  1. I notice BZ and another site or two have a big "DON'T megablocking EVEN THINK ABOUT THAT SPOILER!" banners plastered across the top of the screen. That's like saying, "Hey kids, you know you have to go and search the net for this shit, right? We're telling you it's out there lol!!!111". Wouldn't a more... effective way of crushing the leak for Lego be to not mention it at all? I thought this might be an actual leak at first, but I'm getting that paranoid, something smells funny feeling again.
  2. I hope this set does well, so as to warrant a demand for a Hoth base playset done in much the same fashion. Poor Hoth... no one ever gives you a second look. V__V I want that black protocol droid.
  3. Point taken. And yeah, the Mistika are exactly the ones that spring to mind first. Hmm... no more MataNui Landmass leaks yet? You'd think there'd be some more loose lips, after the first slip up.
  4. Right on a few different levels. --Lego makes sets "incomplete", requiring people to buy more sets until they look "right". --You don't need the parts in the Mistika AT ALL to make good versions of the old characters. Seriously, these new pics might sway their kiddy demographic groups, but most of us, here, ...no way. They still look terrible and wonky. And Bitil and the yellow guy still look like cool parts packs, requiring multiple purchases.
  5. Indeed. Year after year, Lego manages to lose TOTAL control over their OWN upcoming intellectual properties! But they'd be able to drop their Keystone Cops manner of internal security for someone ELSE'S property?!? Lol... Why, that's as silly as saying that the great spirit in their Bionicle lore is a giant, walking landmass created of all the islands in the story combined! Oh, SHI... *
  6. Yeah, but... --When were her friends brought into the system? --If they weren't and just were beings of her memory, wouldn't there be enough of her to be resurrected? Ah hell, I'm thinking too hard. It was still a pretty fun episode. ... ... ...Hey, who turned out the lights?
  7. This last one confused me. Donna gets sucked into the mainframe, but is extracted. River and her friends (her friends? How...) go there, but are stuck in a heavenly cyberspace forever. Why? Was it that they were all "dead" at the time, their cyberselves being merely faint, incomplete impressions of them when they were alive?
  8. Well poopy. My Walmart got in Animated stuff. I was going to buy Lockdown and Blackarachnia... but after looking at every single copy of each... man, no. The paint jobs on them are HORRIBLE. One will have a smear, because the paint wasn't dry when they dropped it in, another, scratched, another, chipped on a corner, Decepticon symbol off-center, smudged, etc etc... through NINE Blackarachnias! Call me anal, but even as a KID I hated shit like that! Looking at all the other guys... yeesh, what a freaking nightmare of quality control! Bumblebee's headlights painted so thin you can hardly see it, Prowl's paint messed up... you name it. EVERY damn item on the pegs was like this. Phooey, until they get their act together...
  9. As the intended set, it doesn't really do anything for me. But as a parts pack, it's pretty decent. I especially love those all-trans heads. It's about time.
  10. Coming into money a little, I picked up this guy and a few other similar sets. Y'know, they're pretty decent, parts-wise. The same can't be said for the good guys, but the bad guys are worth their price. If I were a kid, I'd be loving this set as the intended model. And that's a feeling I haven't had with Bionicle for like... well, ever lol. The weapon function on these bad guys is also superior, as the cannons the good guys carry are utter JUNK. I'm not likin' these packages at all. Why couldn't they at least have had the cages connect to each other?!? How awesome (and profitable for Lego) would it have been if you could buy five of the same guy and have the cages be a connected landscape? As it is, I just have them sitting all over the place, doing literally nothing. (Do they even stand up on their own?!?)
  11. Lol, just today I was messing with those Zamor ammo cages, thinking how they might be used as limbs... then I see the upper legs on this moc. NICE.
  12. Is it sad that I'm able to read that bionicle text? Anyway, the wing stickers look like holdovers from Exo-Force.
  13. Well, lol... 411. River's Run 412. War on Skaro 413. Journey's End Some of these multi-charactered, returning friend and enemy episodes of the new Doctor Who remind me of the old team-up, all-out brawl Godzilla movies during the "goofy" years.
  14. Lol. Even though you're referring to the daughter episode, it seems to tie into this library episode as well. Crazy hunch... the Doctor's familiar friend was a regeneration of his daughter? I doubt it was anyone we knew, like Romana or someting... though there seemed to be affection beyond love of a father going on there.
