[KEY TOPIC] Eurobricks MOC LXF Index
___ replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Well, if there would be a search for a "MOC Indexer" volunteer (just for this topic), here I am + I would also have some suggestions how to manage this topic for future... -

I am affraid the only indexer can be the one who started this topic Calabar cos noone else can edit his post. -

Hmm, well, it looks like the index was lastly updated in 2011(!!!), so the question is: does the original initiator of this post still intend to update his index or is this already dead actually and there is no reason to post our MOCs here? Being really curious about this... -
New Parts for LGEO Library
___ replied to Darats's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The "roughness" is actually defined as bumps{} in normal{} for slopes probably in your rendered .pov file, just search for it and change its values to ones that suits your needs. -
[POVRAY] #3947a crater baseplate for LDD renders
___ replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Actually I used MLCAD and Ldview settings from this post (I am working with LDD, so I only needed this one crater baseplate .pov export to start working on my "trick", nothing else, so I am not able tell you anything more about LDRAW stuff, sorry ): http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=65876 -
[POVRAY] #3947a crater baseplate for LDD renders
___ replied to ___'s topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Right, I am using LGEO lib for the crater baseplate, so if it's you who made LGEO then yes... Basically what I did was I took most of the LDview generated .pov, transformed it to my needs and used it in my LDD rendering setup (color, bg, lights etc.). In fact kind a partial hybrid LDD/LDraw POVRAY render. -

Nevermind, looks really good anyway

I like that small gas container with top wheel...that looks sweet
-
Well, actually I love SW quite a lot and do not like ST much (except for those absolutely first TV series from 60's with Spock&Co. that we watched as kids on a foreigner Austria ORF television in mid 80's, of course, cos they are my childhood you know so it's different with those ones ) ...and thanx a lot for your comment: I am happy that you like my model
-
Indeed as I thought, very well executed then + happy to hear that about the studs
-
Yea, I have all of them... Well, me too of course but at least I saw his home model of SW Falcon he made for/with his son
-
I do not now if it was already posted somewhere around here, but today I was talking to Bjarne Panduro Tveskov and he told me about his latest interview, so everyone interested can check it here: http://www.powerofth...ith-lego-at-17/

Oh, thank you very much, this is probably the most encouraging comment I've ever received Exactly my thought - you are my kind-of-a-person it seems BTW later I will also add new pics to all my Eurpbricks MOCs (you can see all in one place here: http://lego.queryen.com) showing their modularities as all of them have some, maybe you'll be even more interested + I have like 30+ more MOCs just not rendered at this time and all of them are in this design of Techtroners (ehm, my own pseudo-subtheme)

Thanx As for the suggestion: sorry: I do not want any fractions just like there were none in CS, actually I do not like fractions at all - what I did like on CS was the pure fun of exploration without any fighting...I do not remember me as a child in mid 80's being said of not having any vilains, my game plan was almost everytime something like: hey, we found new planet with strange objects and plants etc. (I know younger ones will not agree with me but... )
-
...and here is a hypothetical LEGO box for this MOC: Model modularity: Find out more on set's official webpage: http://lego.queryen.com/php/691502.php?j=en You can see it also at MOC Pages here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/412163 LEGO Ideas direct link (please, give it your support there if you really like it...thanx):

Sorry, but this is not an argument: if you are affraid of someone breaking/hacking your sw then you should not make any in the first place cos there still maybe someone who buys it and put it on net for free for all tho illegally, of course - what will you do then??? This is really really really one bad developer thinking when even SW like Foundry MODO/NUKE etc. (which cost like 1000 EUR+) have their trial versions...you lost me from this point on cos basically what you want from me is: hey, believe me when I am telling you it works and just buy it so you can try it yourself.

I like all those transparent blue parts, which is one of my favorite LEGO color/material - very good model
-
It looks really great! I like the fortress wall (or what it is), also those smaller bikes and the terrain looks super On the other hand the only thing I am missing here are studs (as I am the CS guy, it's quit reasonable I guess ), but I understand very well that it was your intention as this studless trend is so popular these days + it probably look more as a sculpt than a LEGO model, which I assume was also your goal here...and you succeeded
-
Super, that all is fine BUT what I was saying is why don't you let users firstly test you sw before buying it? For example from what you are saying, as LDD user, I would not buying it if I would knew this, but as there is no chance to let us try it first (demo, trial, shareware...) I would be pretty angry cos I would pay for something that is not good from my point of view just to find out afterwards, hope you understand me what I am saying...and it seems my concern was at least partly right. Just made it as a trial, like for 7 days or so and that's it, that way everyone can test it and find out if it works for him or not...

MOC from Other Builder - Part Doesn't Exist
___ replied to zjonathan's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That is absolutely normal to me as one has no obligation to strictly stick to really existing part colors if he is designing a MOC digitaly (LDD, MLCAD etc.): he probably made photorealistic render so you thought it is actually real build model. And as Calabar said: in such case all your chances are hoping that TLG will someday release the part in designer's color...or replace it by some other color that really exist. -
Well, I hope so - all possible fingers crossed (even the virtual, astral and LEGO ones )
