  1. But it was worth all the effort! I think this is one of the best minifig-scale fire trucks I've seen recently! Needless to say, I was thrilled to finally see its final revision on the frontpage of Classic-Town.net
  2. mikey, there is a huge difference between discussing and sharing hilarious Brickflicks and starting threads about random videos posted by random youtube users. I do hope you realize that.
  3. Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but I just saw this skit today and I loved it to bits. The animation is perfect and goes together with the comedy itself so well that I almost larfed my megablocks off
  4. The Regiment has spoken its mind, and all the points against Pvt. Perot mentioned above are very much valid. I was most confused by his revelation that he's gone ahead and tried to investigate himself last night, which to me confirms the fact that we cannot rely on him to tell us anything sane about his findings. What I was particularly looking for today was someone who was willing to start pointing fingers immediately, and Pvt. Perot has not even tried to furnish some additional proof to his allegations. Now that the situation is his word against Pvt. Entaine's words, I am not so sure about his findings anymore either, but the main reason behind me voting for him today was the fact that he seemed to be in such a huge rush to start voting against Pvt. Reutal once again. Pvt. Perot, I wish I could have investigated you last night so that I could confirm whether you are sane or not -- and, more importantly, whether you are loyal to this Regiment or not. Seeing as I could not do this, I will do as promised and not refrain from voting today - and based on your cowardly actions so far, my vote can only go against you. Vote: Pvt. Tom Perot /TinyPiesRUs
  5. Recently Fellowed... What can I say, apart from -- Thanks for the honour guys! Oh, and now that my nickname has been changed, should I start referring to myself on such occasions using Eilif's rather apt description - "MetroiD, previously known as a plurality of otters"
  6. I just wanted to ask... Now that Shadows Sheldon has officially raped a fellow game character, should we start worrying about the fate of the 42. Regiment?
  7. Wow, you boys do seem to be in quite a hurry! Did you not hear Pvt. Entaine's words that he can actually vouch for Pvt. Reutal's actions during the night? Of course, I have no reason to put my faith blindly into anything that Pvt. Entaine says, but I have just as much reason to trust your judgement - especially when you both seem to have become so trigger-happy all of a sudden. Let's use some logic for a change here, shall we. If we do accept that Pvt. Entaine is telling the truth and Pvt. Reutal had nothing to do with last night's murders, that means that for two nights in a row, our supposed "killer" has done nothing, even though all the odds have been stacking up against him. This just doesn't look right - he MUST have made a wrong step with all this pressure on him - especially if he's the killer indeed. And now is the time to find out whether there was such a step - so we can be sure about who and why we are convicting here. Pvt. Entaine - your information could be crucial here, so it might be a good idea to share some more info on how you and Pvt. Reutal spent the night... without going into the more intimate stuff please

So did I, and I didn't even realise it was a year old before you posted that comment! Shame on me... In any case though, that doesn't make this one any less worthy of a blog, and just for the record - it's the best minifig-scale limo I've seen so far.
  9. Thanks for sharing. Those articles makes a nice informative reading ;) I don't "believe" in immortality though - or in mortality per se, for that matter.
  10. There's a ton of great ideas implemented there - I can't wait to see this in person! We definitely have to make sure those white collar geezers get some proper means of transportation... P.S.: Can't help but wonder how come your daughter still hasn't felt the urge to cause mass distruction to this white world of business you've created There's a ton of great ideas implemented there - I can't wait to see this in person! 11. That reminds me so much of my first car - a Russian beast that seemed to drive on gas AND oil I'll definitely keep looking, thanks for the support mate - I've kept my Vanucci gear in the closet for far too long... Hope I'll luck out sooner or later, although I'm also quite keen on simply spending that money elsewhere... We'll see how it all pans out in the end ;)
  12. Went to see a ZXR 400 a couple of days ago. Left in 5 minutes utterly disappointed The missing right rear view mirror was a dead giveaway from the moment I arrived there - even though the bike had been given a new paintjob. The covers (engine cover, among others) were showing nice deep scratches and the exhausts had both been replaced. And now for the coolest part - the guy kept saying the bike had only done 25k kms. Why even bother arguing with him? I was so disappointed I didn't even bother checking the front forks, and now I regret that because they would probably have been worthy of a photograph, considering that nasty hit/fall the poor ZXR had suffered... These bikes are hard to come by on the local market and I'm not too keen on importing one from Germany or Switzerland... so I'm starting to think whether I should not save up some more and go straight for a 600. Although I must admit, I was awfully keen on getting a small(er) bike so that I could learn proper handling in corners without worrying too much about horsepower...

    Gym

Well, I've found out I have a long way to go until I really manage to regain my fitness (AND get rid of all this fat!), but things aren't looking too bad. As long as I can make sure I don't get any more nasty falls during training (hockey), I'll be hitting the gym regularly for the next 3-4 months. Lats and triceps seem to have withered away, just like that. My leg workout is still my strongest day, so for now I really need to focus on cardio in order to lose weight and triceps so that I can improve my bench press results.

