Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two

Fair enough. Obviously I wasn't expecting you'd read pandora's post when you wrote yours, that was more pointing out that she had taken the discussion on numbers and added a new possibility, which you hadn't considered (not that you'd've been expected to, it is an unlikely scenario after all.- 175 replies

I was waiting for Khorne's input before loot. In character, it'd make sense for him to forgo reward, but I wasn't just going to stiff another player out of phat lootz. There is still some justification for Eric getting loot, so Khorne can still change his mind. Nerwen listened to Eric's words. They were resigned, almost melancholic. She lifted the sword and swung it. The barbarian in her rejoiced at such a strong and effective weapon. I will hold this for the moment. Guts, do you want any of these bombs or are they mere firecrackers to you? As for the symbol, old partners of Reno? That would make sense. We shall inform Hestia. to clarify, Nerwen will keep conspirator and the bombs, if Guts asks for any of them (or Eric really) she will hand them over. -

You know, all this is true. But we're not dumb players, we can all count past five (even Peanuts) we can even see the possibilities outlined by Pandy that Danny wasn't originally scum, but both recruited and killed in the same night. Given this, I'm not quite sure how helpful your analysis is. Are you simply trying to look helpful without actually contributing? Speculating on scum numbers is such a dead end of a conversation it ends up as a ping. Now I could have the wrong end of the stick here, feel free to come back to us about it.- 175 replies

Render time? you just need a faster computer. But then, faster computer costs money, which means less LEGO.

Heroica RPG - Quest #58: Brothers-in-Arms
Chromeknight replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nerwen looks over to Eric. The blood ritual had healed her hurts but not quietened the forboding sense of things moving beyond her control. Speaking to the Nord while Guts inspected the corspe of Reno, she said quietly. You turned your back on me. Others have done that before from fear or reverence, but I expected neither of you. Whatever Reno was to you before, he had clearly made a deal with something that gave him that eye. Can you say what the price he paid was, and whether it meant good or ill for the city? Nerwen held up her hand No matter, that is beside the point. The question is, what shall I do with you? A man of the north who wraps himself in pride and ferocity like a fur. Turning from battle, would your old companions given you a share of the spoils after? What have you to say? -

Nerwen nodded sadly. Eric's words cooled her battle-lust Your blade is your own for-edan. You may chose to employ it or not. And you, Guts, hush. We will sort this out later, after we have finished. Calling names is of no use. Let us end this, so that we may begin rebuilding the damage we have caused. Sure, I chimed in. I'll read back over after posting this, but I don't remember Li'lZeph directing anything at Cec before I spoke, and I think I spoke before Zeph's clarification. So, I thought that Cecile's difference was a matter of difference in team rather than variation in wording from the host. I was happy to drop it when shown otherwise. Why push that way at all? Clearly others were on Zeph's case at the time, I wanted to increase the amount of discussion. There was no intent to deflect or otherwise protect Zeph in some way. I can understand how it seems that way though. As for who's pinging now, BoyWonder has already been poked, and I noticed he dropped a very vague vote on Trumpet at number 3. Middle of the pack voting. I know someone has to vote there, that's how these things work. But he could be worthy of more attention tomorrow. Arrgh... the scum don't vote for scum (unless the target is bussable) observation isn't valid here, and it's normally such a powerful tool at the town's disposal. This isn't the simplest game for my first run at town. :frown:- 249 replies

Heroica RPG - Quest #58: Brothers-in-Arms
Chromeknight replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
The vision overwhelmed Nerwen again. Same as the last time, just as she lifted her staff to strike Reno. ... the dark shadow... moving in the deeps... Clearly Lord Neron was sending her a message of some kind. And preventing her from fighting. But the blood sang. The crumpled guardsmen on the floor. Reno's laughter, wheezy after Guts' vicious assault. Hestia's footstep as she draws back from Reno's counterattack. She ached to deliver a solid blow. Just one. She rounded on the new guardsman, Let us dance. Hestia heals herself Hestia attacks Magellan from the back row with the mourning star Nerwen attacks Magellan from the front row with her magical staff Nemo attacks Reno from the front row with the Ship in a bottle Battle order when both Scubacarrot and Khorne have weighed in. This will likely be the last round. If either of the raiders roll a shield (on any of their four lucky turns) Reno goes down. And Magellan is unlikely to last much longer than that given how quickly the others dropped. -

I am town. I've heard the objection from the opposing counsel, so I withdraw the question, Your Honour. Apparently they're now spelling flail as OMFGUS. Perhaps our Li'l Boy Scout ought engage his brain rather than his guts. 'Cause I gotta ask you dude, why did you need to emphasise your lie-detector statement? Why not just state it and let it go? vote:Li'l Scouty Lets have an answer from the head rather than the tail this time.- 249 replies

Think of it as Arthur the action hero and Alrxis as the damsel he saves. As in Speed etc. Or perhaps it should be the other way around, Arthur the damsel?

