  1. Least we forget that these scenes have appeared countless times in movies and literature. Most toys have always been copies of stories, legends, fairytales, real things...so you could find examples of every set that probably drew inspiration from someplace...That said...I'd have to say Lego copied Playmobil on this one
  2. As SlyOwl TV, movies and books related to the period help spark ideas. I get a lot of ideas from what other have done. I think I like that I want to try something similar. I also find that sometimes just laying out a plate and grabing some bricks helps. I've built things like my Naval Shipyard where I thought I was going to build one thing and then I end up building another.
  3. Here are 196 of them. I probably have about 215 or so. I went through a whole weird cannon phase a few year back
  4. All this speculation makes me a little dizzy. I hope I hope I hope Ihope!
  5. This is done in very much one of my favorite styles. It is a blend of the classic pirates theme with creative MOCing skill. You did an excellent job on this. It really looks beautiful. Infact, if I were a Redcoat I would want to take this little sea village from the spanish Great job. I really like this a lot.
  6. So they wore bike shorts? Next you'll be telling us Bonaparte wore a speedo in Eygpt.
  7. I believe it means: A PG-rated motion picture should be investigated by parents before they let their younger children attend. The PG rating indicates, in the view of the Rating Board, that parents may consider some material unsuitable for their children, and parents should make that decision. The more mature themes in some PG-rated motion pictures may call for parental guidance. There may be some profanity and some depictions of violence or brief nudity. But these elements are not deemed so intense as to require that parents be strongly cautioned beyond the suggestion of parental guidance. There is no drug use content in a PG-rated motion picture.
  8. Welcome aboard. Try to take it easy on the rum in the pirate forum. We're running low at the moment. We had the islanders over recently.
  9. But if she actually turned the king into a frog wouldn't that make her a real witch? Not that there is anything wrong with that
  10. Thank you William "SlyOwl" Wallace for that additional inspiration...Now where did I leave that sword?
  11. You've been MIA for a while...I thought for sure we'd captured or killed you!
  12. Nice update. I love the little 9 pounder or cannonade...the light and the bell. I'd have to say I like the top flag better. Really nice job...now if the Bluecoats could only build a ship that didn't roll over when they fired the first broadside they'd be in business
  13. As I look for any good occassion to don my Davidson Clan tartan kilt. I can honestly say the only thing that I would like more than getting new Bluecoats from Lego is getting Scotsmen from them. Thanks...Now I won't be able to sleep tonight!
  14. Wow. I have to say I am very jelous of your "lair". Great pictures and MOCs on both your pages. Look forward to seeing more of your creations so welcome!
  15. Because your collection is so wide ranging why not have a town display that shows an evolution from castle through colonial (pirate) to modern town to future? Just a thought. I love these large scale projects as I have one of my own going called the Port of Brick Royal. The pictures and updates are amazing. Keep it up.
  16. Having descended from Cherry Farmers in Northern California I have to say this is really awsome!
  17. She is progressing nicely under your command. On a side note we intercepted several French spies in Brick Royal smuggling copies of plans for Ubiquitous. I had the spies unceremoniously fired out of the batteries of Passage Fort. The copies have been destroyed.
  18. This is very impressive. Not my cup of tea but I really admire what you have done here and the imagination it took.
  19. Wow...I like me some big guns pa!!!!!
  20. Wow. Wonderful little village you have built there. All the details and action really create a lot of energy in the scene. It's like a medeival superbowl party! Great job. Love how you cobbled the streets.
  21. A great looking ship. I can't wait to see it progress. It will be welcome in the Port of Brick Royal anytime.
  22. I love the design but I think you should shorten it up by at least 4 - 6 studs and 2 studs narrower. It is very beautiful though.
  23. Great MOC. All the details are great. The grounds are so full of detail and interesting things to check out. You have so much going on the great thing about a creation of this size is you can change the feel so much just by having the minifigures doing different things. Well done.
  24. I like the new version even better than the last. All the details are really good. It is a little too tall for my taste but the scale really looks excellent. Can't wait to see the evolution continue.
