  1. Whilst waiting for the rest of th party to move over toward the air duct, Nerwen reads another chapter of her latest book. Ragnarök Now! the cover proclaimed. Nerwen smiled the preposterous nature of the plot, but was sad to read of the faithful pig Petunia' drastic suicide at her friend's death. Nerwen almost turned the page to begin the next chapter, but she forced the book back into her bag. Chapters had to be rationed. Control must be maintained. Otherwise she would end up like her tutor, who was surrounded by books in a tower, never leaving, always reading...
  2. Thank you for asking. When I wrote that I was annoyed and quite distracted. The 'you' in my sentence is a generic second person plural. (y'all for those that like it, or yous...). I was not pointing to anyone specific. Hervi has said that the fun has gone out of he game for him. Whether that's true or more game playing, I don't know. It would be a shame, though. I woke up to find the lynch had already happened, so you(2nd sing.) can imagine that I see a bandwagon. Especially as most over the votes referenced personal feeling (wah! He was rude to me! Wah!) or no reasoning at all. My difficultly is, I can see there are irregularities in Hervi's stories and he has been pressed on some. Some he has answered that he cannot explain without revealing people's confidences. Others he has ignored. He could be scum. but his accusers have not presented all the reasons they have either (specifically Dragmall). Again, there are things that should not be said in public lest they lead to lynching (or serial killing) a loyal einherjar with a night action. Perhaps pieces of this will come out tomorrow. Maybe people are right, Hervi's lynch will reveal things. Maybe he's an annoying townie and the scum are elsewhere. I don't know. Clearly, I had been communicating with Hervi since the whole play thing. I didn't pick anything significantly untoward. But this is my first time amongst such seasoned warriors and I did note, there is a lot of history between people. Both bad and good. If he is scum, I need evaluate how much I have hurt the town cause by what I've said to him. I guess that's part of my reluctance. I don't want to believe he is scum since it makes me a dupe.
  3. Epic Scuba! Just... Epic Even at such a distance, Nerwen could smell the vent. It was... Whoever lived down there would have to be... Whatever was making that smell must be... Nerwen had no words. She slipped her hand into her satchel, looking for a bit of cloth to mask her face. and made ready to leave
  4. 6 hours, 10 votes. You have your bandwagon, and your lynch. The dice are rolled. Idonot need to add my vote. ( have some spaces fortat last sentence. )
  5. Nerwen moves aside with Guts to spek softly. You have changed, Cam'wethin, you show more of yoursl, more of your feelings. Feelings you once pretended not to have. you clearly carry a heavy burden. Heavier than your laden coin purses. But do those purses help or just add to the weight? The Guts I knew, did what it took. The dragon can help us I believe. You have a history with dragons and hate them. You also have history with elves and dislike the arrogant. Yet I am not all elves. This dragon is not all dragons. And the gold in your pockets is not the only gold in the world. Already you are rich enough to by nearly anything for sale in Eubric. And that would still be true even if you were to give the dragon a significant token. For what is a large amount of gold but a way of keeping score? And you are a skilled warrior as your own score shows. You need not fear that you cannot get more gold. And if the dragon does not respond to a generous gift from you, I will stand with you to show it your rash threats were not without substance. After speaking Nerwen mimed to De'kra the action of putting a hood on. His eyes flickered, he was wearing a hood already. Nerwen looked at him, made the hood move and turned in an exaggerated way to look at the dragon. With this De'kra seemed to understand and began finding something in the folds of his cloak.
  6. Perhaps you feel like talking to us because you know Shaun?
  7. Don't stare at the pictures! You'll go blind! There is much to analyse and dissect. I will speak more in a couple of hours
  8. Nerwen asks Sküld quietly. Does Shaun look like any of these people?
  9. Good to hear from you! Seriously. Why do I think you've been coached? I don't know you well enough to spot your usual tone, so the evidence isn't direct in that sense. However in post #117 your font changes. Not a big thing in and of itself, but it could indicate a cut and paste job. And if it is cut and paste, it could be copied from somewhere else. And if copied from somewhere else could be written by someone else or with their input. I understand that's a lot of ifs. And it seems a small thing. But people have been lynched for less. As to Bergulf/Hervi. I am told that have history in previous incarnations. This may not be true and Hervi has now flat out denied coaching Bergulf. As to my dealings with Hervi, you'll note I came forward as the Demeter mentioned in his play. Not that that means we trust each other completely but that, yes I did focus on them for a time and I'm not inclined to vote for either of them at this time. I'm sorry you feel attacked. Perhaps it's a consequence of having to deal with a lot of different pokes all at once. Life is busy, sure. But this afterlife is voluntary, join in!
