I think since TLG has been very detailed with its recent MFs (SW and non-SW), they won't resort to reusing old jedi torsos and will make new ones patterned to the jedi's attires in the CW series. I don't think there are regular clones, those are four specialized troopers = ARF, Commando, and Bomb-Squad (the orange-ish one)
-
From the line-up, it looks like they have been listening, and heeded, to fans' MF demands. But let's not take away the effort in design of the ships as well, we'll judge them better when some hi-res pics surface. One thing that bothers me, a lot of these 'newer' characters (Aurra, Embo, Vos, Shaak) made it as minifigs even if they just appeared in a couple of episodes, as opposed to regulars like Luminara, Ki-Adi(!), Padme(!!!), etc. It's either TLG has 'gripes' about them, or we'll be getting them soon in the 2011 second wave. (fingers-crossed)

For the nth time, they are prelim pics, some of my comments in blue.

I for one quite expected the ARFs to be CW, since they've regularly appeared in the series - and kids and most fans are more familiar with these 'newer' ARF troopers than the Ep.3 ones. So I'm happy, my Lightning Squadron will finally have the official ARF troopers. How I wonder if there are special markings on the helmet? Or are they just plain white? I'd want it to be all-white since it'll be better fit for customising with special prints or even for camouflaged types We'll still have to wait for the hi-res pics, but since you've already 'perfected' the V-Wing with your version, I know the official one will not be as good as yours, but let's give it a chance. Me too, I don't think there has ever been a year where there a lot of new MFs - and very cool ones at that. IMO, 2011 will be a much much better year than 2010. I've only bought two sets this year (ARC-170 and Luke's Landspeeder), but next year I might have to buy almost all of them (Ouch!)

Oh yes!!! Great prelim pics, now I am really excited about these sets! Thanks for sharing this Navy Trooper Fenson, always the reliable trooper! :wink:The T-6 shuttle looks pretty decent, but what I'm after for are the figs - those 3 new jedi + 1 old are sweet and must0haves! Can't wait to grab 'em all. Gotta love those BPs as well, I'm pretty happy with the Clone Trooper BP - four specialized troopers without regular ones, really nice. Now to have a closer look before commenting more.

You can't just stop teasing us don't you? Looking good AC, looking good.. Can't wait to see the finality of this MOC...

Really a shame, most likely Shaak and Vos will have the CW face, while Saesee might have a new rubbery head mold like Fisto/Plo. I agree, there is that danger of the commando helmet being oversized (remember this?), considering the real commando helmet is slightly stubbier/more box-like compared to regular clone trooper helmet.

Thanks for the review Oky, great as always. I never realized how clever the functionality of the dump truck was until I saw your demo in the review. This set is pretty average - a good source of parts and decent selection of MFs. The last shot was simply hilarious! I bet there are other 'candidates' deserving of a spot in the dumpster, I just can't think of one right now.

Thanks for sharing this Rob, these are truly accurate recreations of the iconic and historic WTC twin towers. The close-up shot reveals rather very clever building techniques which cannot be seen when viewed afar. Great job!

Nice little vignette Flare, I love the aerial attack pose of the Space monkey. I also like your concept of the purple planet and you represented it pretty well even in just a small a 8x8 plate. Good job!

Welcome to Eurobricks Andy D! That was a pretty interesting intro. It's good to hear you use lego as a means to satisfy your 'scientific curiosity'. How I wish I could build lego robots like you do, but I just don't have your 'scientific curiosity'. Instead, I use lego as a creative outlet, as seen in my MOCs. Well, hope you continue enjoying the site.

Welcome to Eurobricks LegoFreak5! So another Ohioan, you have a lot of fellows here. Enjoy the site.

Bonjour! Welcome to Eurobricks Laurent, hope you enjoy the forums. -
I'm not so sure about this but I think it may be possible that Cut was not the biological father but just a foster father of those Twi'lek kids (presumably from a Twi'lek father in a previouos marriage of the wife). Let me shamelessly defend my fave jedi (), Fisto would have easily defeated GG if it were not for the Magna guards, (remember he has already disarmed 2 of GG's lightsabers in a matter of seconds). And knowing the personality of Fisto, he is not the type to force the issue even if he can.

Considering the limited parts that you had, I think you did a pretty good job on this Imperial Shuttle. You got the basic shape and overall look right, never mind the minor inaccuracies as you could always improve on them when you have the right parts. Nice job Battle Droid! It's the mini-/midi-/micro- vehicles/ships season I suppose.

