I so very want a pirate ship whose hull and mast are made COMPLETELY with trans glow in the dark bricks. I mean come on, it's in the show! Pirates are hot in pop culture right now, and how many times in various cartoons do you see glowing green "ghost" pirate ships? Chop chop, Lego. Make a glowing pirate ship! (And I DON'T mean just one or two glow bricks tossed onto a brown thing!)

Following the front-paged news of a crystal-mining theme in 2009 was also this info on where Bionicle is going:

LEGO reveals new line - Power Miners
JINZONINGEN73 replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So Lego is bringing hands out for Bionicle characters in 2009, and NOW the other thing I've been bitching for, an underground mining theme is coming too?!? Man, if they have tons of trans and use a UV blacklight element to light the sets up, I'll KNOW they've been listening. Which is fine by me. -
NICE. Then again, keep'em, and use them as something entirely un-handlike.

::runs to buy rights to potential site "GZPower.com":: Ground floor, baby. GROUND FLOOR.

Yeah, Lego is mad (pfft... supposedly ) about these good pics being leaked (because, you know, only the bad ones were supposed to in August lol) but for some reason went all crazy because the text of the list was released. Go figure?
-
There's a few of them: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=154688 They're not really bootlegs though... I mean they ARE... ugh. Lol, they've messed with the original molds just enough to not be called "bootleg", but they're DEFINITELY "knock-offs".

Same. I look at (all) Bionicle sets not as action figures, but as armor accessory packs. Even their weapons are rarely used by me as weapons. Any of you old enough to remember Saint Seiya? You had an action figure that had MEGA-poseability , and they came with a set of shiny diecast metal armor that, when configured cleverly (usually with the aid of a blank, undetailed core shape underneath), it'd make like animals and stuff. Then you could disassemble the armor creation and put it all over the action figure. That's how I look at these new sets too, cleverly configured armor merely meant to resemble an action figure. Except there is no action figure, I have to make that. And that's the hard part, where the "building" comes in, not in just taking a set, swapping out a part and changing a color or two to add a point of mobility or to "fix" Lego's last-minute cost-cutting errors.

Nom-Arms: The Newest Agents Villian!

AND that's just... ...very popular with the ladies. Props on the torture rack, too lol. -
Very inspiring stuff. I'm not a big building builder... but ancient Japan is something that just has a nice, simple look to it, which your moc has captured. Makes one want to go and do a giant, wrap-around house, complete with rock garden outside. Very nice job.

You forgot the red 2 + axles. Also, he needs to be dark bley and silver. And the Piraka torso would be backwards, of course. Shakar No, no, the mask has to be asymmetrical, to make sure it's no good for mocers. And the launchers have to be the megablocking rubber squids. The feet have to be the retardedly huge ones with spikes coming off all over them. Various body parts need to be swirled with white like Hahli Inika. Oh, and his middle limbs are those bent-up Bohrok arms. And if they REALLY wanted to see the wrists flowing, his torso would be a hollow chest plate from the Metrutoran.
-
Oh no, they ARE projectiles after all... they might very well be rubber. Damn I hope you're wrong.

How's Annie? Still my favorite design, and way better than the Toa females so far: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1493656 How's Annie? How's Annie?

A good point AND you have David Lynch as an avatar. Wowie! Really though, China and a good few neighboring countries are goldmines for the bootleg fun. Errrrrr, scourge. ;)

Indeed. These images are expected for more around October than August. But hey, Lego's internal security is total dog poo. EVERY time there's a new wave, we ALWAYS get leaked pics. They just can't seem to get their stuff together, can they? Why, isn't it just SAD how often things are leaked online? Every time, man, EVERY time! Why, if it's not releasing WHOOPS! catalogs to buyers too soon, then it's WHOOPS! uploading the images to their own website for the public to see! What an accident! ... ... ...Of course, I think the above is false. I think this is no more a "mistake" than it ever is. It's called "viral marketing"... running an ad campaign while saying you're not. And think about it, if I'm wrong... then wow, Lego is a billlion dollar business that has security leaks of their products EVERY year. You know how ridiculous this sounds? lol If anything, the person in charge of "leaking" the shitty images ducked up and released the good ones instead. Pure speculation, of course, but seriously... lol.