  10. Forgive bad grammar. I missed a period. Coaching is not, in and of itself scummy. Hiding it is. It is disappointing...
  11. Hervi coached Bergulf. At least, others have suggested it and neither have denied it, which is an admission of sorts. Coaching is not, in and of itself, scummy hiding it is. It is disappointing that neither could be upfront enough to even shrug it of with a, 'I helped him sure, just like that time in (insert cryptic reference here)'. The question that hasn't been asked yet is, if Gerrid has been coached, who by? Fess up someone, laugh it off, step boldly into the light. Show you are less paranoid than Hervi and Bergulf. Until that happens, I'm putting my marker on him to turn the screw a notch. vote:Gerrid(captain Genaro)
  12. If I recall correctly, Didn't Bergulf originally get in trouble for not parsing english persons correctly? Hervi's a big boy; he can defend himself. I was defending myself, coming forward with an explination of my PM, to forstall any turning on me. I responded to Hervi via PM after reading the play and spotting my words coming from Demeter's mouth, and then posted in public when he persisted in chasing Dragmall over what I thought was a misunderstanding, based on the assumption that two investigators (including one with a convoluted action) meant there was a third faction, a cult. As for my thought on why artemis' power is the way it is, it is a thought. I am not nearly as experienced at these types of things as others. So if you say it doesn't make sense game-wise, then I'll listen. I was only thinking out loud, trying to understand for myself.
  13. Nerwen drinks a grand tonic and gives a grand tonic to Sküld. Let us go right and find out more the muttering
  14. I am Demeter. I am not an investigator. I never claimed to be. I used an unfortunate turn of phrase which was misunderstood. Like Hervi, I thought (player known as Atermis) was seeming more towny today, given what they said. I approached them and used an idiom, basicly suggesting 'I think you're town' I did not mean to set off paranoid city about there being another faction. A thought which seems to have rightly fallen by the wayside. Welcome to the new player. Yeesh. I knew school was fraught, but there's just so much damn baggage and history around with you guys... Anyway. Yes, I understand why Hervi is being cagey with Atermis' identity Yes, I know who Atermis is, though I did not know at that time s/he was an investigator of any sort. My thought regarding the complexity of Atermis' power is that it helps the town achieve results. Perhaps it does not matter if Atermis is blocked, but the action only fails if one of the two targets is blocked. Unfortunatly, it now looks like the case against Dragmall has devolved into 'he said vs he said' If there isn't a second investigator, it is less likely there is a cult (other than damned Loki worshipers). If there isn't a cult, the suggestion that someone is 'neutral', regardless of the circumstances of the claim, is less troubling. Especially given that such a claim borders on discussing game tactics and roles outside threads or PMs, something forbidden by the rules. Ultimately, even if Dragmall is neutral (or something else) where it was claimed makes the claim inadmissable as evidence. As for who is scum then, I'm still reading over the noisiness.
  15. Why would someone claim to be neutral? I can't see it buying anything other than suspicion. Which it has. So. Is Hades standing by his claim? Is he going to make it public before Hervi reveals it? Or had Steinvoir got the wrong end of something? Is this perhaps why he was killed off?
  16. Yes, I realised that a little after I posted when I saw I was also missing it from my sig, when I was sure I'd added it. Then got distracted by actually playing the game I didn't come back and clarify.