I do agree with this one, and not only are the Jedi members 'poorly misrepresented' in the series, but so are the jedi members' powers/strength with the force. It has been pretty inconsistent from the movies to the cartoon series to these current CGI series. One perfect example: Mace Windu. Mace Windu in the Movies = took some time and effort to defeat Jango; looked helpless together with the surviving jedi in the Geonosis arena Mace Windu in the CW cartoon = killed hundreds of droids in a rather effortless badass way Mace Windu in the current SW series = got trickedout by a measly bounty hunter (Bane) which easily escaped from him and Obi-wan The question is, what really is the right 'level' of power/Force-strenght of the jedi? Is it like in the movies or cartoon or CGI series? Sorry if this going a bit OT, just my 2 cents on the topic.

You're really getting good at these midi-scaled ships Masked Builder, nice job on these. I love the CTT, especially the wheels and how it functionally tilts - very clever build for a small-scaled vehicle. I'd agree with the mob, a bit of dark red would make it perfect, but it's already good as it is. As for the SLC, you got the overall shape right, but I think a SNOT build of the wings would have been better in terms of overall smoothness. And are those parts available in the standard tan color scheme of the ship?

Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators

I would prefer the Gallery over the MOC Index. Also, since the Gallery is relatively new and members are still unaware of its location, so probably it would be better to pin it on the LSW forum frontpage? -
This is a pretty interesting episode since it deals more with the clones, specifically the so-called "Deserter" in Cut's character. I think the simplest answer to the questions posted by Oky above is that Cut is simply what you call the 'bad apple' in the whole bunch, like the clone who was a CIS spy in Season 1. Even the Kaminoan's cloning process ain't that perfect and these clones with more self-decision 'springs up once in a blue moon'. I knew BARC speeders are not limited to dark red colors, so my blue-colored speeder bike has basis after all. This is a set that TLG should seriously consider making since there isn't an accurate brickbuilt BARC speeder around and I'm pretty sure it would sell like hotcakes if ever they release one. I agree having Rex in one of these wanted smaller BARC speeder sets would be great, since he's still exclusive to the AT-TE set.

Yeah, those two pieces were actually dark blue before repainting. It just wouldn't look right if I mixed the dark blue with the rest of the blue. And yup, the standard blue is the closest to the ARC gunship blue in the lego color palette.

Thanks for the great review Inky! As a baller myself who knows the ins and outs of the real basketball game, I'd say this is a pretty decent attempt to create a functional playable basketball set. The concept of the 'game' itself is rather interesting and unique unseen in most lego sets. But there are a lot of 'expected' issues, like the size of the hoop (I'd be MVP of our league if that's the size of our hoops ), dimensions of the court and backboard, etc. But the great thing about seeing this set is I now found another challenge - creating a brickbuilt basketball court (in the famous words of Michael Jordan: "For the Love of Game (and Lego)".

Wave-riders galore! I'm amazed that this set has not one, not two, but three of these beautiful wave rider boards. I love the simple yet functional build of the small cafe/building with the racks for the boards and lifesaver jacket, and the holding clips at the back. Thanks for sharing this classic review of a trully classic set 'The Cobra'!

For someone who have missed out the previous versions of the snowspeeder, this is the perfect set to finally grab the snowspeeder. But what limits me from getting this is the cave landscape - just doesn't cut it for me. The Wampa and the new-attired Luke are good MFs, but I agree it would have been even better if Han with the Taun-Taun were included, even for a higher price. But that's what's TLG tactic is all about - buy both sets to get what you want. So I'd be generous and give this set an average rating. BTW, Lovely review as usual Rufus.

Comprehensive, detailed, straight-to-the-point, crystal-clear photos, and professional presentation as usual - elements which makes Rufus' reviews one of the best in EB. Impressive job as usual Sir! Now to the set, at first I was not a fan of this set, but I'm quite surprised I appreciate it more now upon seeing this review. I think the cockpit's design is spot-on, and the folding wing mechanism is pretty neat. The minifig selection is great, among the batch I like the most the relatively rare and new ARC pilot (Capt. Kagi?) and the medical droid, which are both useful for MOCs. If not for saving up for the 2011 firrst wave sets, I might've pick this baby up. Lastly, I really love the comparison photos (Sidious-Sidious, ARC Pilots, Theta-RAS, Theta-Lambda) - really makes reviews (and MOCs) a hundred times better. And the opening pic is epic! I love it.

Happy 2nd Birthday to the Reviewers Academy! Congratulations and most importantly, a big thank you to all the dedicated teachers for teaching students like us to become better-equipped reviewers. Even though I have not yet started my first review (been busy with MOCs lately), I have learned a lot just by reading all the great tutorials in the Academy - it has helped me not only in set reviews but also in the presentation of my MOCs and as wells as appreciating the set reviews done by our peers. Here's a toast for more years of the Reviewers Academy to come! PS: I love the group shot of the teachers, they all look good together. I hope to see myself joining the ranks of these distinguished league of extraordinary gentlemen in the future. Cheers!
