Oh no!!! It's dejá-vu time! Another one of our leaders has been attacked, and once again we're surrounded by sausages... I think I'll need some very strong coffee to wake me up this morning... * sips some hot coffee I guess this does however prove that our Captain and Lt. were not corrupted and only had the Regiment's best interests at heart... which is not a consolation in any way. And neither is the fact that we convicted an innocent man to death yesterday, even though both the Lt. and myself tried hard to personally get in touch with him and convince him to prove his loyalty to the Regiment... By the way, has anybody seen Mr. Gale's brother, Pvt. Wilson Gale? I think I haven't seen him around for a couple of days now...

What are you talking about!? Niedermayer is a Defender, how could he ever replace a Forward? If you mean as a Team Captain, of course Niedermayer got the C after Sakic retired - it was either going to be him or Pronger and let's face it, Chris is not precisely captain material. As to whether Joe would have made the team, I'm sure he'd have played his heart out to be there - the reason that he could not actually do that was why he quit, so hats off to the man. Very true, Iggy's contribution to his team is always huge. I wish the Rangers had traded him for Zherdev while the Russian was still considered a future star... That's at least ONE veteran that would have been useful for the club, unlike all the Shanahans, Averys, Prospals and other underachieving big earners.

Yet you never had any problems building that beautiful train-related MOC you have in your signature

GGBP 140 ?! I'm heartbroken... Looks like I'll need to do some serious saving :/

And that is precisely the reason why I voted for you in the first place, Mr. Gale. I can tolerate personal disapproval of my own actions, but things have escalated to a level where we can no longer overlook your constant efforts to mislead your fellow soldiers and have them vote for all the people who can actually help get to the bottom of this problem. With all the voting and unvoting going on, I stand by my initial vote, since you have done nothing to prove that you are concerned about this Regiment's morale and are not actually one of those ruining it along the way of escaping the battlefield. I will however give you one last chance to clear your name. As a Provost Guard, it is my duty to be sure I'm doing the right thing - for my deeds have very direct consequences. Do share with us, Mr. Gale, where were you at the night of the bombing, did you pay anyone a visit and is there any person who can confirm that you were not in the fact the one who put the bomb in our Captain's tent?

Under normal circumstances words like these would have sent you straight to court marshal, private. Having had the chance to soak in the betrayal and lies that seem to have taken over the Regiment however, I can understand where you're coming from. I do however feel we must respect our leaders, even if you may not always trust their judgement or motives. After all, that kind of respect is what the army itself is based on and if we neglect it, we are no better than a pack of wolves fighting each other for survival. Once again though, your words do sound quite alarming, if a bit too harsh. Could you go into more detail regarding your accusations against the Lieutenant?

There is a thin line between suspecting and calling on your fellow soldiers to vote both Provost Guards off - which would only aide your cause. And you've long crossed that line, hence my vote for you. Now, I understand that for some reason you have a personal issue with me - hell, I've been calling most soldiers around here sausage-munching no-good-doers, so almost everyone has their reason to bear a grudge against me. But these latest actions of yours go far beyound personal feelings of dislike for me - they involve both myself as a Provost Guard and my colleague Ian Des. We do not in any way think that we are above the other soldiers, nor above suspicion - since obviously you are all paranoid - but do not forget that we have been brought to actually do a job. If we wanted to run away, any one of us could have done that long before ending up in the 42. Regiment of all places. As to all the "I have nothing to hide" claims being made recently - curiously, I was probably the first one to do so and I ended up being a deserter, at least in the eyes of Mr. Gale - who, on the other side, claims to be pure as a dove. Double standards, perhaps?

Iginla made all the difference... Not just on the occasion, but throughout the tournament. Definitely my favourite current hockey player, now that Joe Sakic has hung up his skates. I would have loved to see him win one more gold medal though

Zum Geburtstag viel Glück, Holodoc! And many happy returns, Athos!

