I like how even though there's no working function, there's still a gear resting around the head area... just 1 more nod to the 2001 sets.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- SPOILER ALERT !
JINZONINGEN73 replied to SWMAN's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I don't like it when continuities in franchises are messed up. I really don't. A new series or movie comes out and BOOM, we're told, "Ok, THIS is canon, THAT isn't... this is... this one might be..." UGH. And it's happened with Terminator, bigtime. But even though Sarah was told Judgment Day was in 1997, and it wound up being in 2003, and NOW the series is going on in the current year of 2008... ...it's not all "impossible" yet that these things could still be woven together. This show has time travel goin' on, with paradoxes breaking through. I imagine by the end of the series, and we KNOW everything IS going to go to hell at some point, that John could very well end up back where he was at the start of T3, just in time for T4. My biggest issues are John says at the start of SCChronicles that the events of T2 started when he was 13. But T2 happened when he was 10. Oh well. It's still all a fun ride... It doesn't bug me anywhere NEAR as much as the alternate realities of Star Wars, Transformers and 9 million other LAME examples for continuity insanity. (Speaking of time paradoxes... was I asleep when it was explained why Reese didn't remember being analyzed in the future?!? I like... didn't see where that was made clear.) -

Same here. I mean, I KNEW what happened, but I also felt very strongly that some final editor went and made it less graphic, panning the scene into a WTF just happened type thing. I was right lol. I hope that since they're censoring "hell" from the previous episodes that all the recent lightsaber deaths haven't resulted in a crackdown on onscreen death. My eyes have seen a LOT of last-minute censoring in anime and movies. I'm TRAINED to spot it when stuff gets watered down lol. Lol @ the Jamaican accent. It fits, not too wonky. Will Asoka die? Hell yes she'll die. I'm guessing they're saving her up for some dramatic event in which she croaks and Anakin starts acting more like Vader. Up until now, he's been a goody-goody... way too much so. They've GOT to toss a life-altering thing in there and her getting knocked off would be a good way to do it, if done right. Are all those statues in Grievous' lair depictions of him in his former life? (Is pissed that we didn't see all of his face underneath the mask...) It was a good episode... my only gripe being the heavy feelings that the guppyhead was doomed. Too much placement of foreshadowing. Maybe little kids were suprised, but I don't think many of us who've seen 8 million scifi shows before were "shocked". Or maybe it's just that those GIANT eyes look like you could take the person out with no more than a poke from your pinky finger. Wasn't impressed with his suit, either. The character design made him look too much like Admiral Akhbar. Ok, he's a strange alien, but differentiate his clothing a bit as if it were a human.. geez... -
Story? Meh. Maybe it was good, maybe it wasn't. You see enough scifi junk a few decades and it all starts looking the same. Now the sets? Pretty much beautiful parts piles. And that doesn't mean squat unfortunately when the quality control drops down to points you'd see out of the plastic from Chinese knock-off toys that you'd pick up at a flea market. I'm hoping. I really, really am hoping, that the bad plastic we had the past 2 years (or more) was just cost-cutting in anticipation of jacking quality up for the impossible-to-fail 2009 sets.

And that'd suck. Good thing they're stickers. One can throw them out immediately upon opening the package and be able to use the part they were to go onto as parts for mocing. Lol @ Da Tuma. If Jinzo doesn't nab them first. Bricklink, here I come! These hands are either love or hate it seems. Sure, they're not STUPENDOUSLY sculpted or anything, but they're symmetrical and they get the job done... to say nothing of the weird, non-handy things one might use them for.

So I see! http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?aut...showentry=51830 But hey, even if you're not the first to review them on BZ, there's no reason not to be first reviewer here or on other sites. Question... you've had them awhile, yes? It's 7:11AM here and the sun's barely coming up. But in your pic, it looks like it's sunnier out... or is that LED light?

That new neck piece is beautiful.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles -- SPOILER ALERT !

I don't quite get why a Terminator body was wanted so badly by the liquid chick. The Turk is the brain, so isn't the body just the body? ...Or maybe a Terminator has more thought nodules inside than just the brain chip that was smashed?... -
This IS your best moc to date. It's a bit beastly, for a moth (nuts... I guess there was no curled Indy whip for his mouth), but it looks good. Would love to see it done in an innocuous manner.

Glad I don't have any 3D programs on this. I still feel dirty after the last Paint project. >__o (I was laughing while doing it though..) I dunno, I'm diggin' the new ones. Thet're not as big and annoying... strictly a projectile launching device. But they're not... you can actually use them as building parts, way more easily than with Zamor launchers. I think I like these Thornax ones most, with the one Zamor cannon Ignika came with second, for it's (symmetrical) bulkines to use in larger mocs. Wish I had a bunch of those... Beyond that, EVERY OTHER LAUNCHER can burn in hell.