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day One
Chromeknight replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Hey, no worries. I agree that we should be able to trust the mayor (and if we can't, then burn him) I guess I was making two points that may have not been expressed clearly. 1. This early in the game 'appears townie' is very subjective. Since the scum will not have had to lie (much) yet, one person's solid gold townie is another's top suspect. 'Appears townie' is so flexible a category as to be nearly worthless. My comment is, why bother setting it as a criteria if it's that subjective. 2. (And I realise this is in counterpoint to the above). If 'appears townie' is actually a useful category and people choose the mayor on that score, and broadcast that's how they made their choice then the mayor's sash does become a big fat target, since it says "here's a guy a whole bunch of other guys trust!" My comment is, that's giving information to the scums for free. Oh and Boing!- 249 replies

Now, that's just twisting my words. I didn't say I wanted, someone untrustworthy. I said that if it turns out mayor#1 ain't trustworthy, then ...meh. He (or she) can be replaced. Easily. A point you reinforce above.- 249 replies

So, if they were ever in a position to choose between a town and a scum, and it came out they'd saved the scum, that'd be prima facie evidence for lynching them... Knowing that, they'd likely bus the scum who was dumb enough to have votes on them anyway. So my point stands. What difference will it really make, the alignment of the first mayor? Unless its a game winning move, which ain't gonna happen day one.- 249 replies

Boing! Well this is fun. Except for exploding megablocks. Is it too early to be reading roles out of attitudes to being mayor? Anyway. Lil' Trumpetking, why does the mayor have to be appearing townie on day one? It's not like the office comes with a bulletproof sash. If anything it gives more information away than ought be. Treat mayor voting as a test-lynch. Day one its best to pick someone random, then there's stuff to analyze in the next vote.- 249 replies

I once used Klingon to render some orcish when Nerwen was first in the hall. But; too much work. As for Tolkien, yes, orc language is just corrupted forms of others' languages, much as the (Tolkien) orcs are corrupted elves.

I hadn't considered the 'immune to effects'. Scratch another strategy. I had thought that a Prophet required a gem for their sheild ability. I've reread it, it's optional, and since I have no amethyst loose, you're probably right, it's not worth the effort. As for Eric not attacking Reno, roleplaying. I know it screws with the battle and harms the party, but I'll argue that decision in character, Nerwen to Eric, rather than use the Party Leader role to act counter to how Khorne has played his character so far. The raider is right my Lady, this gem does not add to your power. Let us focus on Reno. Nerwen attacks Reno from the back row with her Magical staff Hestia attacks Reno, twice from the front row with the mourning star Battle Order Eric suggested - attacks Cortez; Godricsleif Eric suggested - attacks Cortez; Godricsleif Guts attacks Pizarro; Lifestealer Guts attacks Pizarro; Lifestealer Guts attacks Pizarro; Lifestealer >Nerwen attacks Reno; magical staff Nemo attacks Reno; Ship in a Bottle Hestia attacks Reno; mourning star Hestia attacks Reno; mourning star If Guts goes after Eric, there's no concern that Eric will not have a valid target. And Guts doesn't need conditional actions since if his target is dead it switches to the next in order, ie Pizarro > Cortez > Reno. Hestia is aiming at Reno since it's unlikely that after five lucky attacks either of the guards will be standing. -

What effect would sealing have on Reno? Sealed- the target is unable to cast spells or use healing abilities for the next three rounds or until the effect is remedied. I assume it's aimed at blocking ether use (which Reno doesn't have), but I thought I'd check. Keep holding those guards off boys. Make sure you keep both of them occupied. Nerwen hands the Ruby to Hesita Nemo attacks Reno from the front row using the Ship in a Bottle Hestia takes the Ruby from Nerwen Hestia casts a Fire spell at Reno from the back row Battle Order Guts attacks Pizarro; Lifestealer Guts attacks IF Pizarro alive THEN Pizarro, ELSE Cortez; Lifestealer Guts attacks IF Pizarro alive THEN Pizarro, ELSE Cortez; Lifestealer Eric suggested - attacks IF Pizarro alive THEN Pizarro, ELSE Cortez; Godricsleif Eric suggested - attacks IF Cortez alive THEN Cortez ELSE No attack; Godricsleif Nemo attacks Reno; Ship in a Bottle >Nerwen gives the Ruby to Hesita >Hestia takes the Ruby to Nerwen >Hestia spell at Reno; Fire Khorne, if you'd rather I didn't suggest actions for Eric in the battle order, say so and I'll leave them off. I know it gets tricky with different timezones and so on, and I don't want to make you feel like you're just rubber-stamping what has been put down already, but that you get to make your own calls. Also, for this round I've suggested it so if there are no guards left (which is possible) Eric won't attack Reno. Also, I didn't suggest healing since Eric's got roughly a 6% chance of taking damage, and Nerwen's shield is predicated on a hurt party anyway. Feel free to potion up or ask for healing though. Hestia can heal you if you ask.
