  1. I noticed that earlier on Brickshelf and bookmarked it straight away This is a reall delightful MOC which brings many memories of Classic Town scenes - in fact, I think it would have been a perfect fit for the summer look of the EB Town forum
  2. Build a LEGO theme park! Please do!!! Or at least a full log flume ride, with curves and all... I'm a real pain in the neck, I know This is a great MOC, Chris, thanks for sharing it! I love to see innovative creations and that is precisely what this one is.
  3. ...or all the colour variations. But really, Dennimator, when you presented your "build-off" with Ralph and this MOC, you did mention that you'd gotten "a fair few ideas" and combined the best of them. I think we were all waiting for you to step forward and share some of your sources, which you never did. I hope this doesn't sound too harsh, but coming from someone who considers himself to be one of the few "known 5-wide builders", as I believe you'd commented earlier on someone else's MOC, you really should have given credit to the original authors of your ideas...
  4. It's fairly obvious that the company is real, and that's it's also providing LEGO fans in Russia with a wide variety of sets. It's the fact that it has almost entirely copied the official LEGO site that's being discussed as 'unfair commerce" here.
  5. He seems messed up enough as he is... My guess as to why we still haven't heard of him is that our Commander is still too drunk to show his face and lead us! That's what hard partying will do to you. I guess there's no better definition for "deserting" than hitting the pubs for weeks on end and letting our brothers die on the frontlines. Are we free to go back to our duties or home places now? I don't think anyone's going to pay for us for slacking around anyway, and with war still looming, I'd rather try and save what little dignity I have left by starting a revolutionary organisation here within the Republic. Our enemies can not win this war as long as there are still people who are willing to resist them, and the villages are ripe with potential for revolutionary operations. Oh, and I'd really like to return this rifle, it feels like a doll accessory to me right now - all looks and no action. I honestly wouldn't trust it if we ever went into combat. I'd rather stick to my old guns. * Points to his old trusty bayonet
  6. I love the smallness of this hauler! It's fun to see construction creations in this size, because they're both cute and they mean business at the same time
  7. Oui monsieur, I also believe some of us might have made far too many visits to local pubs... With the Division's morale in mind, I do find this highly disturbing and would be happy if we were finally given the chance to go into the field of combat.
  8. Just for reference - the situation here in Bulgaria regarding LEGO's distribution channels is the same. LEGO products in the country are only distributed by their official partners, whose customer service is absolutely intolerable, not to mention their pricing policy. A new LEGO shop, however, was founded about a year ago, and it is providing pick-a-brick service, as well as a huge variety of sets that the official distributor does not supply, along with many Exclusives. I firmly believe that the existence of this shop has helped liven up the LEGO scene in Bulgaria and it shows. That said, the important thing here is that the website I'm talking about bears no resemblance whatsoever to LEGO.com's layout or styling. Which is precisely why I personally see the case discussed here as copyright infringement and a perfect example of unfair business - even if that store has actually had a positive influence on the Russian LEGO community.
  9. If I'm gonna need that kind of machinery to pick up my fork in the next millenium, I'd rather go back to simpler times! Very cool MOC, Selander :)
  10. Thanks mate :) It's so cool to have an entire category "styled" by me
  11. Blogged Hope you and Clare have a great Valentine's Day mate!
  12. A brief look at my sig should tell you all about my personal preferences when it comes to city transportation Two wheels for the win!