Yeah, here in the US they do a fairly decent job of eliminating bootlegs. But elsewhere (China!) they just don't give a damn, the lawmakers I mean. It's like this for ALL products though, not just Lego. You could go into many a toy or video store in Hong Kong and nearly be GUARANTEED that the majority of the stock is pure bootleg. Just for kicks, what sets are you seeing knocked-off, and what store(s) are you seeing them in? (And what country?) Sometimes bootlegs are so wretched or weird that they warrant purchase, I must admit.... : p

I SO want that snowflake guy. The 2-part flake is going to be so neat in mocs I think. So much trans-blue this coming wave, isn't there? I wonder if it's the trans light blue that glows under a blacklight a whole lot, or the poopier type. Depending on it's glowiness, I'll either buy one or two or a freakin' shitload.

Someone beat us to it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2784528325/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2784527245/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2785379994/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2785378944/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2785377776/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2785376616/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/2784521797/

Hey, anyone ever see early Lego pics taken down from Flickr? That might be a place to rehost stuff without fear. Maybe? (Better do it in a fresh new account if you choose to do it... you never know.) Names and storylines aside, I'm getting a few of the black guy, for his black hands... the blue guy, for trans blue parts... the lime guy, for all that sweet lime... ...seriously, I really like what I'm seeing here. There could be more waist articulation goin' on, but big deal, it can be moced in. Some more new feet would be good to, but still... mocing fixes that. I'm impressed. But they BETTER NOT change too much by the time we see the actual production models. I'll be pissed if the things I like go away.
-
I can't tell from the pics, but I sincerely hope those new hands allow the axle to go ALL the way through, not just stopping halfway. Even so... it's a welcome part that's worth adjusting to. Lol... 3 fingers. Most cartoony. But again, still welcome. As psyched as I am for these new sets, I still want to get a few more (well, duplicates) of the bad guy Mistika. Not the heroes of course, they're pretty lame. Sad fact: Lego thinks people actually like THEM officially releasing new pics instead of fans get fired up and happy seeing them 6 months in advance. Strange, backwards thinking, but they really do believe this.

Hands! Bionicle! I swear to christ, if I was a girl I'd be squeezing my nipples right now. Never shall a Riotflea have simpy circles for hands ever again! I feel like making a gif of me yelling, "megabluck YEAH!". Screwit, that'd just take time away from me actually yelling it for real. I'm really liking what I'm seeing. The zamor-sized things with holes all over them... sweet Hades what you could moc with just that part. O__O All those parts in all those nice colors. And yeah, finally, the things that SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE BACK IN THE THE SLIZER/THROWBOTS days, HANDS. I have no doubt in my mind that if one were to go back in time and have Lego put those hand elements on the Slizers, that THEY might have been as popular as Bionicle. Face it, things were VERY stupid for VERY long in regards to this. Like when the first Bionicle movie images came out, you see Tahu Nuva with hands just like this,,, but then you get the set and it's a BALL JOINT?!? Man, Lego took their freaking time, but they finally made them.

With rare exception, BZ voters usually go crazy and vote all wacky and make your head get all hot and hurty with pulsing veins on your temples having blowouts with blood shooting out. Kids, man. There's too many damn kids. ... ... ...and the Lightstone Rifle is neat-o.

lol@ the classic minicar redo's being better in some ways, but then a step backwards in others. Beachcomber's arms were better before, now there's kibble where his hands used to be.
-
Ew, I see it now too lol. missed that. Oh well, maybe he had a bad day today and our complaining just set it off. Anyway, They started getting Mistika in at the Walmart here, but there were only Tahu and Gali. (What a choice? lol) We had to go back there again later and then there was also Onua and Mr. Yellow. After getting a few mean looks from employees for looking into boxes of Lego they hadn't unpacked yet, I asked if they had "the white and the green ones", to which they said they never came in! Yes, I'm highly skeptical to the concept that only 4 of 6 arrived. : p Yeesh... looking at Gali on her package... dreary, unfun stuff going on there. Tahu's thrusters and wings are "okay", but ...eesh. Onua's kind of bare looking and the wings and shield he comes with ALSO already come in Mr. Mosquito's set too.

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...

40X3. The 6 Doctors (Suggested Title) 201 231108 By Terrance Dicks Rumoured that an extra special story will be written for the 45th anniversary to be broadcast on the 23rd November 2008 starring Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Tom Baker and David Tennant with special appearances by other guest actors (Eccleston?). Alternately this special may appear as a Children in Need extravaganza. With Peter Davison and Tom Baker confirming they would return for a cameo if asked, this is looking more and more likely. Fingers crossed! I love sylvestermccoy.com ...seemed on the ball with a lot of their alleged "predictions".