  17. So your suspicion was that all three were scum? That's a bit farfetched. I'm looking forward to more of your reasoning and stuff you find out. Mind you don't fall into the common trap of making a fluffy half accusation of a loud player and then drop it without saying anything. We defeat the lokists by working together, not by dividing into mutually distrusting cliques. If you've got stuff, share it. But equally if you've looked and got nothing, share that too. Like my tutor always said show your working
  18. Can I ask everyone to please put their character name in their signature? I know most have, so it's a little distracting to have to go back to the top of the thread to see who's who of those that haven't
  19. Boats? No. I'm on a horse. And I have that thing you wanted... Ehem. I'd like to apologise for my less than full engagement on day one. Meanwhile, from what I remember of yesterday, the first finger that Jormund pointed was indeed Carl's way. The question is, is that just appearing to be helpful or setting up an alibi for Carl if Jormund died later. I did not know Jormund well in the lives he lived before Valhalla, how is he likely to have acted?
  20. Thank you for the incense Namyrra. Nerwen turned the cylinder over and over in her hands pondering the direness of a situation where one of these would be needed.
  21. Nerwen looked around, seeing what each hero was doing Battle order: Left Namyrra takes smeling salts Namyrra Tomb widow(left) Ice spell back row Cinna protecting Sküld(left) Guts takes smelling salts Guts bright widow(left) attack front row Hybros great big spider(left) throw bladerang back row Hybros glow widow(left) attack front row De'kra white widow(left) attack back row William gloom widow(left) attack back row Maybe take the right flank instead? attack the gloom widow over there. Mizuki Murkwood mother(right) throw shuriken back row Mizuki white widow(right) attack front row currently untargeted bright, gloom and tomb widows The battle seemed to be resolving itself well, but the right flank was a little weak, there were only four heroes that had moved over that way. Nerwen saw De'kra trembling and huddling toward the back. What is it, De'kra? Are you afraid of spiders?
  22. Nerwen saw the spiders threatening both sides of the group. She stepped forward, staff raised. Alexander, Raven, Thalion; with me to the left. Take an itsy-bitsy spider each. De'kra, Sir Daggerfall; try bigger targets, leave the small ones for newer heroes. Sküld, stay close to Namyrra. Stay away from the spiders! Nerwen attacks the gloom widow with her emerald imbued staff from the front row. Does cleric's special guard have an effect if another hero triggers a special that effects all heroes? eg. if Mizuki triggers tapestry of dreams, does Nerwen get a 50/50 chance of not being asleep?
  23. Distracted by a small urchin who insisted on bringing her presents, claiming they were for her 'birthday', Nerwen missed most of the conversation with the Nôrnkind. Nonetheless, she overheard enough to understand Sküld's plight a little better. Seeing that Åsa was still speaking to the others, Nerwen stepped forward. Stars shine on our meeting Åsa Nifelheimr. I am Nerwen Calmcacil. I am saddened to hear of your plight, I know what it is to be a stranger in a strange land. I pray fate smiles on you and you find what you seek. I think I understand Sküld's mother's concern, We will look after her. I do wonder, is there anything we might do for you, a fellow hero? Nerwen waited for Åsa's answer, but prepared to follow Sküld to Shaun's house. Meanwhile, the urchin slipped another 'gift' into Nerwen's hand. Nerwen frowned. She added up the days and surprisingly it was the anniversary of her birth, but how did the little one know that? Perhaps she'd been sent by the Oracle. Many are the mysteries of the workings of the gods... Yes, it was my birthday on Saturday, then a public holiday today, Monday. So I've had a very full weekend, including a box-like present with that special rattle from my daughter, Yay!
  24. Nerwen follows along, listening to all the questions put to the strange tan-coloured girl. As she passes a trader's stall she absentmindedly picks up a new book, a new locked-room mystery murder, her secret indulgence. Flipping the vendor a copper she tucks it into her satchel. But not before noting it's title. Something about the old northern Gods and the end of the world. Northern gods... Nerwen's mind wandered, dipping back to the year she spent in the snowbound wastes north of Duplova. Nôrns... for some reason the word weavers jumped to mind. Sküld's dress certainly looked home made. Perhaps the fabric was also. Nerwen shook her head to clear it. Her glance settled on De'kra padding softly along off to the side. Destiny; Purpose; path; fate... It all seemed to swirl around, tangling around the events in this slum. The only way to untangle it was methodically, slowly. Starting at one end and keeping hold of that. Where there was one end there must be another. There could be no such thing as a piece of yarn with only one end...