  13. Thanks for the great topic & idea, Brickster mate - it's always good when there's new concepts discussed, and besides the experience other Train Tech members share is invaluable! To me, Pizza Displays, as you've called them, are cute but at the end of the day I don't think they're the best way to showcase everything a Train LUG would want to demonstrate... As Zuloo has pointed out, these layouts are quite confined in space and the trains that run on them need to be rather short - unless we're talking about a really big "pizza" layout, in which case it could as well be expanded into a real 2-tier layout with bridges, overpasses, etc. Ideally, I think such an approach to a train display would be most suitable for home surroundings - and microscale dioramas. For example, a train going round (underneath) the Toy Store with a couple of small Christmas-themed MOCs would look perfect in a pizza-style arrangement. As to microscale - that kinda reminds of snow globes, I think it would be really nice if someone could make a neat lil microscale pizza display... As to my personal experience with those - I've seen a fair share of model train pizza displays in different malls in Berlin - and I believe the smaller the scale, the greater the success of those. Still, true full-blown train displays almost always came out as winners in terms of popularity.
  14. Hey mate, have you noticed you've just been blogged?
  15. There IS no sense here, Darth. Kindermix are obviously trying to make their website look like the LEGO official site in hopes of deceiving people into thinking that they are or at least, that they represent LEGO in Russia. Even if they do represent LEGO in Russia as their official distributors, they still should not be copying the layout of the official LEGO website 1:1. TLG does not run operations on its own in Russia, so this is simply deceiving and wrong.
  16. Magnificient... as usual! Keep an eye on Classic-Town.net, Teddy, I have a feeling this will be appearing on the frontpage in a couple of hours...
  17. Thanks Tom, it's good to know I can always rely on our community as a main source of info and then share it with as much people as possible!
  18. Monsieur Dita Svelte, Please allow me to wish you a very happy birthday today and less shaving cuts tomorrow. Ah, megablock it... Have a blast mate!! Just make sure you don't turn Sydney red while having it - I think you guys have had enough of that last year All the best to you & yours - this looks like a great week for your family, so make sure you enjoy that!
  19. Hey guys, I know there used to be a thread about "partner forums & sites", in which I was planning to post this, but it's gone down the drain and I was unable to find it. So I'm starting this thread in which I just wanted to let you know (especially the mods and admins of EB) that as a moderator and news coordinator of our Bulgarian LUG forum, I've been using info posted on EuroBricks as my main source of LEGO-related news. Now, I know that generally all the info posted on EB is free to share, apart from the banners & other copyright artwork and I've also discussed this with a few of the staff members. Nevertheless, I still wanted to post this, just to be sure that I've let you all know and have your consent. I've always tried to inform the respective author of the article or person who's posted the news on EB that I've used their material as a news source and I've also frequently cited EuroBricks as my source by claiming that the respective info was shared by "our friends over at EuroBricks". I have also tried to contact all the respective authors and let them know I've used their image / work, so that they are aware of that fact. I'd be happy to take down any images or news which you might not want to share or see published on another website/ forum, all you have to do is let me down via a short PM and I'll act ASAP. In the meantime though, I must say once again THANK YOU to this entire community for being such a reliable and never-ending source of LEGO news. Seeing as Lebgo.org is currently the only place where Bulgarian users can get the latest information regarding all things LEGO in their mother tongue, I hope that by using EuroBricks as my primary source and linking to the forum here, I could also stimulate more people to join this fantastic community.
  20. Ah yes, moi aussi, but I'll do it in Ace Ventura style: buh-luuuuh-oh-gguuuuhd!
  21. Morning Davey (at least in this corner of the world it is ) Have I mentioned just how much I loved the design of this one? No?! Well, I guess blogging it is one of the ways to say that. Keep up the great work mate - and btw, is Stacey planning on coming up with a train anytime soon?
  22. I have this strange, almost inexplicable feeling that someone outside the 42nd is having their birthday today... And the worst part is, it feels to me like that person is watching us and carefully tracing every step we take! Fellow soldiers, I think we can only hope he has a ball today , otherwise my guess is we'd be in for quite some trouble...
  23. Aaah! A veeeerry happy birthday to our ISM host! Cheers, scouts - hope you have tons of fun on your 18th mate!
  24. Wow! This is an awesome re-design - I love it! And I must admit, we might be tempted to steal your roof design in some of our future MOCs - but we'll always credit you
