Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
The Jersey Brick Guy replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the idea. I googled some ideas and ran across some plans on the CUUSOO website. I am building the first floor bar area now, than will start into the other 2 floors. The guy who made this also has some killer ideas for the Market Street building, so I may use that also for that build. I have been left substituting different colors though as all the called for pieces do not exist in the colors he's said. So the base of my bar is going to be Dark Green instead of Dark Blue. Overall I think it will pop better with the tan floors and dark blue walls. I am at a impasse right now while I wait for at least a good chunk of the pieces come in. I don't want to build the entire thing and than have to take it apart. I tell you what though, I am starting to think about what modular buildings I want to build next. I'd go with the Fire Brigade, it's been out longer and is due to be retired sooner rather than later. Don't make the mistake of saying you will buy it later. The prices on retired modulars are 3-4 times what they were new. Also welcome to the Modular craze! I have to admit, your work is some of my favorite that I have seen. So many great ideas with your stuff, and how you have modularized some of the other buildings is really awesome. to you! With that being said, (and now that I am already $100.00 into my Cafe Corner Interior), I am going to be going a slightly different route. I am hopping it comes off nicely though. Could you post a better picture of your bar area though. So many great little builds there. Thank you! -

My Green Grocer is complete! I absolutely love it!!!! It's just amazing! Question for everyone, what have you done with the first floor of the cafe corner? I have been sizing up the interior and before I push forward, I was hoping for some ideas with what people have done with their coffee bars. Thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Anything! -

The hot dog stand I am sure is going to look nice on a street corner of someone's town. -
Town layout - Your feedback welcome!
The Jersey Brick Guy replied to SwissBrick's topic in LEGO Town
I love this new design. It's my new favorite! Whats down the street to the right of the town hall? I have been thinking of making blocks like what you have, but I was going to use 4x4 baseplates roads per block. I am not sure if that will come off to big or not. Keep posting the pictures!- 78 replies

The town hall is an awesome set for sure. It really does tower over everything else in the town. I can't wait to see what you do with the old town hall! -

In the Town Hall they did have outlines for the pieces, I haven't gotten the cinema yet, so I can not speak for that one. -
Modular Building 10243 Parisian Restaurant (2014 Modular Building)
The Jersey Brick Guy replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Town
I have been thinking a lot about the sidewalks, and I was thinking of possibly just extending the side walks out even more. Think the 7 tiles that comes with them now + 7 more, 14 tiles away from the street, but this will allow for parking spots, flower plots, bus stops and the like.- 198 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I've had the issue of identifying the color of the pieces with the physical directions, looking at them on my mac and also on my PC. I have also had the issue of using the wrong color to find out that it was my fault and that a piece was not missing. All these new colors tend to run on each other. -

Winter Village 10235 Winter Village Market
The Jersey Brick Guy replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Town
Thank you for saying this! When I saw the pictures last night, I have to admit that after my sheer joy of another awesome Winter Village set, I said to myself, "another damn lightpost design." While they have all been neat, I have to echo the call for a consistent lamp post. I think it's safe to assume that a majority of the people who get these sets, display them next to each other. -

A heads up to everyone, with the news of the new 1 x 8 x 2 Dark Blue Arches, the prices seem to have dropped. I was able to just get mine for $6.50 each on Bricklink. The store I got them from has over 200 of them in stock. At those prices, who knows how long they are going to last. Happy hunting! -

Another question, as I honestly can't tell the difference. On Step 18, the Light Bluish Gray Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Headlight that's connected to another Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Headlight. Is that one Reddish Brown? -

Thank's for the response. I thought they were black, but wanted to be sure. My eyes were not having it at 12:00am, and for some reason the colors tend to apprear similar on both my Macbook Pro and iPad2. As far as the Town Hall goes, you gotta get it. It's a wonderful build, and like others have said, it really stands above all the other modulars in town. I was able to get mine for $170.00 on Amazon this past January/February. So it does go on sale, you just need to be patient about it. -
Hi all, I figured that instead of hijacking everyone's threads with similar questions about modulars, to just create one thread where people can ask questions and the like. This way we are not junking up specific topics with questions about multiple modulars. I look forward to the discussion with everyone! ------------------------- :-: For Reference :-: We have had the following: Cafe Corner (CC) Market Street (MS) Green Grocer (GG) Fire Brigade (FB) Grand Emporium (GE) Pet Shop (PS) Town Hall (TH) Palace Cinema (PC) Parisian Restaurant (PR) Detectives Office (DO) Brick Bank (BB) Assembly Square (AS) Downtown Diner (DD) Corner Garage (CG) Bookshop (BS) Police Station (PS) Boutique Hotel (BH) Jazz Club (JC) Natural History Museum (NHM) The unique business's that have come out of those modulars are: Apartment (MS) Apartment (GG) Apartment (PR) Apartment (DO) Apartment (AS) Apartment (CG) Apartment (PS) Art Gallery (BH) Art Studio (PR) Bakery (MS) Bakery (AS) Bank (BB) Barbershop (DO) Book Store (BS) Cafe (CC) Cafe (AS) Dance Studio (AS) Dentist (AS) Department Store (GE) Detectives Office (DO) Diner (DD) Doughnut Shop (PS) Fire House (FB) Flower Shop (AS) Garage (CG) Gas Station (CG) Grocery Store (GG) Gym (DD) Hotel (CC) Hotel (BH) Jazz Club (JC) Laundromat (BB) Movie Theater (PC) Music Store (AS) Natural History Museum (NHM) Pet Store (PS) Photo Studio (AS) Pizzeria (JC) Police Station (PS) Pool Hall (DO) Recording Studio (DD) Restaurant (PR) Tailors Workshop (JC) Town Hall (TH) Town House (PS) Town House (BS) Veterinarian (CG)
