Geez, sorry for (still) not quite understanding something. You'd think we like purple in our Lego sets or something.
-
Lol, it's like we're back in medieval times and only KINGS can afford to have purple dye. X D

I LOVE them! And if they're more glow in the dark than lime, I'm going to have to have to start robbing people on the street to buy multiple multiple multiples of them. Though I won't get my hopes up, they're likely lime. Still love the hell out of them though. And I really didn't like Rock Raiders at all.

My brain's not working right... ...So they're killing purple because they can only do some types of pieces using a specific mix while merely only being able to do other shades of purple due to other parts requiring a different mix? If I'm wrong, ignore the rest of this post. So what? Do purple wherever you can here and there. No need to kill all shades outright, especially since there's obviously a demand for it.

I still hate the Toa Mistika, perhaps even WORSE now that I've seen review pics of them. Well, the HEROES anyway. All 3 bad guys are great parts sets, of which I had little doubt at any time. I do agree that Tuma is a decent set (again, as parts) and it's a decent enough action figure to reel in the fanboy kiddies. I just like... I have nothing bad to say about 2009. I'm not seeing anything I consider a terrible mistake or "unfortunate" in any way. And christ... I didn't even feel like that with 2001! The only thing uncertain is if other content (shitty movie, books or comics) might detract from the experience. But from the standpoint of just looking at these 2009 set pics... mighty Hades things are looking GREAT!

Is that not really close to this guy's face or what? http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=934923

I personally found the moc lacking in blood. Needs a few minifigs with those scared, crying faces running away with their arms up. I wouldn't have even realized what was going on unless someone had told me. ::goes back to building mecha with female genitals::

No, I'm guessing it's KIDS. The 2009 catalog images were leaked in late August, kids migrated from more annoying Lego websites to discuss them here without persecution... ...then it became "old" news and the kids had to go back to school because vacation was over. That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it. There's really not much question that kids are a bigger part here, year after year. There's not many Bionicle sites out there that let them talk about new stuff without being banned, much less cursing while doing so. When you look at page views and such, you just can't deny that Bionicle is a larger draw than other Lego lines at times: http://www.flickr.com/groups/818883@N25/ EDIT: Looking at EVERY other website I regularly visit, Lego AND non-Lego, it's the USA at the top every time. -
I've got purple parts from as far back as 2001 and have Bricklinked nearly every damn purple or dark purple part (heavily) off Bricklink since then.Seriously, I haven't seen problems with: --color anomalies --plastic integrity --aging of any sort It's one of the reasons probably that I like building with it. These parts ARE more stable than the chronically ailing white and other colors. This all has to be just the cost for "easy" quality and them not feeling the need to pay up. Maybe there's tons of errors that are thrown out that we never see, I dunno'.

Well I don't know about happy, cake filled, good, or any of the above, but there was puking from an unknown virus that slammed me out of nowhere. And marital distress. And... well, at least there was a Bionicle Gorast and an Exo-Force Deep Jungle in there somewhere. Ask me how my Birthday i$ next year. I promi$e it will be $o much better. Thanks, people.

The best scenario is of course that Mata Nui gets bored of the Toa, leaves to go to another planet and watch gladiators fight, but loses the bets he places SO bad that he has to sell off most of his body and STILL needs to fight in the ring himself so the loansharks don't take what little he's got left. And then there's his drinking problem to support...

lol what You too? X D Ares Scrrotum would also do a good job I think. Or maybe Venis Perrineum.

Y'know, as I look through my parts bin and Brickshelf folders, I realize this actually hits my fun with Lego even harder than the gray / blay situation did. WAY more so. Yeah, clearly purple has been a big part of my enjoyment with Lego. It is also CONSCIOUSLY one of the reasons I go into the Lego aisle at the toy store... JUST to see if any sets have got purple in them. Bad move. Bad, bad, bad move...

I've got a discount food store near me that gets all the banged up / discontinued merchandise from larger chains. They have energy drinks of all sorts for 25CENTS, stuff selling in other places for $2 a pop. Long story short, I've been drinking the stuff a LOT lately, but today wound up throwing up and feeling ill. I'm guessing it was the overdose of processed (worthless) vitamins and high-fructose corn syrup. Good god that sounds tasty.

