  1. You made me laugh so hard coke zero came out my nose (and that hurts). I think we will see the new Bluecoats along with a ship for them for sure. The question is will it be 2010 or 2011 and will they produce Blues and Reds at the same time. I think the Pirates line is an important one for Lego and I think they will want to produce a solid series to ensure that if they ever do put it back in the vault that this new line has helped continue the pirate legacy and build a base for a future third come back years down the road. I heard they will be making a forth Pirates of the Caribbean movie and if I were Lego I would want to make sure this line was active or I had that license when the movie came out. It will be a huge marketing boon for this line whether they have the license or not. They are probably kicking themselves that they didn't have this line active before the first movie came out.
  2. What a way to go. I think I would have blown myself up with that powder horn. Maybe mix rocks and shells in with it and then laid on it and set it off like a grenaide before I burned myself....and what did that poor tree ever do to anyone? Pirates...destructive to the very end.
  3. I just bought one of these last month. I haven't had a chance to put it together as I have been having fits for the last month trying to build the Capstan Inn. Another great review of another classic set. Thanks so much for taking the time to put these reviews together. It must take a lot of time and effort and you did a great job.
  4. I love this set. Great review. I have one and I always tell myself I should get another. A real classic. I haven't built her in a long time. Thanks for the trip back memory lane.
  5. She is looking much improved. Can't wait to see the finished project. Keep it up.
  6. Very cool. These scenes are always so much more work to put together than some people realize. You did a great job. A plain background would help, as others have advised me, and its true. I do find the big tires on a few of the figures heads to be a little off. They just look too big. I think the smaller tires work better if you have any of those. Great job though.
  7. That's a great scene. Very well executed. As soon as I saw it I new you had used that coll technic from that sail design. Awsome use of a great technic. Very cool.
  8. Happy to help. The two I am most familar with are these. The fist one is the new play area they added to the pool at the Disneyland Hotel The second one is the big one in the water by Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. Did I get it right?
  9. Nice build and very timely as the pirates seem to be gaining strength. I think the title says it all. You pirates better remember rope is cheap. Great job...it's like 17th century marketing campaign for safe waters.
  10. Well if those are the rules I'll follow them but I must respectfully disagree. When I post my MOC's I love it when people insert their own imagination into the scene. Maybe others feel differntly but I don't see these types of comments as clutter since they relate to our interprotation of the story of the MOC. These types of running dialogs keep me comming back to a moc which keeps the post active and brings it to the attention to others who see it for the first time.
  11. I love it! If I am not mistaken I recognize one of the redcoats as the one who escaped from the shark. Not surprising that the bluecoats have so many questions. Hard to understand how to properly survive a ship wreck when your ships never leave port. nice MOC.
  12. see you all agree. One bluecoat ship and four pirate ships for one redcoat soldier. That might do it but I don't think you have enough ships or men to handle say 50 redcoats.
  13. I like that powder horn. Good job. A stranded redcoat would have built an advanced civilization by now. Silly pirates.
  14. True but you keep forgetting he's a redcoat! We train for tougher stuff than that.
  15. Really...if you calculate the angle of trajectory of the shark and multiply by the speed it would take to cause the shark to fly that far out of the water and divide by the time it will take the soldiers to fall ...you have to recognize the way this plays out is the shark crashes head first into the rocks and the soldier swims over and grabs that row boat and paddles as fast as he can for the fort. Its practically a scientific foregone conclussion...
  16. I am going to have to get back to you on that.....breath Whiskers.....
  17. That may be going too far...they are pirates afterall. They probably sold all the shot and blackpowder for a weeks worth of drunken debauchery. On the other hand I wouldn't want to be the one to test the theory.
  18. I wanted to break this rule too by saying, "my cat can eat a whole watermelon".
  19. With the set names I call them by that when I build them as sets or refer to them as sets so others know what I am talking about but as soon as I change anything I give it a new name. Also I don't use the character names for any purpose other than for reference. I guess I just don't like the idea of Lego back story...feels to me like marketing nonesense. But to each their own when it comes to these questions.
  20. I've never read the comic and could care less what it says. Why should the comic set anything in stone. If something was going to be set in stone I would say the history books would be it. I think every story that a fan of Lego creates is just as valid as any other story including one produced by Lego.
  21. Very nice. The shark bursting through the water would not be a site I would want to see but I am confident that Redcoat soldier can handle one shark.
  22. What a truely wonderful design. This might be the best brick built ship I have ever seen in terms of capturing the classic lego feel. This thing just screams classic lego. I imagine if that new little builder pirate set grew up into a missive ceation this would be it. Awsome job! It is very impressive.
  23. hmmm. What's the word I'm looking for?
  24. Yellow for sure...though I do use all sorts for diversity.
  25. Fabulous display. I love the variety of all the buildings and styles. The raised platforms etc. really add additional depth to the display. The sunken ship is really nice. I'll have to look at all the rest of the pictures when I have more time. Great job you all did in bring this display together.
