5150 Lego

So i bought 7998 a few weeks ago. Very impressed with the set over all, but felt there were a few things just not right. I myself, am a huge fan of tractor trailers. Since lego hasn't really introduced one since the Scudeia Ferrari Trasport truck, i felt there was the new heavy hauler was a perfect canidete for this.. You can haul one, two or more trailers for thoses that want to build an Austrilian road train. Both trailers are identical, and the second trailer uses a dolly to attach to the first trailer. This is typical of the setup you'd see on the American roads. Coments are welcome, as well as sugjestions. You can view the restof the images on my Maj gallery. Kudos to you! *y* *y* But you didn't finish your review... How was the playability? How was building/freezing the ice cube's? Value? (Ok,i guess you already covered that one :-D ) How would you rate it overalll? LOL!

You need to calm down a bit. I understand what you mean, but at the same time im not going to pay 5$ to 10$ more for somthing if i can get it cheaper somwhere else. That adds up after time. Espeacailly if i'm buying more than one item. Though TRU lego selection is better, i don't just collect lego. TRU DUB car selection is horrible, as is there transformers. Wallmart is also alot closer to me. About 10 miles. I'm not going to go an extra 10 miles if i know my local wallmart has it. People aren't so happy go lucky at TRU as you seem to think. I've gotten just as much grief from people that work at TRU as from wallmart. Uh, maybe you should read what you acttualy quote . He said that TRU let him in with this dog. NOT wallmart. I can understand that since it is a toy store, and wall mart carries food items were a dog can cause problems. Well cody, at least you and I are agreement on one thing! :)

Yup. Same here. TRU prices are higher than wallmart,or target. I like sava prefer target over wallmart. I'd like to support TRU, but i gota go were the better deal is. Sorry.

Ya,i agree its a bit pricey,but its supposed to almost twice the size of the leader class bots. Funny. We got the movie over in the states before you guys did,and now your getting the toys before us! :-P I don't beilve so. I attually didn't even know that some of the bumle bee' swere having problems. But it would be good to know for sure before people for over near $100 for him. Were did you hear there was a problem?

Hah! Another techinc discusion with 8421! Great! were to begin.. Your points about 8421 are spot on glyman. But i still feel there's hope for it yet. For me, the only real problem with 8421 was like you and sinner already have stated was the pneumatics. Why lego only added two cylinders is way beyond me. It has just enough power to lift the boom. And it crashing down? Ya. No need to go into that. I added an additional 2 cylnders to mine and it works just fine! I also closed the open ports in the clyinders back to the switch. This drasicly helps the boomcome down alot slower. Other than that, i think this was a good techinc set. But i'm preeety partial to cranes. I look forward to lego's next one. Asfor the tow truck, what didn't you like about it? I agree that it isn't perfect (the boom should have had pneumatics as its not geared low enough to lift it with any load on it.) Also i'd wish there was some way to lock the the extending portion of the boom, as it tends to slide down when you tray and hoist anything up. Like i said, its not perfect. But not bad either. Hopfully this new bulldozer opens up a lot of posibilites for techinc. I can see these motor function being used for the next generation crane, and such. We'll see.

You guys need to think aboutt his from a young buyer point of veiw. Be honest with yourself. If your a 12yr old kid, what would you rather have. A post office, restrant, librarie, or a shiny new police station with police cars and such. Again, think of this from a childs point of view. I went into this a little bit in the 08 jan. sets. I just don't see kids saying to there parents.. "Dad, lego just came out with a new Librarie! If i'm good can we get it? Please???" Sorry. I just don't see a kids eyes lighting up when seeing this. If lego does in fact ever make sets like Libraries, various shops and such i don't think we'll see them in the city line up. Sets like that are more suited to cafe' corner and market street style since these sets lean more torwards AOLF's. Now a bank with conjuction with a poilce car, and armoured car i can see working. A bank with robbers, and a police car or two with a paddy wagon (prisoner transport) an armoured car, and a get-a-way car for the robbers. I can see the potential in that for both kids and AOLF's. Like many have said, this will give something for the police to protect. I for one look farward to the police lineup. Would have liked to see a new mobbile comand unit this time around, but oh well. Guess i'll have to wait for the next go around. Aslo, i don't see why everyone disliked the old police station of 05. I thought it was great!I'veeven heard of some claiming it to be to "<insert that tiresome argument>". I though it had great detail! I'm curious to see how the'll surpase the last one!

Awsome! Great moc! Just curios. I now only just saw the pics of this. I remeber quite some time ago i saw somthing simular on brickshelf(can't revert back since brickshelf is now down). It was built to a very simular scale to yours. Are you the same builder? Is this the redesgned verion?

If you don't like it then though it away, or put it up for sale or trade so someone else who appreaciates this can enjoy it. You have to remeber that TLC has to keep everyone happy. What do you think that will sell/kids want more? A bank, or police station? And since we already got Cafe" corner,and Market street lego already took care of the "shops" for now. I for one am really looking farward to the new police lineup. But the big ones for me will be technic. Already pre ordered my Bulldozer!

I agree that there was alot of adult humor in it. I myself found it halarious, but i could seehow some could take as a bit much. Curious, though, are you editing it because you yourself don't feel comfortable with it,or for your kids? Or both? Also just case Megan Fox(Mikaela) didn't look like a highschool girlis a bit silly to want to edit it her out. OH... And my 16 year old neice has friends that look simular to Megan. Many of them look alot older than they acttually are and vise versa. With young girls plastering themselfs with so much make up these day sits getting harder and harder to tell there age.

ummm.... Ya,dude. I realize that lego been around for quite some time. I know about that set as well. I even own it. Butthere'sno reason that legocan't come out with another. Espeacailly since that one is almost 20 years old.
