  1. Then I guess Bridgewater is a medium store, since this is the first time they'll be doing just one at a time. I personally hope the chair pieces are white when they arrive at my local store. I love me some white pieces! brown is also super welcome! chair pieces have many other uses than as chairs. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

  4. @Ikatt: wow! Thanks for the pictures! That's exactly what I was hoping for! So, it appears the "tummy" is constructed with a 2-1 tan 1-sided snot brick (very very useful. I'll be sure to grab as many of those as I can stuff in a cup!) Followed by a 2-1 black plate and then a 2-1 white cheese. Lovely parts selection here! I'm very pleased! And those white 1-2 jumpers. Also, super happy about those turntable parts! Me-yow! Also, it looks like they'll have both 1-2 black plates, and black studs, meaning that with the current selection, one can build this technique: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/tiammath/WIP/lddscreenshot15.png In black. Very good! Overall I'm quite pleased with the selection. I don't think I'll be able to visit this week, during double VIP points, but I'll certainly look into getting a cup or two while the train promotion is available. In other news, those of you near the Bridgewater mall store may be disappointed to hear that the panda and truck will not be released at once, but rather, the panda will come out first, and then replaced by the truck at a later date. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

  8. PAB cups are great value if you can stack the pieces well. And, as always, the largest size is the best value, again, when stacked well. The easiest techniques to really maximize your haul are sticking bricks together. You want to make sure your bricks are as tightly packed as possible, so what I do is I clip all the bricks I'm getting into a tower in the center (I believe 7-7 is the best width for this tower in a large cup. You need one brick layer of 6-6 beneath this, too) and then I make small "collumns" of 2-1 bricks or grass pieces or cylinder pieces or whatever else is convenient, and slip those in beside the tower. Then I just fill in the rest of the cup with stud pieces or whatever else is small enough. Depending on the pieces you get, you could get a lower price on many of them than even their bricklink price. Better, by far than the official price per brick from the Lego site, but them again, from both alternatives you get a more diverse selection of bricks from which to choose... and less effort fitting them all in a cup. Hope that helps! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  9. Do we have a list of the parts available from the Panda yet? Mostly I want to know what snot piece is used on the tummy. It looks to me like two headlight bricks, either tan or white. Both are welcome. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  10. I 100% agree! More female characters are a must! Particularly those with distinct characteristics and non-happy faces. With all the half-cyborg heads we've seen, not one has been female! Likewise there are very few "grimacing" or "serious" faced female figures, whereas there are an excellent selection of male faces like that-and many with grimace and face marks too! Good to know that they're trying to make popular ones common. It'd sick to have them as "rares" since then the total quantity is lower and they'll likely all get horded by army builders. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

  13. If I were to join, I would not be a very regular participant, since I'm very involved with AG, and have an otherwise busy schedule... but, if I did it would be Oleon. I love the blue coats, and a faith-based character would be distinct from my AG character (Science), and my (yet un-introduced) Historica character (Trade). I have a question: would Oleon's faith be real-life Christianity of some kind? (Catholicism?) Or would it be "a fantasy equivalent" my guess is the later. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. Re: Shakogate. So, I also noticed how benuded the poor imperial soldiers seemed to be in the chess set, as I too had hoped to purchase it for an "armybuilder". I brought this issue up to the Lego Store employee with whom I was conversing at the time, and he pointed out that for 10 dollars more, I could simply get 16 (should be 15, but he's pretty lax) accessories in a "build your own minifigure" box. He then explained that they had the shakos, the epaulets, and the backpacks in stock, if not out front, then in the back to be brought out by request (I don't know if this is the case in all Lego stores, but it is in Bridgewater Mall). If I so desire (which I might, come double points week) I could buy the chess set, then the 8 missing Shakos, and either 4 epaulets and 4 backpacks, or 8 backpacks and use my stash of extra epaulets from home to complete the set. That resolves the issue for me. Of course this solution doesn't change the fact that they're missing in the first place, nor does it solve the expensive accessories issue. Just the completion problem. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

  17. Ooh! I didn't know this thread existed! Very cool! I've been looking (mostly on google) for source pictures of pirate-Era carribean towns (port towns, fishing towns, etc...) but haven't had much luck. Does anyone know of any useful references in regards to this? ~Insectoid Aristocrat