Yes, and an entire Regiment full of hungry, sausage-munching no-good-doers who only care about their stomachs - or wives. If I was to base my vote on observations, I'd probably have to vote off almost every single soldier in this Regiment, since all that their captain's death has done is to increase their appetite for sausages and intrigues. Isn't the latter the definition of a 'deserter' in most cases? I don't see how stating that you were the first one to start pointing fingers for no apparent reason proves that you are indeed an honoured soldier. If anything, it points in the other direction. Monsieur Gale, I had made a decision not to vote for anyone until I have conclusive evidence as to where their loyalties lie. I may not be holding a piece of paper in my hands showing without a doubt that you are a traitor who's willing to bomb his own captain just so that they can escape the battlefield, but your deeds during this last day have been more than enough of a proof as to where you stand here. Trying to turn your fellow soldiers on me and monsiuer Ian Des is a very cowardly deed, even more so when all you have to say to defend this is "if it's a shot in the dark you want, why not go for them Provosts". Other than a deserter, I just can't see who else would want both me and Mr. Des out of the picture. Hence it is clear to me who I should cast my vote for here and who is most definitely one of the deserters among us. I hereby vote: Private Dan Gale.

My first Train was the 10020 Santa Fe Super Chief, followed by the 10133 BNSF GP-38. I've bought a motor, tracks and everything else separately on eBay, but so far I'm really happy with our 9V collection. A few more purchases and I'll probably be making the switch over to PF. Other than that, I'm planning on purchasing the Factory Hobby Trains set soonish which would finally allow me to moc up an elaborate tram for our city... I know all of you guys love the Metroliner to bits, and even though it was also one of my favourite sets during my childhood, I don't see it as being a really MOCworthy set, so I'm not that keen on it.
-
Wow, what an informative thread! Thanks a million to all of you guys for sharing that information, it's been really interesting for me to find out there was actually an Aquanauts Monorail in the making. Anyways, back on topic here - my vote is pretty boring, 6399 all the way of course. The Airport Shuttle is probably the only set I'm actually dreaming of getting my hands on and keeping it intact... And I've decided that I will get a MISB one in the future - I just hope the prices won't have doubled by then
-
And it definitely shows by the entire process of voting here. Once again however, as I've stated, the lack of any solid information dictates that I refrain from voting for now. Even if that might mean I am letting one of the deserters slip through the cracks, I'd rather see that happen and then act on it immediately than put a question mark over the integrity of an innocent man. I fully understand that my fellow soldiers want me and Provost Guard Ian Ded to act quickly in order to expose the deserters, but you must bear in mind that this is simply not the kind of work that's done overnight. One thing I can tell you for sure though is, my work here will be done!
-
Definitely so, but all the information I have so far is inconclusive, which is why I cannot share anything. I do however wonder why there was not a single soul who followed suit and showed his backpack to his fellow soldiers. I was mocked for being the first one to do so, but even after the death of your captain, there has been no actual activity, apart from pointing fingers. The only sound suggestion I have heard so far was from my colleague - Monsieur Ian Des had the good idea of investigating the bombing site and see whether we can manage to find any evidence. Captain, what are your commands, shall we proceed with that, or should the soldiers stick to their sausages?
-
Mr Gale, you can rest assured that, as I've already stated, you will be made aware in case any Provost Guard has clear and conclusive information. And so will all your fellow soldiers, by witnessing the traitor face justice. One more thing, monsieur - I would like to remind you that at no point in your previous comments have you even mentioned the Provost Guards or seeked their assistance in any way. You have only requested information from your captain, and while you may be unhappy about the amount of details he's shared with you, you are supposed to trust his judgement. I will not comment any further on your behaviour from earlier today - as I've said, I'm not one to point fingers. Which is why I will take my time and observe the reactions within the Regiment a bit longer before I share my views on this dire matter.

