Heroica RPG - Quest #65: Breaking Down the Door
Chromeknight replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Knowing that it was rude to pick up books without asking, Nerwen points to THE GREAT EVOKATION by Stovid A. Dackman and asked Is it this one maybe? There is another brown bound book, but not on the same shelf, it's not a thick book and its the only one proximate to large books coloured orange, black and dark grey. -

Nerwen spoke quietly to the widow's Elven companion. Teresa is it? Stars shine on our meeting. My name is Nerwen. Have you visited here often? Is there perhaps something you recall seeing that will help substantiate her claim? Speaking to Cynthia, she asked, Is that a djinn's lamp on your mantle? Perhaps the one within could assist? -

Nerwen wandered the rooms with her party, extending her senses, looking for the way through. With a start she realised they were standing in a romm the had been in before. Then she recalled Greely's words ...you'll have to go through each room at least once... Some rooms, like the one they were in would have to be traversed more than once. Feeling happier about finding a solution, she paused to examine the chest in the room. -

Nerwen recalled the map that Greely had shown the earlier. Shall we begin at the beginning with the widow in room 201? Master Greely said she owed 3600 gold. -

Nerwen waited for others to speak. Since I have the least number of weapons, I am happy to hold on to it for the moment. As for you gentlemen, I am glad we could be of assistance. Though perhaps you ought take up a job more to do with people than machines. Shall we go upstairs and begin sorting out the tennants? -

Fair enough. Edited.

Meh, it's hard to tell. The presenters were characters, rather than figs credited as playing the characters, and at least half the awards were given to characters rather than players playing those characters. But given how many times the the fourth wall is abused around her, I figured it didn't matter. Hey, even the latest OotS makes a fourth wall joke.

Nerwen recalled the two pipe fitters selling mushrooms in the markets a couple of months ago. Clearly peddling psychodelics was not a steady job. Greetings. I believe pipe E will fit nicely in the lower left corner. Nerwen had her hands full with that pipe, so could not pick up the other two which belonged on the right. -

Listening to Dyric's words, Nerwen said. I have also led parties. I know it is not an easy job. You will get better at it as you listen to your fellow party members and make use of their strengths. Know that you have the support of everyone here. Dyric, would you like the banana? Then I will take the carrot and milk. -

Nerwen potters about the kitchen cheerfully, stacking dishes used in the cooking away after the boys had washed up. Wiping down surfaces and putting unused ingredients out on a bench, ready to select from. Perhaps Xander ought have the first pick, since it was his idea to use the bombs to cook the meats and chill the produce. Nerwen noticed Dyric slumped in a corner, clearly exhausted, although the cooking had not been that draining. He was looking to Cronk, so Nerwen left it for the Orc paladin to speak to him first. -

Nerwen sees Dyric speaking silently, as if praying. Perhaps to the gods of cookery? Moving about the kitchen, she nudges him. Tell us what you will do, Dyric. Will you help carve the meat, you boys have expertly skewered? Perhaps Sash has dropped some coins in his pantry as he has been working, you could check. Or if you are standing out of the way, say so. And say what order we should do things in too! -

Oh dear, Sash. I did not mean to crisp your curtains as well. I worry that this heat might spoil the milk. Perhaps I ought cool things down a little. Nerwen throws an ice bomb If you want to autorun after hearing form everyone else, Nerwen throws a firebomb to finish the battlecooking next round. Also, you might want to remove the bomb I used from my inventory! -

Dyric, I have only suggested the order we battle... er.. cook in. It is your call as party leader to make a final call on that. -

That is true, Cronk. The Mountain Goat is difficult to cook since it resists heat. But it is not a problem. The cow will knock itself out on your shield this turn after being toasted by a firebomb. Then the goat can batter away at your shield in the two remaining goes Sash has given us. Even if Dyric does nothing but pick up coins, we still can serve goat. Look at this stovetop! It is a wonder you can cook anything on this. Let me get the fire going hotter! Nerwen uses a firebomb Suggested battle order Xander attacks Silver Carp Cronk seals Mountain Goat Nerwen throws fire bomb Dyric attacks Mountain Goat Free Hits Feral Hen hits Xander Mad Cow hits Cronk Cronk counterstrikes Mad Cow -
That is one massive figbarf! And some very creative combinations of torsos/legs/headgears.

I am not certain the chicken goes down this round. Since it flies, the bomb will do its usual amount of damage, only 5 of 10 points. Perhaps I am wrong on this score? Fear not Sash, I have a firebomb here which will do the same job. -

That is a good idea Xander. So, you the three of you will take an animal each, leaving one for Cronk to counterstrike. I can sort the others. Keep using your weapon Dyric, and leave Cronk at the top of the battle order since the pig is gone now. Nerwen rummages in her satchel for her bombs. Pulling out some Ice and Fire bombs, she waits for the others to each claim an animal. -

Readying her mace, Nerwen pushed the shackles of war back into her satchel, not wanting them to fall out and get lost. If her party was going to cook quickly there was no time to put them on. Speaking to the cyclops she said I'm sorry, I did not catch your name earlier. What might we call you? -

Chromeknight replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nerwen laughed lightly I apologise, friend Cronk, for speaking over the top of you. Also Dyric, one of us needs to take a hit from the carp this round unless you assassinate an animal first. Since you can attack from the back row at full strength, you are better placed to withstand the blow. You should be third in the battle order, going after Cronk. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #65: Breaking Down the Door
Chromeknight replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in The Heroica Archive
Cronk suggested earlier that room 206 was likely the next easiest. Cronk will counterstrike the Goat then when it is dead, the carp Since we are not chasing the chicken, Cronk will need to go second in the battle order. Whomever is first takes the hit from the chicken. Xander, you take the cow, even though you can't take it in one turn, we need the beef. That leaves the pig for Cronk, he can chip away at the side until Xander can help Meanwhile Dyric and I can start on the other ingredients The sugar can spoil, as Cronk said, if someone lucky takes it out of the pantry it is less likely to spoil. And we should do it first so we have time to change plans if our luck is rotten. So, Dyric, you take the sugar this turn. I will take the corn as its special is the most straightforward, and, as a Shaman, having damage on the party isn't such bad thing if I do miss. We will pick up the other ingredients, apple, carrot and mushrooms as we see how things go. That said, Nerwen draws her mourning star and proceeds to pop the basket of corn from the front row.