Yeah, I'm not lookin' forward to rough-surfaced 1x1s. Those, at the very least, I hope remain smooth.

(Grabbed my post here from BZ... pay special attention to Darth's post) What the... wait a minute... purple in ANY shade is gone now? ANY shade?!? I mean, I really grew a disliking for the Bionicle 2001 style purple, but these newer dark purples were VERY good to look at. This is pure insanity, and tells me that one of my favorite colors will NOT have me going to the Lego aisle to see if any sets have it included. Lol... oh man. So THIS guy... he's the one who made our sets look bad with the wretchedly-colored pins. He's the guy telling us "purple is gone". (LOL?!?) And I should somehow be surprised he also does not know what the color "teal" is? What the... just... what... how in the heck did he get this far in such a big company that's INTENSIVELY about "colors"... ...without knowing WHAT THE COLOR "TEAL" is??? Lego, get this guy outta' here, turn our axles black again and bring back (dark) purple.

Aw, you guys keep saying there's new pics, but it's just the same ones on here. http://flickr.com/photos/29805279@N06/ I wonder what Kevin on Brickshelf gets from Lego for deleting images as they ask him to?
-
(Only sees pic with Batman, Robin and top hat guy) Funny... the Oz promotion has a top hat guy too. And a Mr. Freeze lookin' guy. I dunno... from a business standpoint, I can see why Lego doesn't want actual, buildable "sets" in Happy Meal toys. Because duh, mom and dad can just go, "But we already BOUGHT you a Batman Lego set, at McDonalds!". Likewise, the small parts often involved can also be a legal issue. Now you make a FIGURE with hardly any parts and no buildable surfaces and both bases are covered. Still, they SHOULD at least put one larger, totally Lego part in there that can be built with... in this case, like a bat signal with 4 studs on it or something, ANYTHING. If these figures are a few inches high, that'd be kind of cool, like mini statues. I mean shit, if one can justify buying a cold-cast porcelain statue of minifig X-Wing pilot Luke, then why not some smaller plastic, action-shot depictions of Batman?
-
Good estimations as to what kind of sets they are can be made from the way they're listed like on that list, so that's something. There's something so funny feeling about Mata Nui as a canister set, like he went to another world to observe a different race by mixing in with the lower class. If that's the case, that's kind of pretty awesome.
-
Ugh. I just had to move again, putting all my parts in the basement back into boxes, just waiting for some bastard to bite me. Under normal circumstances though, MOVE YOURSELF TO A NEW ROOM, BUY NEW SETS, RETURN IN THE FOODLESS COLD OF WINTER.

I'm just wondering how Lucas thought I'd pay money to see the last two movies after watching the one with the bad-acting kid and the black slave Binks character. Likewise, how could one be expected to not feel embarrassed watching that "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" scene?
-
People USED to say it was ruined forever, but after seeing the new 2009 pics, I'd say the majority of people really like what's coming up, be it called Bionicle or Glatorian. So this topic is therefore kind of... outdated. Closing.
-
OOF. Yeah, that's him. Look at that cool jet mode. Just look at it. And the color scheme... cool. But that bot mode, wtf? How can stuff like this happen these days? And I thought Titanium Soundwave's pelvis situation was evil. This trumps it completely. On a side note, Jazz, Snarl and the evil cycle animated figure has shown up here finally.

LEGO reveals new line - Power Miners

I dunno', but I'm going to laugh my megablocks off if I see this old idea I had utilized: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1945068 -
I'm not really into this sequel, as the first movie had me retching in front of my computer, but I do wonder if Hasbro's going to make the sequel toys not suck as hard. I'm there looking at a cool black and neon green jet in the toy aisles, then I look at the back of the package to see the bot it turns into... and it's a bow-legged freak that made me think back to the days of Gobots. Inexcusable design flaw. Horrific, for it being 2008. I dunno'. I'm guessing there'll be more of an effort to appease the fans that were disenfranchised the first time around... maybe the fact it's not being called "Transformers 2" means they want to get the first one out of their minds? (Still no verification of a gestalt in this, is there?)
