  1. Eventually, I decided not to redo the Invisible Hand. The bigger version (110 cm) is very very ugly. And a smaller (70 cm but much thiner) one would be ridiculous. :/ So, my conclusion is that Curtis' IH has good compromises. Proportions are off, but many shapes are still good. The model look good to me. Anyway, I'm building something else at the moment. :p
  2. Yeah, it is the music of the Shagohod ; a kind of thank, actually. So yes, it fits well to the juggernaut. ^^ Yes. ?
  3. Thanks ! I had time to do the video this afternoon :
  4. I did not put it cause it is very ugly. And some version of the juggernaut do not have this tower.
  5. @ Kieldaman : Thanks for the translation. I understand most of things on EB. But when people use "unsual" words, I must say that I'm a bit lost. :S Thanks, Dobbyclone ! Yes, that is precisely what I think too ! I didn't choose the size. The wheels imposed the size. A general advise I may give to any MOCer : when you do a MOC, the first thing you should looking at is not everything you can do but the few things you can not do like you want. These few things very often give clear indications on how you must design your model. I didn't want the MOC to rely on the size, but details, right angles/proportions and "basic" functions that I thought the model should have (steering and rotation to 360° for all the turrets). Just like my Slave and the 7191 can move their wings (ok, on 7191 it is not a basic mechanism ) The textures (which is different from greebs actually) are also very important to me on that MOC. edit : BS gallery is now public : http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=468114
  6. Thanks everyone for your comment. :) Sorry but... what do you mean ? I've tried to use trans-black 1x2x2 panels, but with them, I could not do good joins anymore between all the fairing elements. So I eventually choose trans-black tiles with DBG parts. The result is quite good IMO. And I did this one by my self. I've been well taught on photoshop !
  7. Actually, the question which must be answerd is : Why should I make it bigger ? I see no reason to make it bigger. The current Juggernaut has all the features and specifications I wanted to includ.
  8. EDIT : Professional building instruction available here : You can also email me at setechnic@gmail.com /EDIT Hi everyone, Here is my latest MOC : a UCS Juggernaut. UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr With that MOC, my goal was to build something accurate, cumbersome, detailed and functionnal. But what was essential is that it had to be pretty small. Actually, the model is about 1,400 parts. Working on the textures was also a key to get a nice looking and detailed model. I used that pic a lot to design my model : The size of my model was more or less defined by the wheels 2903, like set 8098. These wheels were IMO the best choice for a Juggernaut. I choose to make fake suspensions and I included a real steering mechanism. The hog is hidden in a turret. Then, I added the details. I did not wanted all the surfaces to look empty so I added a lot of textures, just like what I did on the chassis. I added dark red lines like on the real model. I also added assymetrcial dark red touches in the same spirit as 10179, for the model not to be too neat. A detail I like : on the back, the use of mudguard to do the observation post. ^^ A few more pics : UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr UCS Juggernaut A6 by Anio, sur Flickr Short presentation of the model : Instructions coming soon ! :D
  9. About $30,000.
  10. This is one of the pics I use.
  11. Just do Pythagore : ( 150^2 + (29 or 30)^2 )^(1/2) = 152,8 L (average) 152,8 x 0,8 = 122,2 cm. 1.22 meters.
  12. Ok, ok, you are all right. Back to topic now. edit : Dobbyclone, I did'nt expect a cleverer message from you !
  13. The only big difference between the 2 models is indeed that my wings are made with 2 pieces, whereas 10221 has 1 piece. Kudos to TLG for that. The tubes outside is one of the irrelevant things I was thinking to. I'm not sure if you would say the same thing if you had worked more than 250 hours on a model. I'm sure that if Dmac had built his Shuttle in the end of 2009 or the the beginning of 2010, TLG would have say "Hey, c'mon, it is just a coincidence".
  14. They are tons of way to design a model. I have enough experience and skills in MOCing to know that. On the other hand, there are many irrelevant choices on that 10221. And I could write a very big post to proove my point on that new set. So could have make Cavegod with the 10215.
  15. Hey, be patient. In the next few months, be sure that Lego will produce a brand new UCS Venator ! steal the design of Thire5 and Atix Naid for a Venator. Shame on Lego.
  16. I really feel ripped off.
  17. With a small calculation, I found that the model should be 122cm long (mine is 124 ; they built it in the same way). The mini ISD is not very cute. At this size, a "brick" built model (I mean without hinged wing) would have been a smarter choice.
  18. Sorry for not editing my precedent message. But from what I can see with that first pic, it is absolutely certain that the bottomm wing have tubes outside (looks, studs are on the up side, with many 2x2 tiles). How hell is it possible to fail a design like that ?? Hope they will fix that. :-S If not, I fly to Danmark to teach them. :p
  19. Hi, Don't want to be pretentious (well, a little bit, ok ), but with that only pic, I'm pretty proud to see that my Executor looks better, by far. :p I'm curious to see how the rear side will be executed. Thanks for the pics anyway.
  20. So, Uwe Wabra (W4 BR4) did the 8071. edit : hum, not sure. "AP" match also with Alfred Petersen. And the way this 8071 is built is very similar to Alfred's design. Thus, the W4 BR4 is misleading.
  21. Of course there is a fake engine. Do you really think that this already poor set could only have suspensions and steering mechanism ?
  22. A UCS model does not need to be big to be detailed and well executed. I would even say that I am not very keen of the MOCs which are pointlessly big.
  23. He finally presents his model. And it is sooo awesome !! TLG has to hire him ! :p