Finally got around to watching the last episode. Hardly a fight going on, but it was nicely done in my opinion. Not quite sure why Cameron went crashing through a window though... it's not like she was thrown there by anyone. I'm not seeing the tactical advantage to such an action, unless it was the absolute remainder of energy and she felt she HAD to get to Sarah so her body could have time to reboot and whatnot. Very odd... -

And again in this last one. I'm guessing death by lightsaber is going to only become more and more popular on the show as it goes on. Well, there is a quicker and easier way. And in my case, the only way. : D -

Was anyone else seeing Princess Fiona (ogre) every time Luminara Unduli came on screen? The face, the body type... the kickassery skills... -

Actually, I think I'll stop putting things in spoiler tags. I mean, you're right. The topic's title is a big enough sign, yes? -
Lol, ok, ok. So Lewa, the green guy, was a prankster who acted all young. Then Rascus, the green guy from Knights Kingdom was a prankster (a rascal, lol) who acted all young. NOW I'm supposed to swallow that this green dude is too?

That Tarduk digs up. "Y helo thar, Mr. Ignika." Liiiike turning bad people good and or handing powers to the currently powerless masks. See? Greg's not lying that their masks are powerless... but it's probably going to be Mata Nui choosing whose he wants to make "interesting".

Feels like it's going to be a Chronicler thing with him.
-
What? I'd nev... *bong!* <__< >__> God damn it... ::shoots self:: I'm hoping the next waves of set design don't go into a downward spiral all Nuva-like after a year like 2001 did.
-
But god damn it, it certainly is fun trying to be.

No, the movie took place before the junk dealer episode. He's lightsaber food. -
My problem is that a LOT of pieces broke right from the start. So even if I weren't a mocer, I'd STILL be pissed and feeling burnt. I'm shocked by it, really I am. Playing with Lego is becoming a CHORE, and it's not from a lack of enthusiasm! I don't even know if I have the fire in me to do BBC #51. I DID get all worked up, but I have parts from Inika all the way up till now just freaking cracking. If it weren't for the kittens crawling around my room, climbing up things and swatting Lego pieces, I'd probably not even have thought of mocing right now. Don't get me wrong, Lego is VERY good in the replacement parts department. But with these TONS of defective parts, why should I have to? I'm not an employee of Lego, I'm just a guy who likes playing with their junk! If I can't play with their junk without it shattering in my hand, ... ... ...exactly why would I be buying more sets again? And even when I FINALLY send off my annual "long list of broken shit" to Lego, I KNOW that even some of those replacement parts are going to instantly break too! So like what, do I keep crawling back to them crying? Do I overstate the amount of broken parts in an estimation of how many it'll take to get an unbroken initial amount? Do I just say screw it and start buying Megablocks? Maybe I could take up clay sculpting, or start drawing again. I really don't know what to do. I do know I'm going to wind up Bricklinking those new hands, definitely. I don't care if I have to buy 20 before I get one good pair. There's like 10 years of handicapped mocs here waiting for freaking prosthetic hands that should've been here from the beginning.

Yah, caught that yesterday. Watched the movie (finally?) after having just seen the episode before the last. -

I don't feel the "slowness" that other people reference with some episodes, but I do admit the last one was a little "weird". In being apologetic of it, it might not be a matter of running out of material, but in adding to Cameron's character in a way they otherwise couldn't. It really drove home that even though she has moments where there might be a heart, her programming will always override it. Also neat is the way you have everyone else in the show running around the backs of others doing their own little secret operations the others don't need to know about, and here Cameron gets hers too. If I could shoot this episode down though it's in this... I can't STAND tv shows and movies where "impossible" coincidences pop up just to move a story along. In this case, ALL by accident. No. NO. Storytelling like this is just an insult to one's intelligence. Still, quick robot fight redeems it somewhat, but... ...I hope they don't do anything like this again. It's probably the first time I really had anything bad to say about the show. -
It would just be some kind of sick awesome if they give MataNui a Mata 2001 torso, along with some clever new part(s) that make it not ridiculous toward the underside. HOW awesome would that be?!? Never happen of course, just sayin' Seriously though, I don't care about MataNui's -colors -weapons -mask -ancient symbols -his ANYTHING. I just want Lego to start making ball sockets that don't megablocking break. I'm so sad... I'm here picking up my Lego bins because I'm getting frisky lately to join in on a few contests... ...and these SHIT pieces from Phantoka and Mistika are disintegrating. Perhaps that's even WHY I haven't been mocing or buying Lego sets the past few months. The last thing I remember (lol), I bought a bunch of Phantoka and Mistika canister sets... aaaaand the ball sockets broke, often the first time I snapped them together. Yes. Yes, I'm sure that's EXACTLY why I've been out of it awhile. It's like when you buy a cool, expensive action figure, but then feel one of the joints go smush instead of turning right... you get spooked (rightfully so, it's broken) and just put it up somewhere to display. So yeah, I'm here having fun building again, but then all the newer parts continue breaking, right on the circle where the ball pops in. Unacceptable. It truly makes me stop building and go do other things. For months. (lol?) It's disheartening. It really is. I can't believe they changed the design to make them even THINNER last year! WTF. Not only thinner, but now incompatible to put a 1x1 disc inside the outer circle! WTF! I wanted to rush out and snag these Glatorian at first sight... but I think I'll cool my jets instead, to see if reports from others come back that they're still all awful in the ball department.

Oh hey! I beg to differ on these McDonalds sets! I see that a few of them have removable weapons and projectiles. No shocker, Gorast seems to be the best set even as a Happy Meal toy, what with pop-off wings. In fact, that one figure alone has me wanting to go to McDonalds to try and get one (as many as possible). It's literally been YEARS since there was a Happy Meal toy to get me to do that. (Are these out yet? ...I forget...)