A really great MOC rupi. Well done
  15. With the 53rd guarding the exits to our camp I thought we'd have a quiet night... Instead, I've lost a colleague and a friend. I am extremely sad that Mr. Des failed to go after those deserters - they should have been the ones killed, not the loyal soldiers of this Regiment! Men, our lines are becoming thinner by the day. If we want to get through this and live to fight another day - and if we ever want to win a fight - we must vote today. Not so quick Pvt. Reutal - you are still very much under suspicion, and STILL wearing a moustache which is one of the few solid leads that I can follow. There is hardly any evidence proving that you are honoured and the members of this Regiment still seem to be convinced that you are not innocent. Investigating yourself, Pvt. Perot!? And still you expect us to trust your judgement and the results of your investigations? Now, Mr. Gale's actions - or rather lack thereof - have been suspicious from the day his brother started claiming that us Provosts are deserters. Instead of doing something to help his brother, he let an honoured soldier face the firing squad, even though he of all people should have come forward and defended Pvt. Gale. The things that have been happening from that moment on however have also been rather curious - first our Lt. was murdered, and now another high ranking officer... Combined with the fact that someone deliberately blocked Pvt. Gale from being investigated, that does start to smell fishy - I can almost see a revenge of sorts taking place here. Could you please share with us what conclusions you've come to, Pvt. Gale, after having spent two days pondering over everything that's happened - as you'd stated on numerous occasions? As to myself, I wouldn't be surprised if I am the killer's next target - and once/if he gets rid of both Provosts, I don't even want to think what that would mean for the deserters in this Regiment who would be as good as free to go... One thing's for sure though - today we ARE voting, and I urge you men - let us find this killer and put an end to this!

Protein ftw! Milan, are you preparing for some contest buddy? :]
  17. !? Work better for what precisely? LDD is rather limited as far as bricks are concerned... Besides, I'd never even consider buying something I built in LDD - the prices there are absolutely ridiculous...
  18. Did I forget to mention that the monkey is off to whack him on the head with a banana for that? He may observe all he wants, but he'd better refrain from using his spyglass for actual spying! Oh well... that's the downside to not having had enough money to erect a nice statue. The Town Council should have thought twice! As to the lovey-dovey pirates - the Town Council may be holding a "Pirates are warm and wonderful (and they also like flowers)" week, but that doesn't mean Mr. Observing Guy wouldn't get it from that swashbuckler down at the square if he knew what was going on... Good thing the monkeys in this town are just as "piratey" as any other residents... and so while Yimkee is busy secretly drinking rum, this one here (sorry, I didn't catch its name) is obviously a primate version of Judge Dredd @ Big Cam: Thank you for blogging this mate
  19. Erm... when is the Build coming to a close anyway? I thought it was supposed to end by 15.03? Can't wait to see the map
  20. I had high expectations, seeing as I like most of the movies that Tim Burton has made. Fair enough, he might be a tad bit too emo-ish, but that always gives his flicks that extra bit of atmosphere that all the other movies in this genre manage to miss while trying too hard. This time around though, I was definitely disappointed. We all love Depp, that's a given (not Joey... although, come to think of it, in fact, we also love Joey - and Chandler too?). But after seeing "The Imaginarium...", I think he's been doing a bit too much of the same lately, and every movie he does is generally a repetition of the same looney character. Different traits, but essentially the same guy - so that you know just what to expect from any movie featuring Johnny Depp by now. What I didn't like about Alice in Wonderland itself actually had nothing to do with Johnny Depp though. I didn't enjoy Mia Wasikowska's portrayal Alice at all - she was way too dull and downright boring, especially around the perfectly stupid white queen or the ludicrous red queen, which by the way was a weird but rather successful combination between the Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts - two different characters from the Alice books... Luckily, Stephen "Cheshire" Fry was able to fix that whenever he made an appearance. I was particularly unhappy about the weird kind of relationship Tim Burton seemed to try to create between Alice and the Hatter though - I thought that was pretty unnecessary. Yes, Depp is lovable and every character he plays ends up twisted in a weird love story, but... Alice and the Hatter?! Come on, I mean... not even if it was a weird father-daughter relationship was that OK. If the Hatter had such a major role to play, then the White Rabbit might as well have ended up playing the Hero. The ending seemed pretty made up - in a bad way - and/or stolen from similar stories (Wizard of Oz, anyone?), and the whole 3D thing was absolutely unnecessary. In no way did I at any point feel that I was actually enjoying the 3D experience. I do hope this stupid fad of filming every other movie in 3D dies away quickly, because it's just too damn boring/distracting and my eyes hurt like hell! All in all, I could have avoided Tim Burton's Alice just like I managed to avoid Avatar - and I think I wouldn't have missed anything, despite all the hype. Once again I'm convinced that it's simply better to stick to the actual books when you want true entertainment.
  21. Ouch! Okay, okay, you can stop staring, the namecalling fun ends here and we're back to discussing games in all seriousness... As a direct response to your question - I've tried out quite a few of the Zeldas by now (haven't really played them through, just started them). I don't mind the toon graphics, not even a bit, even though at times they might look too childish. It's the gameplay that's decisive for me and there's hardly any console game that comes close to Zelda in that aspect. Mario is a nice way to kill half an hour or so, but gets boring extremely quickly, at least for me. That leaves us with Metroid, which as I've already mentioned I have insufficient experience with. And perhaps Castlevania, which I genuinely hated on the GameBoy. I seem to recall from my gaming years that Metroid Prime: Hunters was for DS...? You could give that a try.
  22. You've done a great work on that MOC, Waterbrick, and it has really turned out lovely - especially the coffin itself. The only thing I'm not too sure about is the overly joyous/vibrant blue colour which doesn't really correspond with my idea of the morgue being a grim place - but at the end of the day, why follow all the stereotypes anyway!
  23. I just got a mail from our fellow Romanian LUG - they're doing an event next week and they invited me to drop by, which I can't considering my lack of transportation for the time being. If work does go back to normal over the next month or so though, who knows - I might finally manage to fulfil the dream of a lifetime and buy a bike! ...either that, or I'll buy all the equipment I need for a summer of inline hockey, now that the ice season is almost done...

    Market

According to the map, the Market (#6) was supposed to be 16x32? Seems alright to me then...
