  1. Very interesting and clever design. With a lot of flow. Maybe a bit too part consuming here and there, but it is still a very, very nice model. You worked every single detail for it not to be necessarily like a real car, but to look good on a Lego car. This is what matter when building a Lego model. You are close to what Nathanaël Kuipers, the master of Lego supercars, could achieve. Brunojj1 is right when he explain the word simple. I think the model is simple. But it does not mean that it was simple to do. And I think it could be even a bit more simple with an even deeper integration of some elements here and there (like NK does on his designs). But that would take a lot of effort. Bravo. edit : damn, you don't have any FLickR gallery :o edit : instead of white 180° Technic angle connector, you can use the new driving ring axle joiner for a cleaner look.
  2. No. Photoshop.
  3. SBrick, legal or not legal, that is the question. Well, maybe it would be more relevant just to ask, SBrick, when is it going to work ?
  4. Think a bit. Analyze technical choices and I am sure you can figure out what's wrong with the specifications. :) edit : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=99511&st=2250#entry2257794
  5. Moding a product is certainly something fun. But this is not the point of a Lego product in the first place. I mean for example, when you buy a car, even if you can replace/repare all the wheels/tires yourself, you do not buy a new car without wheels... When you buy something (whatever it is), you are not supposed to do the job of the guy who you bought the product to... lol. The cabin is not really really not what I had in mind. No one cares about the cabine. Left or right cabine, it is the same thing for a toy.
  6. By analysing the current Technic line, I would say that the problem is way deeper than that. 42039 : poorly designed model. Looks like a sketch model where tons of improvements still had to be done before it is released 42042 : not a bad model, but specifications with a very obvious rookie mistake 42050 : this product is an insult to all skilled builders there are out there 42051 : canceled. plain and simple. It appears to me that the Technic team lacks some ressources to develop the models correctly. By ressources, I mean time, people, or skill, etc.
  7. Impossible. If it were like you said, 42050 would have been cancel 1,000 times.
  8. "U-joint non-linearity demonstration" And this is why there are CV joints...
  9. Another proof : I have seen the Lego list of 1H2016 provided to retailers, and the fire truck 42051 is not in it.
  10. I mean no fire truck 42051. I quote TLG : "This model will not be launched".
  11. For your information, 42051 has been canceled. This set will not be released.
  12. Selling 3,800$ a model that is not his own design is totally outrageous. I mean, the instruction is sold 5€. 5 EUROS. And the guy takes advantage of the model and charges 3,800$ to make money. I hope he won't succeed in selling it.
  13. I am pretty sure that the price of those tires will drop on Bricklink. Just be a bit patient. It is also possible to call the lego customer service and order tires only. I doubt a tire will cost more than 7 or 8€ there.
  14. True. Which make me say that I doubt we will ever see an official UCS version of it. :)
  15. Ok, thanks for the clarification. You told me sometime ago that a regular product take about 1 year to develop, and it is often shorter when it comes to Direct/collector models. Indeed, things are more flexible with that kind of product as they do not come with a whole wave of new product. Then this brings another question : why the release date was delayed so much ?
  16. That's curious. With the interview here on EB and in the manual, I thought the model was completed in July/August 2014.
  17. As far as I am concerned, people sell my MOCs instead of me.
  18. Mine is small. It is much closer to 10225.
  19. One word comes to my mind when I see this product : "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL !"
  20. Oh ! I didn't expect this MOC to get so much praise. :) Thank you guys. ;)
  21. True. I can see such things on my own design as well. Regarding the Slave 1, putting a simple vertical reinforcement on the DBG 1x6 brick solve the problem. To do so, designing the cockpit slightly differently might be necessary. Removing/changing the black plate 6x8 is probably an option (thus, the vertical reinforcement can go through and deep in the model). Swoping some hardly visible details in the cockpit against stability and reliability of the build is a very good thing.