Please excuse me, but I just have to say this.... [outburst] CROSBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! [/outburst] That about sums it up. But really - hats off to Team USA who did put up a fight and played a great game of hockey. These young boys definitely have huge potential - I was suprised by Parise's stamina and eye for the game... he'll definitely go on to become a great LW! And Ryan Miller has come out a clear winner after the big fight between him and Luongo. Lu is not a bad goalie, but I have the feeling he will be overrated after this tournament - and at the end of the day, he's still miles behind Brodeur. Most of all though, I'm really happy for the likes of Niedermayer and Pronger... I know the latter may have not had the best publicity in recent years, but he's still one of the best defenders I've ever seen, so it's good to see both him and Scott win the Olympics before they go.

...Mon Dieu, where have I ended up! I thought I was sent here to do a job, instead I'm surrounded by soldiers who are so unfazed by the death of their captain and commander that all they can think and talk about is sausages. And act coqy while at it! Do you boys know no shame!? As if that weren't enough, fingers are pointing at all kinds of directions when in fact it is yourselves you need to take a good hard look at! I'm considering voting for the next person who brings up the topic of munching breakfast while smoke is still coming out of the tent of the Regiment's captain. As to the allegations against me, I find that rather... intriguing, to say the least. Which is why I will refrain from voting now - a man's honour comes first and foremost and as much as I value my own honour, my fellow soldiers' reputation comes before my pride. Monsiuer Gale, I will not be voting for you in return - at least for now - instead I'll just have you know that Provost Guards are not supposed to report anything to privates. Our job is to work together with the Provost General and the Captain and those are the only people we are responsible to. The only information you'll receive will be at the moment the deserters among you are brought to justice - and the gallows. Ironic how you would expect one of us to step forward and just sputter out what we've already found out about this corrupted Regiment...
-
Whack me... if you can My sigfig is my avatar... I'd prefer if you could include the helmet, even if it's not precisely this one - after all, that is my protection against all random acts of nature / human evil, whacking included! And do rest assured that there'll be quite a few who'll end up being WHACKED, teeheheeee
-
Enough of the sausage talk already! How could you speak about that when we have such a grave issue at hand!
-
Happy Fang Day to you mate!!! I wish you lots of luck, love and good health... Everything else (yes, tons of LEGO included) will come Btw, I just had a look at my profile - I signed up on EB on your birthday! Wow, it's been a year now and it feels like I've been here for ages... that's precisely how boring this place is Cheers mate!
-
Yes, with no battles coming our way, perhaps you are indeed right Captain - and this is really the best moment to take a long hard look at ourselves and save what's left of this Regiment's pride! A lot of good questions were raised here. Pvt. Oult, do you have someone who could corroborate your story, so that we know where to start?
-
Well, in any case, hats off to Team USA for the wonderfully played game. Canada were totally clueless tonight, and a major reason for that was the tactically sound play of the American team.
-
Indeed Ian, but this job is precisely what we were brought here to do. I firmly believe that the lads' morale should be placed above all else and we shouldn't allow the deserters to become the main topic of discussion. We're at war here and I would prefer to see us fighting our enemies, rather than fighting between ourselves. Now, this poor young man... His throat was slit, as captain Lecoq says. It may be a long shot, but I think a search through the soldiers' backpacks could give us some insight as to whether the killer is among us and who it might have been. * Throws down his backpack There, you can go ahead and search mine, Ian. I got bored of cleaning my bayonette a couple of days ago anyway.
-
Too much aggression can't lead to no good. As far as I'm concerned, I'm a big fan of Chris Pronger from his Avalanche years, but that sums it up for the US team... And for the record - I wear a Team Canada jersey when I go training P.S.: Am I the only one who feels Ovechkin has been totally useless for Russia so far? Good thing they have a strong team, because if they were to depend on their "star" player, they'd totally be struggling.
-
What's all this talk of deserters and shooting, men? Do you think that this is the way to win battles - by dividing ourselves into camps?! I say we rally together and fight together like brothers - otherwise we'd end up losing our pride, which is the most important thing we still have left after these battles. We have a tough campaign ahead of us; there's only one enemy - and they're on the other side of the trenches! Reflect on this while sipping your morning tea. And leave the deserters to us Provost Guards. ...Now then, is that a nice Andouilette I see there, monsiеur Shadón? Is there any chance that we could find some moutarde de Dijón to go with that?
