  1. Same. Before, you'd have SIX freaking clones, all on the same team. Then MOOOOOONTHS later, SIX freaking clones of the enemies. Why, that's just silly, it is. Now, you have stuff you can buy right off the shelf and go to war with. And think, what about the poor kids who can only purchase Bionicle during Christmas or when they get birthday money? Depending on the month they were born, they might never get either the heroes or the enemies. That's kooky. Even more, the 2 different factions almost HAVE to end up looking different than each other, so if you don't like a certain design, you might give Lego a second chance that fiscal quarter by having the other faction be cool enough to get you to buy'em. If all the "matoran" this time were just 6 guys with jetpacks, it would've sucked. Luckily, there were guys with wings instead sitting right next to them. My ONLY fear in the current pattern is that when you don't have 6 cloned canister guys all in different colors, you might not get alot of the more desirable mocing parts in different colors in a timely manner. And that's BAD for Lego. Still, I think the "instant war" aspect steamrolls over that one problem.
  2. Yeah, the're still alive at the end of the episodes (well, at least the ones aired so far spoiler spoiler spoiler) but then they leave, lose their ability to move, etc etc... It's like, why would it take many episodes later for them to hook back up with their respective teams? It's like the writers (or maybe Hasbro) aren't "ready" for them yet, but understand they need to show that they will be characters in the future. In any case, I'm loving TF:A. Sure, it looks like american Teen Titans stuff and not anime, but they've done a great job on it. The amount of throwback gags to G1 are incredible in volume. I was watching the newest one, "Velocity"... and was looking at the symbol on the side of the trailer that the illegal street racing orchestrator had... if I'm not mistaken, the symbol is what the minicars in Brazil had on them in the 80's, instead of Autobot or Decepticon symbols lol. What an absolutely abstract thing to resurrect for a G1 homage! It shows that real knowledgeable people / probably fans are at the helm. I especially love the terrorized pregnant Carlie and her husband Spike scenes, along with the little 2005 Daniel scenes of earlier episodes. X D Great stuff... Now if some Animated toys would just pop up on the shelves already instead of all these megablocking ugly movie guys stilll hanging around. I hope it happens soon, too... I don't want the Animated stuff to come in, only to be quickly obliterated by an influx of Movie 2 garbage. >__<
  3. That third pic is the stuff epic avatars are made of.
  4. ::finds last episode of Season 2 Animated leaked on Youtube:: Yup, just as I thought. All I'll say to those who don't look at spoilers... I am REALLY thinking it's lame how every other episode introduces a new guy, but then they get "lost" by the end of the episode. Soundwave, WreckGar, ***** *******, etc etc...
  5. You, the one with Bonk as your avatar... man, the Conker boss sounds over the top, but not after one's played the japanese shooter "Toilet Kids" on the PC Engine (Turbografx16) system.
  6. I'm married. And women... well, they sometimes get mad for no apparent reason. Rest In Peace, Soulfeast. V__V
  7. Dude... dude, you HAVE to go to it wearing a cardboard suit that looks like Mata Landmass. Hey, I was looking at the boxes in the Lego aisle today, and noticed that on one of them it shows a picture of the island, but it also shows the tapered BOTTOM of the island, as if it were floating.. so if it IS a part of him, then like what, it connects to a larger hunk of earth beneath it?
  8. Like George Carlin said (off the top of my head...) "When you get a new pet, you're just getting a future tragedy". I hate thinking how many pets I've had who aren't here any more. V__V
  9. If you have a Flickr account, PLEASE add this to http://www.flickr.com/groups/whippingoutthebrick/ Juvenile awesomeness at it's best. It's hilarious.
  10. You realize how many people probably saved that already? lol It'll show up again.
  11. Lol. I'm far from the first person to ever push one Lego figure up against another one. There are many older examples of people as juvenile as me. (scroll down) http://www.flickr.com/groups/whippingoutthebrick/ Trust me, you haven't seen anything yet.
  12. Don't lie. I know you loved those hollow bellbottoms for limbs Kopaka Nuva wannabe. Remember the good old days of speculation that came before his unveiling? People were talking of a glow in the dark figure, an all-trans Toa, or a hero in chromed armor... But it was Kopaka Nuva.... just a little different. >__< Le' sigh.
  13. Are you 100% positive this was released illegally? As much as one could ask another if they know it's real because they're Lego employees, the same could be asked to anyone thinking it's a leak. Lego does this ALL the time. Pics and videos come out mad early, they get all swollen and Jigglypuff over it, then everyone gets into a riot mentality trying to search out the censored stuff. I admit, this does seem less intentional this time, but hell... I've made up my own mind that it's just more covert viral advertising from them.
