  1. Now this is a truck I'd be thrilled to have help me out on the highway. Brilliant job!
  2. When I saw the title, I thought you'd actually built a hoverboard from Back to the Future! First thing I was ready to ask: how did you get it to hover? Second thing: where did you get the pink panels?
  3. Does one motor drive the hitch lift and another drive the shaft?
  4. Nice job Grum! Those PF wires can be tough to wrangle. For me, though, it's pneumatic tubing - it never behaves as shown in the instructions! Also, we need another Volvo set so we can have more of those green engine blocks.
  5. I know. But the official set itself will still be yellow! Plus, it's not unheard of for spider cranes to be yellow, either. Oh, and lo and behold, the outrigger racks on this one are yellow too! Hint hint, TLG...
  6. You want to make something yellow red and I want to make something red yellow. Takes all kinds.
  7. Think the set I'm most interested in is the spider crane. Arocs gear racks in yellow? Still excited. Plus, who doesn't want to make 42061 into a JCB?
  8. Well, you used JCB batteries in a Volvo loader, Grum! What did you expect?
  9. All good points, though there have been four A-model forest machines (8443, 8049, 42080 and 42094) and three fire trucks (8280, 8289 and 42068). May I suggest Scrapers as well, since we haven't seen any of those outside of B-models, and only two at that.
  10. While it would be great to have a large selection of sets from which to pick and choose, TLG needs to be careful not to overstock the shelves. That was a major problem just recently.
  11. I'd definitely recommend smaller sets to start out with. If you really get on with building in Technic you'll jump to larger sets in no time. Try 42071 Dozer Compactor or 42084 Hook Loader, as both are heavy machinery and entry-level builds that will get you motivated. Your next steps would ideally be 42079 and 42094. Look back as well; 42004 Mini Backhoe Loader is a great set if you can find one for a reasonable price.
  12. Looks very similar to something Alfred Pedersen would design, especially considering the angled panel technique on the front of the cab which he used on 42008 and 42024. Good job!
  13. This must have been seriously expensive to design and produce new parts for.
  14. For one terrible second I thought that the Liebherr's back end had a serious case of the STAMPs...
  15. Well said! Slowing down allows you to check mechanisms as well and make sure everything is working properly.
  16. Damn, forgot 42043! 42054 isn't a flagship, though it should be.
  17. The Unimog and Volvo loader have B-models, and with that many parts I'd say a Liebherr B-model is highly likely.
  18. Hey, TLG was all for illegal street racing back in the Racers theme. Reckless endangerment and damage of property all over the place. Also, brown axle! Yes. Support.
  19. Hey, how about a sudden change of subject? Yep, I complained about 42088 being a redo of 42031, but I was walking by my local Smyth's and, seeing how my 42031 had gone to parts, picked one up. Got home, saw there was only one set of instructions, and found that lovely little laptop icon next to the B-model. What the actual heck? Did TLG not have enough orange ink for the instructions or something? Just checked everywhere else and realized that even the smallest sets don't carry alternate instructions! Dunno if all this is common knowledge, but I'll say it again: what the actual heck?
  20. I had one as well, don't know if I still have it. I remember not knowing what it was. Anyway, I do have a few classic sets on the wishlist, 8446 chief among them. Sometimes you do regret not getting a set back in the day when all you can get is used on Bricklink.
  21. Classic is always relevant. Look at 8459/64/39 (I own '39) - it's the best Technic wheel loader ever!
  22. Excellent job! Dunno how I've missed this, should've seen it a mile off with those colours. The 'Septic Tank' stickers are my favourite detail.
  23. So 42097 is about the same size as 42094. Interesting.