  15. So far I'm still liking Animated. As long as some genius doesn't get the idea to start wasting manufacturing resources on those human villains as figures, everything should be ok lol. Man, I can't believe the second round of episodes are almost over already! Time just flew... It better not be like Teen Titans and just vanish off the air without a wrap-up ending episode. I hate that lack of final continuity in American cartoons.
  16. I also don't see what others are seeing in Takanuva. He's like a moc, but not a good moc, a moc of just really jumbled up parts. And I'm really crying tears to see Lego's resurrected those fanblade / liftarm pieces on his legs. They never should've survived beyond Roboriders. But hey, as a parts pack, it's not too bad... sorta. : / I want Krika. No. I want about four duplicates of Krika... the other bad guys too. Great parts for mocing ferocious looking stuff. The Toa can suck it though, save for a part or two easily acquirable on Bricklink.
  17. A REALLY expensive megablocking pile of silver blades. Luckily though, they did toss a good bunch of other parts in there too this season, ugly action figures be damned.
  18. As for the Mata Nui dealie, looks like someone saved the photos and put'em in a video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ftsLkXo4l8k More: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MtTOP--GnW0 http://youtube.com/watch?v=JJ3zgAv5jaU&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ3zgAv5jaU http://youtube.com/watch?v=Nio11-OnsxQ&feature=related I'll post more as I find'em. Lego's doing a nice (but hopeless) job of removing these from Brickshelf and Youtube.
  19. Oh MAN, thanks for pointing that out! I almost bought Hydraxon, and hearing only the fingers are gunmetal... well hell with that set and it's deceptive packaging. Similarly, I bought Antroz's little buddy, finding out that his lower legs were dark bley... looked like a totally different color on the package. Then, for SOME stupid reason, I got Antroz, thinking he was classic red. He is of course dark red, but damned if the packaging images indicate that. Adding to the confusion is that the canister housing is in classic red. Like I said, the Barraki had it right, and I bought them accordingly. (A bunch!) That's just it though. It's a "mistake" that looks so intentional. Like, you know right away it's wrong-looking, and then get the need to get other orange sets to "fix" Lego's design. Unfortunately, that means buying a set for one or two parts that you might not have really wanted. Don't sweat the repetitive complaining. Lego's going to spend money and time advertising them into our faces, so telling them "they suck!" at every turn is just making things even. And hopefully making them smarter in the future.
  20. Ew. Listening to you two regurgitate the exchange over whether or not the movie blew (badly!) or not... something hit me. Neither line will probably push the other out. I think they'll be sitting side by side. I say that because you have the dark, poopy, CGI shard-bots of the movie, while you have the bordering on Playskool look of Animated. Now, the only "normal" looking Transformers on the shelves will (maybe) be the hero figurines or some Titaniums. In other words, the two different styles cancel each other out. Did that make any sense?
  21. Oh, heck yeah! Lego's all about getting multiple sets and going crazy. Especially on such sweet discounts.
  22. Oh great. Sounds like another excuse to just load up the sets with more of that damn silver. Unrelated note- You know, I really hate the packaging images of the stuff currently on the shelves. When the Barraki were out, I could look at the packages and know EXACTLY what colors were included in the sets. But you have like Hydraxon and a few of the Phantoka who I'm sitting there trying to discern what parts are black, what parts are silver, what parts are gun metal, whether parts are red or dark red... ...and this is while studying sets that are right there in my hands! I actually put Hydraxon back on the shelf and left... all because I couldn't remember what colors were shown in the fan images I saw online! Pity. I really hope they fix this PROBLEM in the next wave(s). I want to buy more Bionicle sets, but not when they're being all fruity with the CGI and airbrushing to the point I'm not sure if the parts inside are the ones I'm looking to moc with.
  23. Lol, I'm going to buy a few of these JUST for the glowing octopus. At least I THINK it's a glowing one, unless it's blacklight-reactive trans neon green.
  24. See, now this is where Bionicle becomes important to me. I used to see ads in comic books for Lego Technic sets... and they were all as minimally designed as that. It was because of Technic sets like this and wretched Happy Meal System sets that looked like nothing which made me think I'd never get into Lego. Yet a few action figure-type ball joints later, and... (NOTE: The above text was in no way meant to call people who liked 1259 "wrong".)
  25. I haven't even seen the movie yet and figured that out. It's like saying "whips may be involved in the newest Indiana Jones movie". (I was wondering how they'd try to keep the franchise going beyond Harrison Ford... then I saw the trailers and was like "Uuuuuuuuuugh." lol).