  14. Lol, calm down. Anyway, that one pic of Mata Nui overheard and the eyes and the arms in the water... wow. If it's Mata Nui or not, I don't care. It's a cool concept and quite unexpected, by me at least. Oh, and lol, calm down. There is no BZ here, no Lego influence, no legal ramifications, etc etc...
  15. So wait... then all of this means... ...the Bohrok were Mata Nui's crabs? Flickr is your friend. ; )
  16. Search Engine: "yoda" "birthday" Result: a hilariously hideous, hollow-eyed icing job. Posted. Defcon 3 material? No. Period. End it.
  17. HAPPY BIR... ... ... ... ...holy shit that hideous image is going to give me nightmares.
  18. Only the Sontarans and MAYBE Donna saw Rose pop up onscreen, yes? It was on the Sontar's monitor, not viewable by the Doctor as far as I can tell.
  19. NO. No, goddamit, no... ...wait, there we go. Instant gratification Flickr gallery: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jinzoningen73...57601489166048/ Whenever Kevin gets to it, kiddy-safe Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=317157 Mainly, these guys used to look like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Anakin/G...317-allegra.jpg lol?
  20. Thinking of small mocs while sitting atop a pile of blasters from Hailfire Droid sets = ...this. lol. 21. Are there any parts small enough to latch on to the thin bar between it's back legs? (AWESOME username, by the way).
  22. Yeah, you had the Master "reborn" by the Timelords with all his regenerations, then you had the Master also trying to suck out all of the Doctor's remaining regenerations in that made-for-tv American movie... True, true... ...ew, Troughton and Davidson was only on ONE year? It seemed like alot more. Though that's more than likely due to the fact I used to have to watch the show on PBS, every episode cut up into half-hour chunks aired weekdays. >__< Hey... any of you HARDCORE fans know where a list is of EVERYTHING that's canon to the TV show? I'm not talking comic books, as things such as that are usually so annoying I want to tear my skin off, but stuff like movies, episodes, audio books, webisodes, specials, extra clips within things like variety and talk shows, etc? I ask because looking at just Torchwood... man... I get the episodes and the confidential counterparts, but then find audio books narrated by the actors... and I wonder if there's even MORE canon going on that I'll never hear.
  23. I... I uh... fell asleep around the time that all hell began breaking loose. I didn't even go back to watch the rest. Maybe it gets a little more exciting and less predictable in the last minutes? Well, Tennant offs it ...damn, I forget if it was the end of this season ...no, wait ...yeah, he's slated to kick the bucket at the end of the mini-movied 5th "season". For them to be dropping hints about it now is kind of silly though... you're talking a good year or more off. Man, they're cutting through Doctors quickly these days. Before you know it, it'll be the end and they'll probably: --have him pass his Timelordiness onto a human. --have a Doctor from another reality bop in. --have some power from some vanquished enemy or ethereal friend "reset" his regenerations. --human betrayal, a clone of him with all their regenerations intact gaining their freedom by his help or sacrifice. Of course, there's probably other ways to do it, but those would be the most cliche' ones. However they do it might suck though. The thing I LOVE about Japanese and British tv shows is that they often have endings, whereas US shit just goes on and on and on until the creative vision from newbie writers collide and sink the original attributes of what made the shows popular in the first place. Knowing that the Doctor would EVENTUALLY die for real was a cool idea. I know it's a scifi show, but they really will need to outdo themselves if they want to go beyond his last regeneration, or wind up losing the mysterious credibility of the character.
  24. I consider a Lego minifig to be at least SOMEWHAT humanoid, and not above a certain height. I wouldn't consider a hailfire droid a minifig, but I would a battle droid. I'd LIKE to not call jelly aliens and battle droids minifigs, but unfortunately they aren't "figurines" either, as there's moving parts. In the world of action figures, I'm under the impression that a figurine that doesn't move is a figurine. A figurine that DOES move is an action figure. Even more, "minifig" isn't even saying action figure or figurine, as the rest of the word has been cut off... so yeah, even a non-moving minifig would still be a minifig. Now, do I consider something like a death star mouse droid (beepbeep beebeepbeep) a minifig just because it's in minifig scale? ... ... ...no, that'd be pushing it perhaps. A Gonk droid, maybe. I think a better context to phrase this question in is simply, "What's a really shitty Lego minifig product, and what is not?" Classic human minifigs... not shitty. Trade Union droids... kinda' shitty. Jelly aliens... SUPER shitty. And then mouse droids... shitty, but understandably so. I mean think about it, you have "kid" minifigs whose legs don't move. Does that make them not minifigs still?
