  1. Great point! I never thought about it like that! Thanks for the thoughtful reply!
  2. I still don't understand Lego's tendency to release new sets in January??? They miss out on the whole Christmas holiday shopping season.
  3. Thanks for resurrecting this old thread! And thanks for the nice compliments. Glad you guys liked the design. I really wish Galaxy Squad would have lasted at least another wave or two.
  4. I agree it might be the translucent one!http://farm4.staticf...5eea387d9_z.jpg
  5. "Holy Batwing Batman"....Brickmasta is a master builder! I can not believe the detail and effort put into making these instructions! They read practically like a real Lego instruction booklet. Phenomenal work Brickmasta! Buying your instructions for 15 Euro was money well spent!
  6. Awesome! Got my instructions already! Thanks Stefan! Unfortunately the firewall here at work is blocking the download. I will have to wait until I get home this evening.
  7. Cool! Nice job TheFangel! This may give me the confidence to try building one on my own now. Thanks for sharing this!
  8. There have been some rumors floating around that one of the next UCS sets will be Batman related. Most everyone thinks it will be the Tumbler, but there are a hand full of other lego bloggers saying it might just be the Batwing from TLM. And what if it also came with the parts to turn it into the Batmobile just like in the movie? A 2-in-1 UCS set! How sweet that would be!
  9. So, on more than one Lego blog that I read over the weekend all the buzz was about several new UCS sets that will soon be announced. Supposedly, one of the UCS sets will be Boba Fett's Slave I. The theme for another UCS set will be super hero related and these blogs were speculating that it might actually be The Lego Movie Batwing. Anyone else heard these rumors? Please, please, please let it be true! Brickmasta's Batwing is completely awesome, but I'm not that talented to copy his. It would be so awesome if it were in the line-up for an upcoming Batwing UCS version. For such an iconic vehicle from the movie, I'm surprised Lego didn't already do this. How about another 2-in-1...Batwing could be rebuilt into the Batmobile from TLM! Everything would be AWESOME!
  10. At the this point, the only set I'm missing is the Target exclusive "Creative Ambush." Waiting for some deep Target discounts and then maybe I might pick up that set. Bought and built the 3 new sets from the second wave over the long holiday weekend here in the US. Wondering if there will be a third wave? There are still many cool vehicles like the Batwing, Lord Business Mech, and Octan Tanker ship that would make really awesome sets as well. Would the set numbers already be known if a third wave was to follow for the Christmas season?
  11. ONCE AGAIN TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY BY BOB DE QUATRE!!! Amazing work Bob! I'd love to see some of these designs in real life.
  12. I had that book also and remember that image distinctly! Great job on your classic space MOC!
  13. [MOC] Galaxy Squad Assassin Bug
  14. Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Love the color scheme and detailing on all the drones and mini-figures!
  15. Incredible build! The integral use of the triceratops bodies is truly blowing my mind!
  16. Awesome! Love the land speeder! Red Team really did need more love from Lego and this helps to fill in the gap. Was the use of the dark red pieces intentional? The official Red Team vehicles don't use that color scheme, but I think it looks great! Much the same way the the Green Team uses bright and dark green and the Blue Team uses dark azure and dark blue. Great job all around!
  17. COMPLETELY FRIGGIN' INCREDIBLE!!!! Awesome job Missing Brick. If I didn't know any better I'd think I was watching an actual scene right out of Aliens.
  18. Awesome Galaxy Squad creation! Good job using only the Bug Obliterator pieces!
  19. The Assassin Bug (a.k.a. Wheel Bug) most commonly have an elongated head with a distinct narrowed neck, long legs, and a prominent, segmented tube (rostrum) for feeding and defending itself. These predators use the long rostrum to inject a lethal saliva that liquefies the insides of the prey, which are then sucked out. The saliva contains enzymes that predigest the tissues they swallow. This process is generally referred to as extra-oral digestion. The saliva is commonly effective at killing prey substantially larger than the bug itself. Galaxy Squad Assassin Bug Inspiration by mink66, on Flickr This is a nasty bug! And the perfect model for another Lego Galaxy Squad Alien Bugoid creation! A powerful Bug that strikes absolute fear into any Galaxy Squad Team member especially if caught alone out on the battle field. The Assassin Bug can make a quick meal out of any unsuspecting human, or store it in its purplue coccoon for later consumption or to bring back to the hive. Good luck humans...they will need it! 20. I totally agree! And I have built several MOC's to help fill in the voids a third or fourth wave would have filled in to "complete" each of the Team colors. But unfortunately the past and current sucess of the Star Wars TLG merchandising will most likely continue to inhibit the sustainability of any TLG space theme to only one or two waves. Plus, I think the timing of the new Lego Movie hindered any future waves for Galaxy Squad.
  21. Makes total sense now Faefrost! Thank you for the explanation and reminding me that 70703 was a TRU exclusive.
  22. I want to know why the Star Slicer (set 70703) is not acknowledged in the official Galaxy Squad Products portion of the lego.com website. Was there some controversy with this set? Personally, it's my favorite bug with some fairly cool building techniques to achieve the shape of the thorax and abdomen. It's still for sale on shop at home. I don't understand. Anyway, I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this. On another note, I was really enjoying the Galaxy Squad "Defeat this Bug" gallery on the lego.com website for the last several months, but alas that is gone now too.
  23. Nice job! Too bad there aren't any really good Red Team stickers to fill up all the white areas on the wings.
  24. Thanks for the compliments Bob De Quatre! Your LDD MOC's are trully amazing and awe-inspiring! I need to become more familiar with the software. Yes, the pilot does have a difficult time seeing what's directly in front of him. It's the one downfall of the 7647 design. I so wanted to lower the cockpit just a layer or two so the pilot could sit more upright, but this proved very difficult since the wings need to fold in and under the cockpit area to chance into ground assault mode.
  25. Here comes the Green Team's ultimate weapons platform, the Bug Zapper. This vehicle can unleash a load of firepower on the Alien Insectoids from the air or ground with the ability to switch being jet flyer and ground assault modes. Once in ground assault mode with the wings folded in and the fuselage retracted, the 6 main engines serve a dual purpose and give the Bug Zapper limited ground mobility. An extra feature of ground assault mode is the ability for the Green Team Speeder Bike to connect using a landing post mounted high on the rear portion of the fuselage essentially turning the Bug Zapper into a battle tank with 360 degrees of protection. This creation was derived using the retired Mars Mission set 7647 MX-41 Switch Fighter as a starting point. I really like this set since it has a converting function which fits in well with all the Galaxy Squad Team vehicles. I added lots of Galaxy Squad styling elements, got rid of all the Mars Mission orange bricks and added just the right amount of dark and bright green bricks to make my creation fit right in with the other Green Team vehicles. Hope you like it!
