue to be much needed. Also, my health and ether tick up by one, you update level and power but not the others. Thanks!
  12. The swirling mass of bodies in combat was difficult to keep track of. Nerwen focussed on each hero briefly, making sure she wasn't missing someone who needed help. Pizarro was readying a fire bomb to throw at Boreal. Magellan Was readying a bomb to throw at Eurose. Nerwen couldn't make out what type it was. Cortes was readying a water bomb to throw at Nothus. Columbus was readying a lightening bomb to throw at Zephyroth. Hybros had what looked like a clock gear in one hand and a sharp banana in the other. Hybros faced Eurose, his arms drawn back ready to throw the weapons one after the other. Benji was focussed on Nothus, looking for an opening with his blade. Guts had the stopper of a grand potion, about to drink. Namyrra's hands were weaving a complex skein of darkness as she eyed off Boreal. Cinna was likewise preparing to fling Darkness at Boreal. De'kra entred the battle, aiming a strike at Nothus with his hand cannon. Sarick had one fist full of wind directed at Zephyroth. Sarick had the other fist full of Ice directed at Eurose. Nerwen was calling forth healing to help Erik, even while she took stock of the battle. Erik charged Nothus, sword held high. Mizuki stalked Nothus, dagger in hand. Dreyrugr had somehow found a barbell amongst the rioter's gear and was lifting it up and down. Thalion stood like a stupefied fish, overwhelmed by the battle. Alexander lay on the ground, knocked out. William lay on the ground, knocked out. Raven lay on the ground, knocked out. we're only waiting on Obelix? Again?
  13. Nerwen heals Erik. I will heal you Erik, then you can attack.
  14. Nerwen moves to the remaining battle. Actuely aware she is the only cleric in the party she looks to see who has suffered the most hurt. Nerwen heals Cinna.
  15. Thank you. I'm glad that I've been able to make my thoughts on this clear through my actions. Now I don't need to write them out.
  16. So, this issue came up in passing before as we were talking about clerics and fulfilling their job role to heal (as opposed to the rogue's job of raking in cash). Pheonix Essences and weaker party members... Now that there is a wide spread of hero levels in the hall, this is going to come up more often as we see parties of different levels., It'd be interesting to hear people's thoughts. Take a look at quest 44. The high end heroes are dealing damage in the triple figures, lower end ones a mere single digit. When a low level player gets knocked out, does it make sense to spend 50g (and an action) on reviving them if, to be blunt, they make no difference to the battle. The only reason I see is so that they gain a level and are therefore, next battle, slightly less ineffective. Is that alone worth the cost? Even someone like Harkenshire, who makes a solid, if unremarkable, contribution, pales in comparison to Guts' and Benji's slicing and dicing. his being KO'd doesn't jeapodize the battle. Should William compensate his reviver? Should he be just left down? or should someone else wear the cost of getting him back up?
  17. I also have phoenix essences, Ms Uq, and since you can use darkness to damage the attackers, perhaps I should revive our companion and you attack instead. If Namyrra changes her action Nerwen uses phoenix essence on Thalion. If not, Nerwen attacks Werehyena rioter, with staff, from front row.
  18. Nerwen steps across to attack the hobgoblin rioter from the front row.
  19. Nerwen nods and hefts her new staff, the emerald at its end glinting as she swings from the front row at the Lucustoid rioter.
  20. Nerwen spoke up again. Now that the wolfpack have been spotted, I doubt they will risk acting openly. We have only one choice before each of us. Fight or stand aside. I understand it is a hard choice. Consider this however. Without all of us standing as one, some heroes may fall. Looking at De'kra as she spoke, Great events begin today. The destiny of Eubric hangs in the balance. The side you choose today will stay with you. To the other heroes she said Chose now. Fight or stand aside. I chose to fight. For the future of Eubric.
  21. If the distance between Eubric and Suicide cliffs is as you say, that gives us a scale for the map above. Let's start with assumptions. *The boys walk at about 4km/h *The journey takes about 12 hours (assuming they have 2 hrs total breaks, and to make the maths easier) Using this distance as base. >The island is approx 114km x 123km at it's largest dimensions. ---> The area of the island thus has a likely upper bound of 14,000km2 >Eubric is approx 18km x 7.5 km at it's largest dimensions. ---> The area of the city thus has a likely upper bound of 67.5km2 ---> with a resonance population density Eubric gas about 1,000,000 people in it. >Loch Mess is about 7 km long. (Loch Ness, Scotland is about 36km long, about 2.7km wide) > Briclin is about 33km from Eubric, Brobric is about 27km from Eubric. Make of these numbers what you will... Here endeth the revised lesson.
  22. Nerwen speaks to the gathered heroes. We need to divide into four groups. Once De'kra reports back we will have more idea what we are facing. But there are two options. We can divide into four groups of approximately equal strength. Probably lead by Namrrya, Guts, Hybros and Benji. With a new hero on each. Or we divide into groups by experience, all the new heroes together, possibly facing weaker opponents, all the stronger heroes together to take on the hardest foes. Which do people think is better?
  23. Um... Putting on my hat of egregious professor of non-existent geography. If the distance between Eubric and Suicide cliffs is as you say, that gives us a scale for the map above. Let's start with assumptions. *The boys walk at about 4km/h *The journey takes about 4 hours (since they also need to make it back on the same day, allowing 8 hours total journey time. Using this distance as base. >The island is approx 38km x 41km at it's largest dimensions. ---> The area of the island thus has an upper bound of 1590km2 (about the size of the island of Senja in Norway) >Eubric is approx 6km x 2.6km at it's largest dimensions. ---> The area of the city thus has an upper bound of 15.6km2 ---> If Eubric is as densely populated as the densest European city (Athens, Greece) it would have a population of approx 85,000 people. ---> If Eubric is as densely populated as the densest city in the world (Mumbai, India) it would have a population of approx 460,000 people. (or about as many as Marseilles, France) >Loch Mess is about 2.3km long. (Loch Ness, Scotland is about 36km long, about 2.7km wide) > Briclin is about 11km from Eubric, Brobric is about 9km from Eubric (easily visible on a clear day, assuming no geography in the way) --> Mt Ulysses would only need to be as tall as the Eiffel tower to be able to see all of Uland from it's summit (except stuff behind mountains obviously) Make of these numbers what you will... Here endeth the lesson.
  24. It's hardly any worse than a magic compass in terms of plot-breakyness. But I am aware that what I wrote borders on impolite RP, dictating the actions of another, using one of their artifacts no less. Possibly Sandy will simply begin combat and we'll all be flat-footed and have to scramble into some sort of defensive line...
  25. At Gut's comments, Nerwen's keen elven eyes swept the rooftops. There were figures up there. She recognized, from her wanted posters, Violetta the cat-burglar, or at least, someone dressed as her. De'kra. the mob is driven by the words of the four. They are innocent, yes. But they cannot be allowed to kill the Bonepartes. The houses' retribution would not fall just on those who provoked the riot, or even those here in the square fighting, but all in the hovels. Women, children, blind, lame and addicts alike. This is a power play for control of Eubric. And much as we might not like the current order, it is the order we have and war in Eubric would be much worse. Perhaps it is a hopeless cause and the houses will fall anyway, nonetheless, we must do the the thing in front of us. We must stand between the mob and the Bonepartes and keep what peace we can salvage. Nerwen lifts De'kra, standing his slight frame on her shoulders so that he can get a good look at the combatants using his cloak of the elven spy.
